kṛtvā carati yo 'gnīn ādhāya pravasatīti katham agnīn ādhāya pravatsyan proṣya vopatiṣṭheta tūṣṇīm evety āhuḥ tūṣṇīṃ vai śreyāṃsam ākāṅkṣanti yadi manasi kurvītābhayam vo 'bhayaṃ me 'stv ity abhayaṃ haivāsya bhavaty evam upatiṣṭhamānasya ekavacanam ekāgnau purā chāyānāṃ saṃbhedād gārhapatyād āhavanīyam abhyuddharet mṛtyuṃ vai pāpmānaṃ chāyāṃ tarati saṃpraiṣaṃ kṛtvoddharāhavanīyam iti saṃpraiṣavarjam ekāgnau vācā tvā hotrā prāṇenādhvaryuṇā cakṣuṣodgātrā manasā brahmaṇā śrotreṇāgnīdhreṇaitais tvā pañcabhir ṛtvigbhir daivyair abhyuddharāmi uddhriyamāṇa uddhara pāpmano mā yad avidvān yac ca vidvāṃś cakāra ahnā yad enaḥ kṛtam asti pāpaṃ sarvasmād enasa uddhṛto muñca tasmād iti sāyam rātryā yad enaḥ kṛtam asti pāpam iti prātaḥ amṛtāhutim amṛtāyāṃ juhomy agniṃ pṛthivyā adityā upasthe tayānantaṃ lokam ahaṃ jayāmi prajāpatir yaṃ prathamo jigāya agnir jyotir jyotir agnir iti sāyam sūryo jyotiḥ jyotiḥ sūrya iti prātaḥ hiraṇyam antar dhārayet ārṣeyas tat paśyann āhavanīyam abhyuddharet atha yasyāhavanīyam abhyuddhṛtam ādityo 'bhyastam iyāt kā tatra prāyaścittiḥ darbheṇa hiraṇyaṃ baddhvā paścād dhārayet ārṣeyas tat paśyann agnim āhavanīyam abhyuddharet atha yasyāhavanīyam abhyuddhṛtam ādityo 'bhyudiyāt kā tatra prāyaścittiḥ darbheṇa rajataṃ baddhvā purastād dhārayet ārṣeyas tat paśyann āhavanīyam abhyuddharet atha yasya sāyam ahutam agnihotraṃ prātar ādityo 'bhyudiyāt kā tatra prāyaścittiḥ maitraḥ puroḍāśaś carur vā nityāḥ purastāddhomāḥ saṃsthitahomeṣu mitraḥ pṛthivyā adhyakṣa iti madhyata opya saṃsrāvabhāgaiḥ saṃsthāpayet atha yasya prātar akṛtam agnihotraṃ sāyam ādityo 'bhyastamiyāt kā tatra prāyaścittiḥ vāruṇaḥ puroḍāśo nityāḥ purastāddhomāḥ saṃsthitahomeṣu yat kiṃ cedaṃ varuṇa iti madhyata opya saṃsrāvabhāgaiḥ saṃsthāpayet atha yasya prātar ahutam agnihotram ādityo 'bhyudiyāt kā tatra prāyaścittiḥ maitraḥ puroḍāśo nityāḥ purastāddhomāḥ saṃsthitahomeṣu mitraḥ pṛthivyā adhyakṣa iti madhyata opya saṃsrāvabhāgaiḥ saṃsthāpayet āhutī vaitābhyām ṛgbhyāṃ juhuyāt atha yo 'gnihotreṇodeti svargaṃ vā eṣa lokaṃ yajamānam abhivahati nāhutvāvarteta sa yady āvarteta svargād evainaṃ tallokād āvarteta atha yasyāgnihotraṃ hūyamānaṃ skandet kā tatra prāyaścittiḥ apareṇāhavanīyaṃ dakṣiṇaṃ jānv ācyopaviśati yat srucy atiśiṣṭaṃ syāt taj juhuyāt atha yatraivāvaskannaṃ bhavati taṃ deśam abhivimṛjya vimṛgvarīṃ pṛthivīm āvadāmīti prāṅmukhopaviśyāgnir bhūmyām iti tisṛbhir ālabhyābhimantrayeta atha cet sarvam eva skannaṃ syād yac carusthālyām atiśiṣṭaṃ syāt taj juhuyāt athāhavanīya ājyāhutiṃ juhuyāt yan me skannam ity etayarcā yan me skannaṃ manaso jātavedo yad vā 'skandaddhaviṣo yatra yatra utpruṣo vipruṣaḥ saṃjuhomi satyāḥ santu yajamānasya kāmāḥ svāheti atha yasyāgnihotre 'medhyam āpadyeta kā tatra prāyaścittiḥ apareṇāhavanīyam uṣṇam iva bhasma nirūhya tatra tām āhutiṃ juhuyāt taddhutaṃ cāhutaṃ ca bhavati yac carusthālyām atiśiṣṭaṃ syāt taj juhuyāt atha cec carusthālyām evāmedhyam āpadyeta kā tatra prāyaścittiḥ tat tathaiva hutvāthānyām āhūya dohayitvā śrapayitvā tad asmai tatraivāsīnāyānvāhareyuḥ atha ūrdhvaṃ prasiddham agnihotram atha yasyāhavanīyagārhapatyāv antareṇa yāno vā ratho vā nivarteta śvā vānyo vābhidhāvet kā tatra prāyaścittiḥ mantravanti ca kāryāṇi sarvāṇy adhyayanaṃ ca yat nāntarāgamanaṃ teṣāṃ sādhu vicchedanād bhayam iti gārhapatyād adhy āhavanīya udatantuṃ niṣiñcan iyāt tantuṃ tanvan rajaso bhānum anv ihi jyotiṣmataḥ patho rakṣa dhiyā kṛtān anulbaṇaṃ vayata joguvām apaḥ manur bhava janayā daivyaṃ janam tanvaṃs tantur upa sedur agne tvaṃ pathā rajasi devayānaḥ tvayāgne pṛṣṭhaṃ vayam āruhemādhā devaiḥ sadhamādaṃ madema svāheti sarvatraitat prāyaścittam antarāgamane smṛtam yajñasya saṃtatir asi yajñasya tvā saṃtatyā saṃtanomi vasūnāṃ rudrāṇām ādityānāṃ marutām ṛṣīṇāṃ bhṛgūṇām aṅgirasām atharvaṇāṃ brahmaṇaḥ saṃtatir asi brahmaṇas tvā saṃtatyā saṃtanomi yan me chidraṃ manaso yac ca vācaḥ sarasvatī manyumantam jagāma viśvais tad devaiḥ saha saṃvidānaḥ saṃdadhātu bṛhaspatiḥ mā na āpo medhāṃ mā brahma pramathiṣṭana śuṣyadā yūyaṃ syandadhvam upahūto 'haṃ sumedhā varcasvī mā no medhāṃ mā no dīkṣāṃ mā no hiṃsiṣṭaṃ yat tapaḥ śivā naḥ saṃsvaṃta āyuṣe śivā bhavantu mātaraḥ namas te pathyā revati svasti mā parāyaṇaḥ svasti mā punarāyaṇaḥ mā na āpo medhām punar maitv indriyam iti ca atha yasyāhavanīyo 'gnir jāgṛyād gārhapatya upaśāmyet kā tatra prāyaścittiḥ yat prāñcam udvartayati tenāyatanāc cyavate yat pratyañcam asuravad yajñaṃ tanoti yad anugamayatīśvarā vainaṃ tat prāṇā hāsyur iti vā atha nu katham iti sabhasmakam āhavanīyaṃ dakṣiṇena dakṣiṇāgniṃ parihṛtya gārhapatyasyāyatane pratiṣṭhāpya tata āhavanīyaṃ praṇayet bhadrād abhi śreyaḥ prehīty etayarcā gārhapatya ājyaṃ vilāyotpūya caturgṛhītaṃ gṛhītvāhavanīyagārhapatyāv antareṇa vyavetya juhuyāt ayaṃ no agnir adhyakṣa iti dvābhyām etena u vā asya saṃtvaramāṇasyāhavanīyagārhapatyau janitāv ayaṃ mā loko 'nusaṃtanutām iti etena ha vā asya saṃtvaramāṇasyāhavanīyagārhapatyau pāpmānam apahataḥ so 'pahatapāpmā jyotir bhūtvā devān apyetīti athāhavanīya ājyāhutiṃ juhuyād asapatnaṃ purastād ity etayarcā atha yasyāgnihotraṃ śrapyamāṇaṃ viṣyandet tad adbhir upaninayet tad anumantrayate pṛthivīṃ turīyam ity etābhiḥ pṛthivīṃ turīyaṃ manuṣyān yajño 'gāt tato mā draviṇam āṣṭa antarikṣe turīyaṃ divi turīyam apsu turīyam apsv ity āha bhūtāni tāni devān yajño 