prati bāhum anvavahṛtya nābhideśam abhimṛśati yuvā suvāsāḥ parivīta āgāt sa u śreyān bhavati jāyamānaḥ taṃ dhīrāsaḥ kavaya unnayanti svādhiyo manasā devayanta iti athāsya dakṣiṇaṃ karṇam ājapati bhāradvājo vā athāsyāṣṭācatvāriṃśadvarṣāṇi purāṇaṃ vedabrahmacaryaṃ sampradiśanti ā vedādhyayanād ity eka āhuḥ ā godānakarmaṇa ityeke athainaṃ dakṣiṇe pāṇāvabhipadyotthāpayaty ud āyuṣā svāyuṣeti ādityam udīkṣayati taccakṣurdevahitaṃ purastācchukram uccarat paśyema śaradaḥ śataṃ jīvema śaradaḥ śataṃ nandāma śaradaḥ śataṃ modāma śaradaḥ śataṃ bhavāma śaradaḥ śataṃ śṛṇavāma śaradaḥ śataṃ prabravāma śaradaḥ śatam ajītāḥ syāma śaradaḥ śataṃ jyokca sūryaṃ dṛśa iti tato bhikṣate yāṃ manyata iyaṃ mā na pratyākhyāsyatīti tām āhṛtyopanidhāyācāryāya prāha tisro bhikṣate 'parimitā vā trirātram akṣāralavaṇāśyadhaḥśāyī bhavati athāsya caturthyāṃ medhājananam kurvanti yatraikamūlaḥ palāśaḥ prācīṃ vodīcīṃ vā diśaṃ taṃ parisamūhya prakṣālya pradakṣiṇam ājyenābhyañjañjapati suśravaḥ suśravasaṃ mā kuru yathā tvaṃ suśravaḥ suśravā asy evaṃ māṃ suśravaḥ suśravasaṃ kuru yathā tvaṃ suśravo devānāṃ vedeṣu nidhigopo'sy evam ahaṃ brāhmaṇānāṃ vedeṣu nidhigopo bhūyāsam iti athāsya ṣoḍaśavarṣasya godānaṃ kurvanti tasya cauḍena kalpo vyākhyātaḥ etāvan nānā sarvān keśān vāpayate gurave gāṃ varaṃ dadāti na prāg godānakarmaṇa snānīyam abhiharate na gandhān saṃvatsaraṃ kṛtagodāno brahmacaryaṃ caraty agnigodāno vā bhavati catvāri vivāhakaraṇāni vittaṃ rūpaṃ prajñā bāndhavam iti tāni cet sarvāṇi na śaknuyād vittam udasyet tato rūpam prajñāyāṃ ca tu bāndhave ca vivadante bāndhavam udasyed ityeka upagṛhṇīta atha khalu bahūni lakṣaṇāni bhavanti ślokaṃ tu lākṣaṇā udāharanti yasyāṃ mano 'nuramate cakṣuśca pratipadyate tāṃ vidyāt puṇyalakṣmīkāṃ kiṃ jñānena kariṣyatīti udagayana upagṛhṇīta vijñāyata udagayanaṃ devānāmiti daivaṃ punar idaṃ karma dakṣiṇāyana ityaparam vijñāyate dakṣiṇāyanaṃ pitṝṇām iti pitṛsaṃyuktaṃ punaridaṃ karma pūrvapakṣa upagṛhṇīta vijñāyate pūrvapakṣo devānām iti upagṛhṇīta vijñāyate madhyaṃdinam ṛṣīṇām iti ṛṣisaṃyuktaṃ punaridaṃ karma athāpi vijñāyate tasmānmadhyaṃdine sarvāṇi puṇyāni saṃnipatitāni bhavantīti aparāhṇa upagṛhṇīta vijñāyate 'parāhṇaḥ pitṝṇāmiti pitṛsaṃyuktaṃ punaridaṃ karma athāpi vijñāyate bhagasyāparāhṇa iti bhagasaṃyuktaṃ punaridaṃ karma athāpi vijñāyate tasmād aparāhṇe kumāryo bhagam icchamānāś carantīti puṇyāha upagṛhṇīta api vai khalu loke puṇyāha eva karmāṇi cikīrṣante tasmād aślīlanāmaṃś citre nāvasyenna yajeta yathā pāpāhe kurute tādṛgeva taditi paricaṣṭa eva pāpāham vijñāyate tu khalv ekeṣām invakābhiḥ prasṛjyante te varāḥ pratininditā maghābhir gāvo gṛhyante phalgunībhyāṃ vyūhyata iti yāṃ kāmayeta duhitaraṃ priyā syād iti tāṃ niṣṭyāyāṃ dadyāt priyaiva bhavati naiva tu punarāgacchatīti vijñāyate tata āha