'gāt tato mā draviṇam āṣṭa trātāram indram yayor ojaseti caitā viṣṇuvaruṇadevatyā ṛco japati yad vai yajñasya viriṣṭaṃ tad vaiṣṇavaṃ yad guṣpitaṃ tad vāruṇaṃ yajñasya vā ṛddhiḥ bhūyiṣṭhām ṛddhim āpnoti yatraitā viṣṇuvaruṇadevatyā ṛco japati athādbhuteṣv etā eva tisro japet tisro japet atha yasya puroḍāśe amedhyam āpadyeta kā tatra prāyaścittiḥ ājyena abhighārya apsu antar iti sakṛt eva apsu hutvā atha āhavanīye ājya āhutī juhuyāt asapatnam purastāt iti etābhyām ṛgbhyām atha yasya puroḍāśaḥ kṣāmaḥ bhavati kā tatra prāyaścittiḥ saḥ agnaye kṣāmavate aṣṭākapālam puroḍāśam nirvapet nityāḥ purastāddhomāḥ saṃsthita homeṣu pṛtanā jitam sahamānam iti madhyatas opya tathā saṃsrāva bhāgaiḥ saṃsthāpayet atha āhavanīye tābhyām ṛgbhyām atha yasya agnihotram tṛtīye nitya homa kāle vicchidyeta kā tatra prāyaścittiḥ saḥ agnaye tantumate aṣṭākapālam puroḍāśam nirvapet nityāḥ purastāddhomāḥ saṃsthita homeṣu tvam agne saprathāḥ asi juṣṭaḥ hotā vareṇyaḥ tvayā yajñam vitanvate iti madhyatas opya saṃsrāva bhāgaiḥ saṃsthāpayet asapatnam purastāt iti etābhyām ṛgbhyām atha yasya sāṃnāyyam vyāpadyeta kā tatra prāyaścittiḥ prātardoham dvaidham kṛtvā tena yajeta atha āhavanīye ājya āhutim juhuyāt trātāram indram iti etayā ṛcā prātardoham ced apahareyuḥ sāyaṃdoham dvaidham kṛtvā tena yajeta atha āhavanīye ājya āhutim juhuyāt trātāram indram iti etayā ṛcā atha ced sarvam eva sāṃnāyyam vyāpadyeta kā tatra prāyaścittiḥ aindram puroḍāśam māhendram vā sāṃnāyyasya āyatane pratiṣṭhāpya tena yajeta atha āhavanīye ājya āhutim juhuyāt trātāram indram iti etayā ṛcā atha yasya havīṃṣi vyāpadyeran kā tatra prāyaścittiḥ ājyasya etāni nirupya tena yajeta atha āhavanīye ājya āhutim juhuyāt trātāram indram iti etayā ṛcā atha ced sarvāṇi eva havīṃṣi vyāpadyeran kā tatra prāyaścittiḥ ājyasya etāni nirupya etayā ājya haviṣā iṣṭyā yajeran iti api hi kīrtitam madhyāḥ tu eva bhavanti taiḥ yajeta atha āhavanīye ājya āhutim juhuyāt trātāram indram iti etayā ṛcā atha atas dṛṣṭa abhyuddṛṣṭāṇi iti ācakṣate adya sāyam amāvāsyā bhaviṣyati iti na pratiharaṇāya ca sa syāt atha sa yaḥ anyaḥ brūyāt adarśam ca adya purastāt iti tam tu kim iti brūyāt atha vā sa syāt eva adhas tām eva prāyaścittim kṛtvā yajeta iti dvaipāyanaḥ kṛtasya vai prāyaścittiḥ bhavati iti lāṅgaliḥ samāpya eva tena haviṣā yad daivatam tat haviḥ syāt atha anyat haviḥ nirvapet agnaye dātre puroḍāśam indrāya pradātre puroḍāśam viṣṇave śipiviṣṭāya puroḍāśam atha etān yathā niruptān tredhā kuryāt yathā brāhmaṇa uktam nityāḥ purastāddhomāḥ saṃsthita homeṣu agnim vayam trātāram havāmahe yaḥ imam trāyatām asmāt yakṣmāt asmāt āmayataḥ trātāram indram uru viṣṇo vikramasva iti madhyatas opya saṃsrāva bhāgaiḥ saṃsthāpayet ācakṣate paurṇamāsī amāvāsyā iti ca atipanne atha atas abhyuddṛṣṭāni iti ācakṣate adya sāyam amāvāsyā bhaviṣyati iti na pratiharaṇāya ca sa syāt atha sa yaḥ anyaḥ brūyāt adarśam ca adya paścāt iti tam tu kim iti brūyāt atha vā sa syāt eva adhas tām eva prāyaścittim kṛtvā yajeta iti dvaipāyanaḥ kṛtasya vai prāyaścittiḥ bhavati iti lāṅgaliḥ yena pathā vaivasvataḥ yamaḥ rājā naḥ yayau agniḥ naḥ tena nayatu prajānan vaiśvānaraḥ pathikṛt viśvak ṛṣṭiḥ samāpya eva tena haviṣā yat daivatam tat haviḥ syāt atha anyat haviḥ nirvapet agnaye pathikṛte puroḍāśam indrāya vṛtra ghne puroḍāśam vaiśvānaram dvādaśa kapālam puroḍāśam nityāḥ purastāddhomāḥ saṃsthita homeṣu tvam agne saprathāḥ asi yena pathā vaivasvataḥ śāsaḥ itthā mahān asi vaiśvānaraḥ naḥ ūtaye iti madhyatas opya saṃsrāva bhāgaiḥ saṃsthāpayet mahāpāthikṛti iti ācakṣate ubhayor api pattayoḥ tat āhuḥ na te viduḥ ye tathā kurvanti atha nu katham iti gārhapatya ājyam vilāya utpūya caturgṛhītam gṛhītvā āhavanīya gārhapatyau antareṇa ativrajya juhuyāt asau yaḥ udayāt puras vasānaḥ nīlalohitaḥ atha dṛṣṭam a dṛṣṭam naḥ duṣkṛtam tat svāhā iti evam eva abhyuddṛṣṭe asau yaḥ udayāt paścāt vasānaḥ nīlalohitaḥ atha dṛṣṭam a dṛṣṭam naḥ duṣkṛtam karat svāhā iti sa yaḥ evam etena tejasā ājyena yaśasā prīṇāti saḥ asya eṣa dṛṣṭaḥ prāṇān yaśasā prīṇāti atha yaḥ a hutvā navam prāśnīyāt agnau vā āgamayet kā tatra prāyaścittiḥ saḥ agnaye vratapataye aṣṭākapālam puroḍāśam nirvapet nityāḥ purastāddhomāḥ saṃsthita homeṣu agne prāśnāhi prathamaḥ tvam hi vettha yathā haviḥ vanvan haviḥ yathā devebhyaḥ yajamānam ca vardhaya agniḥ ca deva savitar tvam agne vrata pāḥ asi idāvatsarāya iti madhyatas opya saṃsrāva bhāgaiḥ saṃsthāpayet yadi anugatam agnim śaṅkamānāḥ mantheyuḥ mathite agnim adhigaccheyuḥ bhadrāt adhi śreyaḥ prehi iti vyāhṛtibhiḥ ca mathitam samāropya atha itarasmin punar tvā prāṇaḥ iti pañcabhiḥ ājya āhutīḥ hutvā yathoktam prākṛtā vṛttiḥ atha yasya agnihotrī gharma dughā duhyamānā vāśyet kā tatra prāyaścittiḥ aśanā pipāse eva eṣā yajamānasya saṃprakhyāya vāśyati iti tām tṛṇam api ādayet sūyavasāt bhagavatī iti etayā ṛcā atha āhavanīye ājya āhutīḥ juhuyāt dhātā dadhātu naḥ pūrṇāḥ iti dvābhyām ṛgbhyām atha yasya agnihotrī gharma dughā vā duhyamānā upaviśet kā tatra prāyaścittiḥ bhayam vai eṣā yajamānasya prakhyāya upaviśati tasyāḥ ūdhasi uda pātram ninayet śam naḥ devīḥ abhiṣṭayaḥ iti dvābhyām tām anumantrayate yasmāt bhītā niṣīdasi tatas naḥ abhayam kṛdhi paśūn naḥ sarvān gopāya namaḥ rudrāya mīḍhuṣe iti atha enām utthāpayati uttiṣṭha devi adite devān yajñena bodhaya indrāya kṛṇvatī bhāgam mitrāya varuṇāya ca iti utthitām anumantrayate udasthāt devi adite devān yajñena bodhaya āyuḥ ca tasya bhūtim ca yajamānam ca vardhaya iti atha āhavanīye ājya āhutīḥ juhuyāt mā naḥ vidan iti etaiḥ abhayaiḥ raudraiḥ ca atha yasya vapām āhutiṃ vā gṛhītāṃ śyenaḥ śakuniḥ śvā vānyo vāhared vāto vā vivamet kā tatra prāyaścittiḥ divaṃ pṛthivīm ity abhimantryāthāhavanīya ājyāhutīr juhuyād vāta ā vātu bheṣajam iti sūktena atha yasya somagraho gṛhīto 'tisravet kā tatra prāyaścittiḥ drapsaś caskandety abhimantryāthāhavanīya ājyāhutīr juhuyān manase cetase dhiya iti sūktena atha yasyāṣṭāpadī vaśā syāt kā tatra prāyaścittiḥ darbheṇa hiraṇyaṃ baddhvādhyadhi garbhaṃ hiraṇyagarbheṇa juhuyāt yathāmuṃ sā garbham abhyaścotayad yathāmuṃ garbhaṃ sadarbham iva sahiraṇyaṃ tam uddhṛtya prakṣālyānupadaṃ śrapayitvā prākśirasam udakpādyaṃ kāmasūktena juhuyād anaṃgandhītī vety aṣṭabhir nabhasvatībhir hiraṇyagarbheṇa vā atha yasyāsamāpte karmaṇi tāntriko 'gnir upaśāmyet kā tatra prāyaścittiḥ yaṃ tvam agne punas tvādityā rudrā vasava ity anyaṃ praṇīya prajvālya mamāgne varca iti sūktenopasamādhāya karmaśeṣam samāpnuyuḥ atha yasyāsamāpte karmaṇi barhir ādīpyeta tatra tan nirvāpya juhuyād yad agnir barhir adahad vedyā vāso apombhata tvam eva no jātavedo duritāt pāhi tasmāt nirdagdhā no amitrā yathedaṃ barhis tathā amitrāṇāṃ śriyaṃ bhūtiṃ tām eṣāṃ parinirjahi yatkāmās te juhumas tan no astu viśāmpate ye devā yajñam āyānti te no rakṣantu sarvataḥ avadagdhaṃ duḥsvapnyam avadagdhā arātayaḥ sarvāś ca yātudhānyaḥ mā tvā dabhyan yātudhānāḥ mā bradhnaḥ śarmabhiḥ ṣṭuhi darbho rājā samudriyaḥ pari naḥ pātu viśvataḥ athānyad barhir upakalpyodakena saṃprokṣya punaḥ stṛṇāti idaṃ barhir amṛteneha siktaṃ hiraṇmayaṃ haritaṃ tat stṛtaṃ naḥ tad vai purāṇam abhinavaṃ stṛṇīṣva vāsaḥ praśastaṃ prati me gṛhāṇeti atha yasya pitrye praṇīto 'gnir upaśāmyet kā tatra prāyaścittiḥ bhasmālabhyābhimantrayed dviṣantam agne dviṣatāṃ ca vittaṃ prajāṃ dviṣadbhyo naya dakṣiṇena pitrye praṇīta upaśāmyamānaḥ pāpmānam agne tam ito nudasva dviṣantam agne dviṣatāṃ ca vittaṃ gaccha tvam ādāya parāvato 'nyān pitrye praṇīta upaśāmyamāna iha prajāṃ dīrgham āyuś ca dhehi yas tvam agne pramattānāṃ praṇīta upaśāmyasi sukalpam agne tat tvayā punas tvoddīpayāmasīty ucyamāne 'gniṃ praṇīya prajvālyendrasya kukṣir asīti dvābhyāṃ samidhāv abhyādadhyāt atha yasya yūpo virohed asamāpte karmaṇi tatra juhuyāt yūpo virohañchataśākho adhvaraḥ samāvṛto mohayiṣyan yajamānasya loke vedābhigupto brahmaṇā parivṛto 'tharvabhiḥ śāntaḥ sukṛtām etu lokam yūpo hy arukṣad dviṣatāṃ vadhāya na me yajño yajamānaś ca riṣyāt saptarṣīṇāṃ sukṛtāṃ yatra lokas tatremaṃ yajñaṃ yajamānaṃ ca dhehi yo vanaspatīnām upatāpo babhūva yad vā gṛhān ghoram utājagāma tan nirjagāmo haviṣā ghṛtena śaṃ no astu dvipade śaṃ catuṣpade yo vanaspatīnām upatāpo na āgād yad vā yajñaṃ no 'dbhutam ājagāma sarvaṃ tad agne hutam astu bhāgaśaḥ śivān vayam uttaremābhi vājān tvaṣṭre svāheti hutvā tvaṣṭā me daivyaṃ vaca iti tvāṣṭraṃ vaiśvarūpam ālabheta atha yasyāsamāpte karmaṇi yūpaḥ prapatet tatra juhuyāt ya indreṇa sṛṣṭo yadi vā marudbhir yūpaḥ papāta dviṣatāṃ vadhāya taṃ nirjagāmo haviṣā ghṛtena śaṃ no astu dvipade śaṃ catuṣpade tvaṣṭre svāheti hutvā tvaṣṭā me daivyaṃ vaca iti tvāṣṭraṃ sarvarūpam ālabheta atha yasyāsamāpte karmaṇi yūpe dhvāṅkṣo nipatet tatra juhuyāt ā pavasva hiraṇyavad aśvāvat soma vīravat vājaṃ gomantam ābhara svāheti madhyata opya saṃsrāvabhāgaiḥ saṃsthāpayet yadi duṣṭaṃ haviḥ syāt kīṭāvapannaṃ vā tat tasmin bhasmany anupraharet sahasraśṛṅgaḥ ity etayarcā atha yasyāgnayo mithaḥ saṃsṛjyeran kā tatra prāyaścittiḥ so 'gnaye vītaye 'ṣṭākapālaṃ puroḍāśaṃ prāṅ nirvapet nityāḥ purastāddhomāḥ saṃsthitahomeṣv agna āyāhi vītaye gṛṇāno havyadātaye ni hotā satsi barhiṣi iti madhyata opya saṃsrāvabhāgaiḥ saṃsthāpayet atha yasyāgnayo grāmyeṇāgninā saṃsṛjyeran kā tatra prāyaścittiḥ so 'gnaye vivicaye 'ṣṭākapālaṃ puroḍāśaṃ nirvapet nityāḥ purastāddhomāḥ saṃsthitahomeṣv agnim īᄆe purohitaṃ viviciṃ ratnadhātamaṃ pra ṇa āyūṃṣi tāriṣat iti madhyata opya saṃsrāvabhāgaiḥ saṃsthāpayet atha yasyāgnayaḥ śāvenāgninā saṃsṛjyeran kā tatra prāyaścittiḥ so 'gnaye śucaye 'ṣṭākapālaṃ puroḍāśaṃ nirvapet nityāḥ purastāddhomāḥ saṃsthitahomeṣv agniḥ śucivratatamaḥ śucir vipraḥ śuciḥ kaviḥ śucī rocata āhutaḥ ud agne śucayas tava śukrā jihvā vidyutā bhrājanti dyotata ā ca dyotate iti madhyata opya saṃsrāvabhāgaiḥ saṃsthāpayet atha yasyāgnayo 'bhiplaveran kā tatra prāyaścittiḥ so 'gnaye 'psumate 'ṣṭākapālaṃ puroḍāśaṃ nirvapet nityāḥ purastāddhomāḥ saṃsthitahomeṣv apām agnis tanūbhiḥ iti madhyata opya saṃsrāvabhāgaiḥ saṃsthāpayet atha yady anugatam abhyuddharet kā tatra prāyaścittiḥ so 'gnaye 'gnimate 'ṣṭākapālaṃ puroḍāśaṃ nirvapet nityāḥ purastāddhomāḥ saṃsthitahomeṣu śivau bhavatam adya naḥ agnināgniḥ saṃsṛjyate kavir gṛhapatir yuvā havyavāḍ juhvāsyaḥ tvaṃ hy agne agninā vipro vipreṇa san satā sakhā sakhyā samidhyase sa no rāsva suvīryam iti madhyata opyātha saṃsrāvabhāgaiḥ saṃsthāpayet atha ya āhitāgnis tantre pravāse mṛtaḥ syāt kathaṃ tatra kuryāt katham asyāgnihotraṃ juhuyuḥ anyavatsāyā goḥ payasety āhur adugdhāyā vā śūdradugdhāyā vā asarvaṃ vā etat payo yad anyavatsāyā goḥ śūdradugdhāyā vāsarvaṃ vā etad agnihotraṃ yan mṛtasyāgnihotram tāvad agniṃ paricareyur yāvad asthnām āharaṇam āhṛtyāgnibhiḥ saṃspṛśya taṃ pitṛmedhena samāpnuyuḥ atha yaḥ samāropitāsamāropite mṛtaḥ syāt kathaṃ tatra kuryāt so 'gnaye tantumate pathikṛte vratabhṛte puroḍāśaṃ nirvaped ekakapālaṃ saptakapālaṃ navakapālam nityāḥ purastāddhomāḥ saṃsthitahomeṣu tvam agne saprathā asi yena pathā vaivasvataḥ tvam agne vratapā asīti madhyata opyātha saṃsrāvabhāgaiḥ saṃsthāpayet atha naṣṭe araṇī syātām anyayor araṇyor vihṛtya taṃ paryagnikṛtvopākurvīta ete vai devaspṛtayaḥ agneṣ ṭe vācaṃ spṛṇomi svāhā vātāt te prāṇaṃ spṛṇomi svāhā sūryāt te cakṣu spṛṇomi svāhā candrāt te mana spṛṇomi svāhā digbhyas te jyoti spṛṇomi svāhā adbhyas te rasaṃ spṛṇomi svāhā asthibhyas te majjānaṃ spṛṇomi svāhā snehebhyas te snāvānaṃ spṛṇomi svāhā oṣadhībhyas te lomāni spṛṇomi svāhā pṛthivyās te śarīraṃ spṛṇomi svāhā antarikṣāt ta ākāśaṃ spṛṇomi svāhā mānuṣāt ta ākāśād divyam ākāśaṃ spṛṇomi svāhā indrāt te balaṃ spṛṇomi svāhā somāt te rājñaḥ kīrttiṃ yaśaś ca spṛṇomi svāhā iti ca hutvāthainaṃ punaḥ pradiśati vāyave tveti atha yasyopākṛtaḥ paśur mriyeta kā tatra prāyaścittiḥ spṛtibhir eva hutvāthainam anudiśaty ṛtave tveti atha yasyopākṛtaḥ paśuḥ saṃśīryeta kā tatra prāyaścittiḥ spṛtibhir eva hutvāthainam anudiśati rakṣobhyas tveti nānudeśanam ity āhuḥ yo vā eṣa prapatito bhavati tad yad enam adhigaccheyur atha tena yajeta atha yāv etau śīrṇamṛtau bhavatas tayoḥ prajñātāny avadānāny avadāyetarasya vā paśoḥ ānuṣṭubhīṃ parṣām adhaḥśirāvapadyasveti taṃ yady antardeśebhyo vā tiṣṭhantam upavadet taṃ brūyāt ......... tasmai namaskuryāt sa cet pratinamaskuryāt kuśalenaivainam yojayet sa cen na pratinamaskuryāt yajñaḥ ādityā anuyājeṣu yad antarā kriyate sa samudraḥ varuṇo 'vabhṛthe samudra ṛjīṣe yad avāre tīrthaṃ tat prāyaṇīyam yat pare tad udayanīyam vaiṣṇavo vaśāyām svar divi kāsu brahma samiṣṭyām yasyā yasyā antataḥ somo vyāpadyeta tasyai tasyai devatāyā iṣṭiṃ nirvaped ājyahomān vā atha juhuyāt tvāṃ yajño viṣṇur iti ca tvāṃ yajño viṣṇur yajñaviṣṇū anūnaṃ hitvā ātmānaṃ deveṣu vidayāmīti vanaspate 'ntataḥ syānuṣṭubhaṃ chandaso yaṃ tam abhyukta etena saṃdadhāmīti saṃdhāya yan me skannam iti skanne yad asmṛtīti ca karmaviparyāseti ca tad yad ṛkta oṃ bhūr janad iti gārhapatye juhuyāt yadi yajuṣṭa oṃ bhuvo janad iti dakṣiṇāgnau juhuyāt yadi sāmata oṃ svar janad ity āhavanīye juhuyāt yady atharvata oṃ bhūr bhuvaḥ svar janad om ity āhavanīya eva juhuyāt atha daivatāni āgneyaṃ hautram vāyavyam ādhvaryavam sauryam audgātram cāndramasaṃ brahmatvam tasya ha vā agnir hotāsīt vāyur adhvaryuḥ sūrya udgātā candramā brahmā pṛthivī vā ṛcām āyatanam agnir jyotir antarikṣaṃ vai yajuṣām āyatanam vāyur jyotir dyaur vai sāmnām āyatanam ādityajyotir āpo 'tharvaṇām āyatanaṃ candramā jyotir iti ca atha yad avocāmāpattau somaṃ ceti yajamānaṃ ced rājānaṃ stena ha vā prathamaś cāhareyuś cittavyāpatyur vā bhavet ity āhāśmarathyaḥ nety āhatuḥ kāṇvagopāyanau yadaiva karmābhyadhvaryur vihitas tadaiva sarvakratūn praty āpado vihitāḥ ity āhur ācāryāḥ atha katham atra yajamānakarmāṇi syuḥ upacārabhakṣapratiś cety adhvaryur asya yajamānakarmāṇi kuryāt atra yajamānāsane mārjālīye vā camasau nidhāya tatrāsya bhakṣakāle bhakṣāṇy upasthāpayeyur ā samiṣṭayajuṣo homāt prāk samiṣṭayajurhomāc ced yajamāna āgacchet samastān eva bhakṣajapān japtvā bhakṣayeccheṣam samāpyāvabhṛtham abhyupeyuḥ atha ha yaṃ jīvan na śrutipathaṃ gacchet kiyantam asya kālam agnihotraṃ juhuyuḥ yady eva hitam āyus tasyāśeṣaṃ prasaṃkhyāya tāvantaṃ kālaṃ tad asyāgnihotraṃ hutvāthāsya prāyaṇīyena pracareyuḥ vyākhyātaḥ pātraviniyogo 'pi yathaiva śarīrādarśane sa cej jīvann āgacchet kathaṃ vā proṣyāgatāya yathākāryaṃ karmāṇi kuryāt sa cet svayamutthaḥ syāt punar asyāgnīn ādhāyādbhutāni vācako japam iti hutvā mārjayitvā tato 'yam āgataḥ karmāṇi kuryāt sa cet punar anutthaḥ syāt tathā saṃsthitam evāsya tad agnihotraṃ bhavati jarāmaryaṃ vā etat sattraṃ yad agnihotram iti ha śrutir bhavati atha ya āhitāgnir vipravasann agnibhiḥ pramīyeta kathaṃ tatra pātraviniyogaṃ pratīyāt ity āhāśmarathyaḥ yady anyāni pātrāṇi yajñāyudhānīty upasādya vihṛtyāgnim āhṛtya prajvālya vihareyur nirmathyam vā prajvālya viharet ity etāvatāṅgaprabhṛtibhiḥ saṃsthāpyaivaṃ pātraviniyogam ity anucchādayet yad yad utsannāḥ syur vāraṇīsahitāni pātrāṇīty apsu samāvapet eṣā te 'gne yo agniḥ tayā me hy āroha tayā me hy āviśety aśmamayāni vā lohamayāni vā brāhmaṇebhyaḥ pradadyāt daśarātraṃ niyatavratāḥ syuḥ saṃvatsaraṃ cāpi gotriṇaḥ ekādaśyāṃ keśaśmaśrulomanakhāni vāpayitvā adbhutāni prāyaścittāni vācākāṃ japam iti hutvā mārjayitvā tato yathāsukhacāriṇo bhavanti atha yady enam anāhitāgnim iva vṛthāgninā daheyur evam asyaiṣa mṛtpātraviniyoga iti patnya bhavatīty āhāśmarathyaḥ nety āhatuḥ kāṇvagopāyanau yadaiva kārmābhy adhvaryur vihitas tadaiva sarvakratūn praty āpado vihitāḥ ity āhur ācāryāḥ atha katham asyām āpattau yathaiva śarīrādarśane vā samāmnātānām āpadāṃ kathaṃ tatra pātraviniyogaṃ pratīyād ity āhāśmarathyaḥ araṇyor agnīn samāropya śarīrāṇām ardham ..... eṣā tūṣṇīṃ nirmathya prajvālya vihṛtya madhye 'gnīnām edhāṃś citvā darbhān saṃstīrya tatrāsya śarīrāṇi nidadhyuḥ bhāruṇḍasāmāni gāpayet yady agāthaḥ syād athāpy asāma kuryāt śarīrādarśane pālāśatsarūṇy āhṛtyāthaitāni puruṣākṛtīni kṛtvā ghṛtenābhyajya māṃsatvagasthy asya ghṛtaṃ ca bhavatīti ha vijñāyate yady āhavanīyo devalokaṃ yadi dakṣiṇāgniḥ pitṛlokaṃ yadi gārhapatyo mānuṣyalokaṃ yadi yugapat sarveṣv asya lokeṣv avaruddhaṃ bhavatīti ha vijñāyate tasmād yugapad eva sarvāṃt sādayitvātha yady enam anvālabheta punar dahet stenam iva tv eva brūyāt yat kiṃ cāvidhivihitaṃ karma kriyate tasyaiṣaiva sarvasya kᄆptiḥ sarvasya prāyaścittiś ceti hi śrutir bhavati athāpy atrāgner ayatā somatanūr bhavati samanvāgamevāvāṃ karmasu sam anv ātrāgamayet yat kiṃcid yajñe viriṣṭam āpadyeta tasyaiṣaiva sarvasya kᄆptiḥ sarvasya prāyaścittiś ca iti hi śrutir bhavati athātaḥ sattriṇāṃ vakṣyāmaḥ pravṛtte tantre 'ntastantre vā gṛhapatir upatāpaḥ yasyāyur gṛhītvānugaccheḥ kāmaṃ tasya putraṃ bhrātaraṃ vopadīkṣya samāpnuyuḥ na samāpnuyuḥ na vā ṛtvijāṃ caikam iva nety āhāśmarathyaḥ na hi gṛhapater upadīkṣā vidyate gṛhapatiṃ samīkṣya yadi manyeta jīved ayam ahorātrāv ity ekāhāny ekadvivāsavane sarvāṇi savanāni samāveśayet yasmiṃs tu samāveśayet tasya savanasya vaśam upayāntītarāṇi savanāni nānātantrāṇi ced api bhavanti durgāpattau ca samāse veṣṭīnāṃ samāveśayed vakṣyakāmaḥ yāḥ kāś caikatantrā iṣṭayaḥ syur avyavahitāḥ kāmaṃ tā ekatantre samāveśya haviṣām ānupūrvyeṇa pracaret prāk sviṣṭakṛto mukhaṃ tu pañcājyāhutīr juhuyāt agnaye somāya viṣṇava indrāgnibhyāṃ prajāpataya iti yadi sauviṣtakṛtyā pracaranti khalu vai yadi bahūni vā sruveṇa yathāvadānenātikrāmet athātaḥ sattriṇāṃ vakṣyāmaḥ pravṛtte tantre saṃnaddhedhmābarhiṣi paścāc candramasaṃ paśyet ya eṣām āmāvāsyāyām āgneyaḥ puroḍāśas taṃ pāthikṛtaṃ karoti prakṛtyetaraṃ vinā etad yajñaś chidyate ya etām antareṣṭiṃ tanvīta iti hi śrutir bhavati atha yasya paurṇamāsyaṃ vā vyāpadyeta kāmaṃ tatra prākṛtīḥ kuryāt tad yaḥ kratur dyāvākrato vā vāyo vidyate 'tha nirvapati āgneyam aṣṭākapālam aindram ekādaśakapālam āsādya havīṃṣi prāyaścittīr juhuyāt yad udagān mahato mahimā asya māno asya jagataḥ pārthivasya mā naḥ prāpad ducchunā kācid anyā kasmai devāya haviṣā paridadema svāheti athātaḥ paśubandhaḥ pari yajñasya bhojyasya bhojyavatkā mo ye kecit tatrasthāḥ paśavaḥ somakāriṇā teṣāṃ bhakṣabhakṣaṇam tad yathā varāhamārjāramāhiṣāṃ śakuno 'nyo 'vadānāni māṃsāni jāṅgalāni ca yady aśiṣaḥ syān māsi māsi ṣaḍḍhotāraṃ juhuyāt sūryaṃ te cakṣur gacchatu vāto ātmānaṃ prāṇo dyāṃ pṛṣṭham antarikṣam ātmāṅgair yajñaṃ pṛthivīṃ śarīraiḥ vācaspate 'chidrayā vācāchidrayā juhvā devāvṛdhaṃ divi hotrām airayat svāheti ṣaḍḍhotāraṃ hutvā prajāpatiḥ sarvam evedam utsṛjet iti hi śrutir bhavati sāṃnāyyaṃ yad udbodhayeyuś ced vatsā vāyavyāyā yavāgvā sāṃnāyyaṃ yajeta apy ekasyāṃ dhītāyām adhītā dohayet adhītābhiḥ saṃsthāpya dhītānām vatsān apākṛtya śvaḥ sāṃnāyyena yajeta sāyaṃdohaṃ ced apahareyuḥ prātardohaṃ dvaidhaṃ kṛtvānyatarat sāyaṃdohasthāne kṛtvobhābhyāṃ yajeta prātardohaṃ ced apahareyuḥ sāyaṃdohaṃ dvaidhaṃ kṛtvānyatarat prātardohasthāne kṛtvobhābhyāṃ yajeta ubhau ced duṣyeyātām aindraṃ pañcaśarāvam odanaṃ nirupyāgneyena pracaryaindreṇānupracared uttarām upoṣya vobhābhyāṃ yajeta sarvāṇi ceddhavīṃṣy apahareyur duṣyeyur vājyena ca devatā yajeta athānyām adoṣām iṣṭiṃ tanvītām apo duṣṭam abhyavahareyuḥ brāhmaṇair abhakṣyaṃ duṣṭaṃ haviḥ bhūtaṃ ced ājyaṃ skanded bhūpataye svāheti tribhiḥ prādeśair diśo mimāya tad yajamāno devāñ janam agann ity anuṣaṅgaḥ yajñasya tvā pramayeti catasṛbhiḥ parigṛhṇīyāt yajñasya tvā pramayonmayābhimayā pratimayā paridadema svāheti anutpūtaṃ ced ājyaṃ skanded vittaṃ prāṇaṃ dadyāt tathotpūtam utpūyamānaṃ ced ghṛtaṃ dadyād athotpūtam utpūyamānaṃ ced ghṛtaṃ prāṇaṃ dadyād devatāntare ced ghṛtam āhutilopavyatyāse tvaṃ no agne sa tvaṃ na iti sarvaprāyaścittaṃ juhuyāt tvaṃ no agne varuṇasya vidvān devasya heḍo 'vayāsisīṣṭhāḥ yajiṣṭho vahnitamaḥ śośucāno viśvā dveṣāṃsi pramumugdhy asmat sa tvaṃ no agne 'vamo bhavotī nediṣṭho asyā uṣaso vyuṣṭau ava yakṣva no varuṇaṃ rarāṇo vīhi mṛḍīkaṃ suhavo na edhi svāheti devatāvadāne yājyānuvākyāvyatyāse 'nāmnātaprāyaścittānāṃ vā yady ṛkto 'bhy ābādhaḥ syād bhūr janad iti gārhapatye juhuyāt yadi yajuṣṭa oṃ bhuvo janad iti dakṣiṇāgnau juhuyāt yadi sāmata oṃ svar janad ity āhavanīye juhuyāt yady anājñātā brahmata om bhūr bhuvaḥ svar janad om ity āhavanīya eva juhuyād ājyabhāgānte sve devatām āvāhayiṣyan yasyaiva havir niruptaṃ syāt tatontayā yajetājyasyaitāni nirupya yadi bhāginīṃ nāvāhayed yatra smaret tatrainām upotthāyāvāhyāvāpasthāne yajeta barhiṣi skanne nādriyeta dakṣiṇena ced yajetārdharcāt pratiṣṭhāṃ dadyāt puroḍāśe duḥśrite sarpiṣy annaṃ catuḥśarāvam odanaṃ brāhmaṇebhyo dadyāt tatas tam eva punar nirvapet puroḍāśe vikṣāme yato 'syākṣāmaḥ syāt tato yajeta dveṣyāya taṃ dadyād dakṣiṇāṃ ca puroḍāśe sarvakṣāme nirvapaṇaprabhṛtyām udāhṛtya kapāle naṣṭa ekahāyanaṃ dadyāt dhātā dadhātu pituḥ pitānaṣṭo gharmo viśvāyur yato jātas tato 'py avāṃ svāheti juhuyāt kapāle bhinne gāyatryā tvā śatākṣarayā saṃdadhāmīti saṃdhāya dhātā dadhātv ity eva juhuyāt āgneyam ekakapālaṃ nirvaped āśvinaṃ dvikapālaṃ vaiṣṇavaṃ trikapālaṃ saumyaṃ catuḥkapālaṃ naṣṭe bhinne ca bhārgavo hotā kīṭāvapannaṃ sānnāyyaṃ madhyamena parṇena mahī dyauḥ ity antaḥparidhideśe ninayet mahī dyauḥ pṛthivī ca na imaṃ yajñaṃ mimikṣatāṃ pipṛtāṃ no bharīmabhiḥ svāhā iti prāk prayājebhyo 'ṅgāraṃ barhiṣy adhiṣkanden namas te astv āyate namo astu parāyate namo yatra niṣīdasi ity abhimantryāhaṃ yajñaṃ dadhe nirṛter upasthāt taṃ deveṣu paridadāmi vidvān suprajās tvaṃ śataṃ hi māmadanta iha no devā mahi śarma yacchatety ādāya sahasraśṛṅgaḥ ity anuprahṛtya mā no mahāntaṃ tvaṃ no agne somānaṃ svaraṇaṃ kṛṇuhi brahmaṇaspate kakṣīvantaṃ ya auśijaḥ sa tvaṃ no 'gne vṛṣabhaṃ carṣaṇīnāṃ viśvarūpam adābhyaṃ bṛhaspatiṃ vareṇyaṃ ud uttamaṃ mumugdhi no vi pāśaṃ madhyamaṃ cṛta avādhamāni bādhata ud uttamaṃ varuṇa ity etābhir juhuyāt sarvāṇi ced āhutivelāyāṃ patny anālambhukā syāt tām aparudhya yajeta samāpyāmo 'ham asmi sā tvam iti tasyā dakṣiṇaṃ hastam anvālabhyopāhvayīta āhutiś ced bahiṣparidhi skanded āgnīdhraṃ brūyuḥ saṃkrahiṣyāṃ tvā juhudhīti tasmai pūrṇapātraṃ dadyāt puroḍāśaś ced adhiśrita udvijed utpated vā tam udvāsya barhiṣy āsādayet kim utpatasi kim utproṣṭhāḥ śāntaḥ śānter ihāgahi aghoro yajñiyo bhūtvāsīda sadanaṃ svam āsīda sadanaṃ svam mā hiṃsīr deva preṣita ājyena tejasājyasya mā naḥ kiṃcana rīriṣaḥ yogakṣemasya śāntyā asmin āsīda barhir iti taptaṃ cet karma tv antariyāt sarvaprāyaścittaṃ hutvā modvijet nāṅgāhutim antarhitāṃ dadyāt na tapavarganimittābhāvāt pradhānalope 'ntarāye vā nirvaped vyāpadyeta śeṣaś ced vyāpadyetājyena sviṣṭakṛdiḍe samāpnuyāt samāpte ced duṣṭo na kṛtām antarāṃ vā vidyāt punariṣṭir abhyāvarteta yajño yajñasya prāyaścittir bhavatīti agnyādheye samitsv āhitāsu nāgniṃ gṛhād uddhareyur nānyata āhareyuḥ na prayāyān nānugacchet yadi prayāyād anugacched vā saṃvatsaraṃ saṃvatsarābhiprāyo vā yadi tvared brahmaudanaṃ paktvā punaḥ samidham abhyādadhyāt agnihotraṃ ced anabhyuddhṛtaṃ śaraśarāsyād amuṃ samūheti brūyāt viṣyannam agne tvaṃ na iti juhuyāt madhyamena parṇena mahī dyaur iti tad antaḥparidhideśe ninayet duhyamānā ced avabhindyād anyasyāṃ sthālyāṃ dohayitvādhiśrayet adhiśriyamāṇaṃ cet skanded adhiśritam unnīyamānam unnītaṃ punar eva sannam ahutaṃ skandet punar ānīyānyāṃ dohayitvādhiśrityonnīya juhuyāt prācīnaṃ ceddhriyamāṇaṃ skandet prajāpater viśvabhṛtaḥ skannāhutam asi svāheti dohanaprabhṛtyā homa skandet samudraṃ tvā prahiṇomīty apo ninīyod uttamam ity abhimantryod uttamaṃ mumugdhi na ud uttamam varuṇeti vāruṇyenājyāhutīr juhuyāt chāvalīdeva sāyaṃ yasya skanno homaḥ syāt prātar nāśnīyāt prātar yasya skanno homaḥ syāt sāyaṃ nāśnīyāt mantraskannaṃ ced abhivarṣen mitro janān yātayatīti samidham ādhāyānyāṃ dugdhvā punar juhuyāt mitro janān yātayati bruvāṇo mitro dādhāra pṛthivīm uta dyām mitraḥ kṛṣṭīr animiṣābhicaṣṭe mitrāya havyaṃ ghṛtavaj juhota svāheti mantrasaṃskṛtaṃ kīṭāvapannaṃ hiraṇyagarbha iti valmīkavapāyām avanīyānyāṃ dugdhvā punar juhuyāt agnihotraṃ ced anabhyuddhṛtaṃ sūryo 'bhyudiyād ihaiva kṣemya edhi mā prahāsīr mām amum āmuṣyāyaṇam iti śamayitvā praṇīya pravṛttātipattau maitraṃ caruṃ nirvapet sauryam ekakapālaṃ varo dakṣiṇā agnīn upasamādhāya yajamānaḥ patnī vābhuñjānau vāgyatāv araṇīpāṇī sarvāhṇam upāsīyātām dvayor gavoḥ sāyam agnihotraṃ juhuyāt agnaye vaiśvānarāya dvādaśakapālaṃ puroḍāśaṃ nirvapet yadi hy ayaṃ divā prajāsu hi manyeta sajūr jātavedo divā pṛthivyā haviṣo vīhi svāheti sajūruho vā syāt sajūr agnaye divā pṛthivyā haviṣo vīhi svāheti dvādaśarātram agnihotraṃ juhuyāt yadi na viramayed agnaye suśīryatamo juṣasva svāhety aparaṃ dvādaśarātraṃ niśāyāḥ sāyamāhuter atipattir prātarāśe prātarāhuter āsādyāgnihotram ā tamitor āsīta saṃsthāpyauṃ bhūr bhuvaḥ svar janad doṣāvastoḥ svāheti juhuyāt atha prātar aharaha rātriṃ rātrim ity upasthāne syāt agnaye 'bhyujjuṣasva svāheti sruveṇa gārhapatye juhuyāt yasyānnaṃ nādyāt tasmai brāhmaṇāya dadyāt adhastāt samidham āharet smṛtāgnihotrī tiraśco darbhān dakṣiṇāgrān kuryāt yasyobhāv anugatau sūryo 'bhinimloced abhyudiyād vāraṇiṃ gatā vā naśyeyur asamārūḍhā vā prakṛtyaiva punar ādadhīta agnihotraṃ ced anabhyuddhṛtaṃ sūryo 'bhinimloced brāhmaṇo bahuvid uddharet yo brāhmaṇo bahuvit syāt samuddharet sarveṇaivainaṃ tad brāhmaṇa uddhared yenāntarhitaṃ hiraṇyam agrato haret vāruṇaṃ yavamayaṃ caruṃ nirvaped ita eva prathamam iti ita eva prathamaṃ jajñe agnir ābhyo yonibhyo adhi jātavedāḥ sa gāyatryā triṣṭubhā jagatyānuṣṭubhā devo devebhyo havyaṃ vahatu prajānann iti paścād gārhapatyalakṣaṇasyāraṇī nidhāya mathitvā iṣe rayyai ramasvety ādadhyāt iṣe rayyai ramasva sahase dyumna ūrje 'patyāya saṃrāḍ asi svarāḍ asi sārasvatau tvotsau prāvatām iti yaḥ kaś cāgnīnām anugacchen nirmanthyaś ced dakṣiṇāgnim ahute cet sāyaṃ pūrvo 'nugacched agnihotram adhiśrityonnīyāgninā pūrveṇoddhṛtyāgnihotreṇānudravet adattapūrvadhanaṃ dadyāt śvas tapasvatīṃ nirvapet āyāhi tapasā janiṣv agne pāvako arciṣā upemāṃ suṣṭutiṃ mama ā no yāhi tapasā janeṣv āgne pāvaka dīdyat havyā deveṣu no dadhad iti havīṃṣi dadyāt sāyam ahutam atītarasminn etad eva prāyaścittam anyatrāpi ṣṇutyā cet ahute cet prātaḥ pūrvo 'nugacched avadāheṣum aśnīyāt teṣv alabhyamāneṣu bhasmanāraṇiṃ saṃspṛśya mathitvāvadadhyāt agnaye jyotiṣmata iṣṭiṃ nirvapet ahute cet prātar aparo vānugacched anugamayitvā pūrvaṃ mathitvāparam uddhṛtya juhuyāt tvaramāṇaḥ pūrvam agnim anvavasāya tataḥ paścāt prāñcam uddhṛtya juhuyāt uparuddhe cen mathyamāno na jāyeta yatra dīpyamānaṃ parāpaśyet tata āhṛtyāgnihotraṃ juhuyāt yadi taṃ na vinded brāhmaṇasya dakṣiṇe pāṇau juhuyāt tato brāhmaṇaṃ na paricakṣīta yadi taṃ na vinded ajāyā dakṣiṇe karṇe juhuyāt tato 'jāṃ nāśnīyāt yadi tāṃ na vinded darbhastambeṣu juhuyāt tato darbheṣu nāsīta yadi tān na vinded apsu juhuyāt tato 'dbhiḥ pādau na prakṣālayīta yadi tān na vindeddhiraṇye juhuyāt tato hiraṇyaṃ na bibhṛyāt āpadi mathitvā vihṛtyāgnihotraṃ juhuyāt agnihotre ced anabhyuddhṛte haviṣi vā nirupte śakuniḥ śyenaḥ śvā vāntareṇa vyaveyād idaṃ viṣṇur iti idaṃ viṣṇur vicakrame tredhā nidadhe padaṃ samūḍham asya pāṃsure pra tad viṣṇur iti bhasmanā padam upavapet ano rathāsya puruṣo vā vyaveyād yad agne pūrvaṃ nihitaṃ padaṃ hi te sūryasya raśmīn anvātatāna tatra rayiṣṭhām anusaṃbharaitāṃ saṃ naḥ sṛja sumatyā vājavatyety ādadhyāt anvāhitāgniś cet prayāyāt tubhyaṃ tā aṅgirasastama viśvāḥ sukṣitayaḥ pṛthag agne kāmāya yemire iti hutvā prayāyāt anvāhitaś ced anugacched anv agnir ity anyaṃ praṇīyāgnyanvādhānavratopāyanābhyāṃ manasopasthāya bhūr iti vyāharet pāthikṛtī syāt patho 'ntikād darbhān āharet anaḍvān dakṣiṇā sarvatra pāthikṛtyām anaḍvān agnīnāṃ cet kaścid upavakṣayet sa śamyāyāḥ prāgvāsaṃ pāthikṛtī syāt śamyāyāḥ parāk parāsyāc ced idaṃ ta ekam iti tānt saṃbharet para ū ta ekam iti dvitīyaṃ dvitīyena tṛtīyaṃ tṛtīyena jyotiṣeti tasmād avakhyāyās tatra nirvapet adhi ced anuprāyāya mathitvā tatraikān vaset kālātipāte ca darśapūrṇamāsayoḥ vidhyardhasamāpte ced aparādhaṃ vidyāt trīn haviṣyāt agnaye vaiśvānarāya dvādaśakapālaṃ puroḍāśaṃ nirvapet yasya havir niruptaṃ purastāc candramā abhyudiyāt tāṃs tredhā taṇḍulān vibhajet ye madhyamās tān agnaye dātre 'ṣṭākapālaṃ puroḍāśaṃ nirvapet ye sthaviṣṭhās tān indrāya pradātre dadhani caruṃ ye kṣodiṣṭhās tān viṣṇave śipiviṣṭāya śrite prāg ukte taṇḍulābhāvād ardhaṃ vā vidyāt agnaye vītaye 'ṣṭākapālam puroḍāśaṃ nirvaped yasyāgnayo mithaḥ saṃsṛjyeran agnaye vivicaye 'ṣṭākapālaṃ puroḍāśaṃ nirvaped yasyāgnayo grāmyeṇāgninā saṃsṛjyeran agnaye śucaye 'ṣṭākapālaṃ puroḍāśaṃ nirvaped yasyāgnayaḥ śāvenāgninā saṃsṛjyeran agnaye 'nnādāyānnapataye 'ṣṭākapālaṃ puroḍāśaṃ nirvaped yasyāgnayo dāvenāgninā saṃsṛjyeran agnaye jyotiṣmate 'ṣṭākapālaṃ puroḍāśaṃ nirvaped yasyāgnayo divyenāgninā saṃsṛjyeran agnaye 'gnimate 'ṣṭākapālaṃ puroḍāśaṃ nirvaped yasyāgnayo 'bhiplaveran agnaye 'gnimate 'ṣṭākapālaṃ puroḍāśaṃ nirvaped ya āhavanīyam anugatam abhyuddharet agnaye kṣāmavate 'ṣṭākapālaṃ puroḍāśaṃ nirvaped yasyāhitāgner agnigṛhān agnir dahed anagnir gṛhān vā agnaye vratapataye 'ṣṭākapālaṃ puroḍāśaṃ nirvaped ya āhitāgnir ārtijam aśru kuryāt tataḥ pravaset agnaye vratabhṛte 'ṣṭākapālaṃ puroḍāśaṃ nirvapet parvaṇi yo vratavelāyām avratyaṃ cared agnaye tantumate 'ṣṭākapālaṃ puroḍāśaṃ nirvaped yasya saṃtatam agnihotraṃ juhuyuḥ atha saṃnipatiteṣu prāyaścitteṣu vaivicīṃ prathamāṃ kuryāt tato 'gnaye śucaye vrātapatīm antataḥ kṣāmavatīṃ parivartayed yasyāgniṣv anyaṃ yājayed yo vā yajet mārutaṃ trayodaśakapālaṃ puroḍāśaṃ nirvaped yasya yamau putrau jāyeyātāṃ gāvo vā yamasūr dakṣiṇā dhenur bhāryā vā pṛṣadājyaṃ cet skannaṃ skannā dyaur ity abhimantrya skannā dyauḥ skannā pṛthivī skannaṃ viśvam idaṃ jagat skannādo viśve devāḥ prā skannāt prāyatāṃ havir ity abhimantryeha gāvaḥ prajāyadhvam ity anyasya pṛṣadājyasya juhuyāt paśugavā cet sruvair hutvāsrāvaṃ yāty avadānam akarmety anyasyāṃ dṛḍhatarāyāṃ śrapayeyuḥ yady avadānaṃ na vindet tadājyasyāvadyet upākṛtaś cet paśuḥ prapated vāyavyāṃ yavāgūṃ nirupyānyaṃ tadrūpaṃ tadvarṇam iti samānaṃ atha yasyāhargaṇe 'visamāpte yūpo virohet pravṛhya yūpavirūḍhāny avalopya tapo hy agne antarām amitrāṃ tapa śaṃsam araruṣaḥ parasya tapo vaso cikitāno acittān vi te tiṣṭhantām ajarā ayāsaḥ yo naḥ sanutyo abhidāsad agne yo antaro mitramaho vanuṣyāt tam ajarebhir vṛṣabhis tava svais tapā tapiṣṭha tapasā tapasvān yasmāt kṛṇoti ketum ā naktaṃ cid dūra ā sate pāvako yad vanaspatīn yasmān minoty ajaro nabhihita iti dve pañcabhir aparaṃ paryukṣya suparṇā vācam iti virūḍhāni hutvā punaḥsamāyāt tasmiṃs tvāṣṭram ajaṃ piṅgalaṃ paśuṃ bahurūpam ālabheta agninā tapo 'nvabhavat vācā brahma maṇinā rūpāṇi indreṇa devān vātena prāṇān sūryeṇa dyāṃ candramasā nakṣatrāṇi yamena pitṝn rājñā manuṣyān upalena nādeyān ajagareṇa sarpān vyāghreṇāraṇyān paśūn śyenena patatriṇaḥ vṛṣṇāśvān ṛṣabheṇa gāḥ bastenājāḥ vṛṣṇināvīḥ vrīhiṇānnāni yavenauṣadhīḥ nyagrodhena vanaspatīn udumbarenorjaṃ gāyatryā chandāṃsi trivṛtā stomān brāhmaṇena vācam iti brahmā pūrṇāhutiṃ juhuyāt athātaḥ saumikāni vyākhyāsyāmaḥ havirdhāne cet prapateyātāṃ purā bahiṣpavamānād adhvaryur dakṣiṇam udgṛhṇīyāt pratiprasthātopastabhnuyāt pratiprasthātottaram udgṛhṇīyāt adhvaryur upastabhnuyād yathāprakṛti stambhānopamānau sam aśvinor avasā nūtanena mayobhuvā supraṇītī gamema ā no rayiṃ vahatam ota vīrān ā viśvāny amṛtā saubhagāni śiro yajñasya pratidhīyatām amṛtaṃ devatāmayaṃ vaiṣṇavyāḥ kriyatāṃ śira āśvinyāḥ pratihrīyatāṃ amṛtāṁ dyubhir aktubhiḥ paripātam asmān ariṣṭebhir aśvinā saubhagebhiḥ tan no mitro varuṇo māmahantām aditiḥ sindhuḥ pṛthivī uta dyaur ity āgnīdhrīye juhuyāt audumbarīṃ ced apahareyur yām eva kāṃcit pracchidyāvadadhyād adhvaryur udgātā yajamānaḥ ūrg asy ūrjaṃ mayi dhehi śriyāṃ tiṣṭha pratiṣṭhitā divaṃ stabdhvāntarikṣaṃ ca pṛthivyāṃ ca dṛḍhā bhaveti dhartri dharitri janitri yamitrīti brahmā antaḥsadaso bahiṣpavamānena stūyuḥ dīkṣitasya gārhapatyo 'nte gārhapatyo 'nugacchet agniṃ naro dīdhitibhir araṇyor hastacyutī janayanta praśastam dūredṛśaṃ gṛhapatim atharyum iti mathitvāvadadhyāt āśv anupraṇītaś ced anugacched etayaiva mathitvāvadadhyāt agnayaś cen mithaḥ saṃsṛjyerann agnināgniḥ saṃsṛjyata ity ete japet śālāmukhīyaś ced anugacched gārhapatyāt praṇīya bhadraṃ karṇebhir iti catasro japet bhadraṃ karṇebhiḥ śṛṇuyāma devā bhadraṃ paśyemākṣabhir yajatrāḥ sthirair aṅgais tuṣṭuvāṃsas tanūbhir vyaśema devahitaṃ yad āyuḥ svasti na indro vṛddhaśravāḥ svasti naḥ pūṣā viśvavedāḥ svasti nas tārkṣyo 'riṣṭanemiḥ svasti no bṛhaspatir dadhātu pṛṣadaśvā marutaḥ pṛśnimātaraḥ śubhaṃyāvāno vidatheṣu jagmayaḥ agnijihvā manavaḥ sūracakṣaso viśve no devā avasā gamann iha śatam in nu śarado anti devā yatra naś cakrā jarasaṃ tanūnāṃ putrāso yatra pitaro bhavanti mā no madhyā rīriṣatāyur gantoḥ iti preddho agna iti catasṛbhir juhuyāt preddho agne dīdihi puro no 'jasrayā sūrmyā yaviṣṭha tvāṃ śaśvanta upa yanti vājāḥ sapta te agne samidhaḥ sapta jihvāḥ saptarṣayaḥ sapta dhāma priyāṇi sapta hotrāḥ saptadhā tvā yajanti sapta yonīr āpṛṇasva ghṛtena svāhā yan me manasaś chidraṃ yad vāco yac ca me hṛdaḥ ayaṃ devo bṛhaspatiḥ saṃ tat siñcatu rādhasā mamāgne varca iti ekāgnidhrīyaś ced anugacched gārhapatyāt praṇīya mamāgne varca iti ṣaḍbhir juhuyāt auttaravedikaś ced anugacchec chālāmukhīyāt praṇīyemo agna iti trayodaśabhir juhuyāt imo agne vītatamāni havyājasro vakṣi devatātim acchā prati na īṃ surabhīṇi vyantu sapta te agne samidhaḥ yan me manasaś chidraṃ mamāgne varca iti juhuyāt paśuśrapaṇaś ced anugacched auttaravedikāt praṇīya te agna ārdrā yonayo yāḥ kulāyinīḥ ye te agna indavo yā u nābhayaḥ yās te agne tanva ūrjo nāma tābhiṣ ṭvam ubhayībhiḥ saṃvidānaḥ śataṃ cinvānas tanvā niṣīdata sākaṃ hi śucinā śuciḥ praśastā kratunājani vidvān asya vratā dhruvā vayā ivānurohata ity ādhāya samidhaṃ kṛṣṇāṃ dadyāt vāsoyugaṃ dhenuṃ vā yady ukhā vā bhidyeta tair eva kapālaiḥ saṃcityānyāṃ kṛtvā syūtā devebhir amṛtenāgā ukhāṃ pavate sutaḥ pratnāni pāti kāvyaḥ goṣā indo nṛṣā asy aśvasā vājasā uta pratnāni pāti kāvyaḥ devānāṃ deva iti dve dhruvaś ced upadasyet pravṛttā cet sthālī syād vasavas tvādīs tarpayantu rudrās tvā tarpayantu ādityās tvā tarpayantvity utsṛjya dhruvā dyaur ity abhimantrya dhruvaṃ dhruveṇeti gṛhītvāyurdā asi dhruva iti catasṛbhir āgnīdhrīye juhuyāt āyurdā asi dhruva āyur me dāḥ svāhā varcodā asi dhruvo varco me dāḥ svāhā tejodā asi dhruvas tejo me dāḥ svāhā sahodā asi dhruvaḥ saho me dāḥ svāhā grāvṇi śīrṇe dyotānasya mārutasya brahmasāmena stuvīrann ity eke bhakṣaṇīyam uparaveṣv apinayet apidagdhe some kṛtāṃtvād upakrameraṇyaṃ vacanāt japtvā purā dvādaśyā punar dīkṣāvāṃtādviti tatra tā dadyād yāḥ kasyai tvā dāsya bhavati tathaivainām ṛtvijo yājayeyuḥ yady akrītasomam apahareyur anyaḥ krītavyaḥ yadi krīto naṣṭaḥ syāt sā nityābhiṣicyaḥ rājāhāra iti kiṃcid deyaṃ tenāsya sa parikrīto bhavati yadi somaṃ na vindeyuḥ pūtīkān abhiṣuṇuyuḥ yadi na pūtīkān arjunāny atha yā eva kāś cauṣadhīr āhṛtyābhiṣuṇuyuḥ pañcadakṣiṇaṃ kratuṃ saṃsthāpayeyur ekadakṣiṇaṃ vā yena yajñena kāmayeta tena yajeta atra yat kāmayeta tatra tad dadyāt prātaḥsavanāc cet kalaśo vidīryeta vaiṣṇavīṣu śipiviṣṭavatīṣu tṛcā stūyuḥ mādhyaṃdinaś cet pavamāne samādhyaṃdināt pavamānā yadi mādhyaṃdinārbhavasya pavamānasya purastād vaṣaṭkāranidhanaṃ sāma kuryāt yadi tṛtīyasavana etad eva bhūmir bhūmim agān mātā mātaram apy agāt ṛdhyāsma putraiḥ paśubhir yo no dveṣṭi sa bhidyatām iti yan mārttikaṃ bhidyeta tadāpo gamayet tathaiva dārumayaṃ ya ṛte cid abhiśriṣa ity etayālabhyābhimantrayate sarvatra śīrṇe bhinne naṣṭe 'nyaṃ kṛtvā punar maitv indriyam ity ādadīta bahiṣpavamānaṃ cet sarpatāṃ prastotā vicchidyeta brahmaṇe varaṃ dattvā tatas tam eva punar vṛṇīyāt yad udgātā vicchidyeta sarvavedasadakṣiṇena yajñena yajeta evaṃ sarveṣāṃ vicchinnānāṃ sarpatām ekaikasmin kuryāt dyauś ca ma indraś ca me tantuṃ tanvan mā pra gāma patho vayam iti śastrāc cec chastram anuśaṃsan vyāpadyeta mā pragāma patho vayam iti ayaṃ no agnir adhyakṣa iti dvābhyāṃ pānnejanyāś ced upadasyet saṃ mā siñcantviti saṃsiñcet atha ceddhutāhutau somau pītāpītau vā saṃsṛjyeyātāṃ yajñasya hi stha ṛtvijā gavīndrāgnī kalpatā yuvaṃ hutāhutasya cāsyā yasyendrāgnī vītaṃ pibata ghṛtam imāṃ ghṛtam iti dvābhyāṃ juhuyāt prātaḥsavanāc cet kalaśo vidīryeta vaiṣṇavatīṣu śipiviṣṭavatīṣu gaurīvitena stūyuḥ samānajanapadau cet somau saṃsavau syātāṃ pūrvo 'gniṃ parigṛhṇīyāt pūrvo devatāḥ parigṛhṇīyāt nātirātryā prātaranuvākam upākuryāt abhiṣṭāvyātha saṃveśāyopaveśāya gāyatryai chandase 'bhibhūtyai svāheti purastāt prātaranuvākasya juhuyāt triṣṭubha iti mādhyaṃdine vidviṣāṇayoḥ saṃsavāv iti vijñāyate savanīyānantaram agnaye yaviṣṭhāyāṣṭākapālam ity āhavanīye mahad abhyādadhyāt saṃbhārāṇāṃ caturbhiś caturbhiḥ pratidiśaṃ juhuyāt samāpnuyuḥ sa cen mriyetāgnibhya eva trīn aṅgārān uddhṛtya dakṣiṇaṃ pāṇiṃ śroṇiṃ pratitapyaiva dagdhvā hotuḥ pramukhā ṛtvijaḥ prācīnāvītaṃ kṛtvā dakṣiṇān ūrūn āghnānāḥ sarparājñīnāṃ kīrtayantaḥ stotre ādityaṃ purastān na paśyeyur aśvaṃ śvetaṃ rukmapratihitaṃ purastād avasthāpya sauryaṃ śvetaṃ gajam upālambhyam ālabheta tasya tāny eva tantrāṇi yāni savanīyasyuḥ purastāt saṃdhi camasāsavānām anupradānaṃ syāt aśvamedhe ced aśvo nāgacched āgneyo 'ṣṭākapāla iti mṛgākhare ṣaḍḍhaviṣkām iṣṭiṃ nirvaped daśahaviṣam ity eke vaḍavāṃ ced aśvo 'bhīyād agnaye 'ṃhomuce 'ṣṭākapālaṃ sauryaṃ payo vāyavyāv ājyabhāgau somarūpeṣūkta ācāryakalpaḥ brāhmaṇaṃ tu bhavati trayastriṃśad vai yajñasya tanvaḥ ity ekānnatriṃśo pākanagnim aśvaṇām ity arthalopān nivṛttiḥ trīṇi vā caturgṛhītāny anuvākasyety ācāryā ete rathaḥ svaśvo viśa ājigāti yena gacchathaḥ sukṛto duroṇaṃ tena narā vartir asmabhyaṃ yātaṃ ṛṣiṃ narāv aṃhasaḥ pāñcajanyam ṛbīṣād atriṃ muñcatho gaṇena minantā dasyor aśivasya māyā anupūrvaṃ vṛṣaṇā