snāpayatainām rāyaśca poṣam upasaṃvyayasveti parihitām abhimantrayate parīdaṃ vāso adhidhāḥ svastaye 'bhūr āpīnām abhiśastipāvatī śataṃ ca jīva śaradaḥ purūcīr vasūni cāryā vibhajāsi jīvatīti athāsyā agreṇa jñātikulam agnim upasamādhāyāghārāv āghāryājyabhāgau juhoty agnaye janivide svāhety uttarārdhapūrvārdhe somāya janivide svāheti dakṣiṇārdhapūrvārdhe tata etā āhutīr juhoti bhūḥ svāhā bhuvaḥ svāhā suvaḥ svāhā bhūrbhuvaḥ suvaḥ svāhā yā tiraścī yānūcī saṃrādhanyai prasādhanyai sadasaspatiṃ yukto vaha jātaveda iti jayābhyātānān rāṣṭrabhṛta iti hutvaitā āhutīr juhoti agnir aitu prathamo devatānāṃ so'syai prajāṃ muñcatu mṛtyupāśāt tad ayaṃ rājā varuṇo 'numanyatāṃ yatheyaṃ strī pautramaghaṃ na rodāt svāhā imām agnis trāyatāṃ gārhapatyaḥ prajām asyai nayatu dīrgham āyuḥ aśūnyopasthā jīvatām astu mātā pautram ānandam abhiprabudhyatām iyaṃ svāhā mā te gṛhe niśi ghoṣa utthād anyatra tvad rudatyaḥ saṃviśantu mā tvaṃ vikeśyura āvadhiṣṭhā jīvapatnī patiloke virāja paśyantī prajāṃ sumanasyamānāṃ svāhā dyaus te pṛṣṭhaṃ rakṣatu vāyur ūrū aśvinau ca stanaṃ dhayantaṃ savitābhirakṣatu ā vāsasaḥ paridhānād bṛhaspatir viśve devā abhirakṣantu paścātsvāhā aprajastāṃ pautramṛtyuṃ pāpmānamuta vāgham śīrṣṇaḥ srajam ivonmucya dviṣadbhyaḥ pratimuñcāmi pāśaṃ svāheti pūrṇā paścād imaṃ me varuṇa tat tvā yāmi tvaṃ no agne sa tvaṃ no agne tvam agne ayāsy ayāś cāgne 'sy anabhiśastīśca yad asya karmaṇo 'tyarīricaṃ prajāpata ityuttamāṃ hutvā gurave varaṃ dadāti apareṇāgniṃ dvayān darbhān pūrvāparān udagagrān stṛṇāti teṣu pūrvāparāv upatiṣṭhete prāṅmukhaḥ pratyaṅmukhyā hastaṃ gṛhṇīyād ity ekam pratyaṅmukhaḥ prāṅmukhyā ityaparam athainayoḥ praiṣakṛd añjalī udakena pūrayati athāsyāñjalināñjalāv udakam ānayati śaṃ no devīrabhiṣṭaya āpo bhavantu pītaye śaṃ yor abhisravantu na iti athāsyā dakṣiṇena hastena dakṣiṇaṃ hastam abhīvāṅguṣṭhamabhīva lomāni gṛhṇāti devasya tvā savituḥ prasave 'śvinor bāhubhyāṃ pūṣṇo hastābhyām hastena te hastaṃ gṛhṇāmi saubhagatvāya mayā patyā gārhapatyāya devāḥ tāṃ naḥ pūṣañchivatamām erayasva yasyāṃ bījaṃ manuṣyā vapanti yā na ūrū uśatī visrayātai yasyāmuśantaḥ praharema śepham somaḥ prathamo vivide gandharvas tato 'paraḥ tṛtīyo agniṣ ṭe patis turīyas te manuṣyajāḥ somo dadad gandharvāya gandharvo 'gnaye dadat rayiṃ ca putrāṃś cādād agnir mahyam atho imām sarasvati predam ava subhage vājinīvati tāṃ tvā viśvasya bhūtasya pragāyām asy agrata iti athainau brahmābhimantrayate samitaṃ saṃkalpethāṃ saṃ vāṃ sṛjāmi hṛdaye saṃsṛṣṭaṃ mano astu vāṃ saṃsṛṣṭaḥ prāṇo astu vām iti athainām aśmānam āsthāpayati ātiṣṭhemam aśmānam aśmeva tvaṃ sthirā bhava pramṛṇīhi durasyūn sahasva pṛtanāyata iti pradakṣiṇam agniṃ pariṇayati viśvā uta tvayā vayaṃ dhārā udanyā iva atigāhemahi dviṣa iti athāsyā bhrātāñjalināñjalāv upastīrṇābhighāritān lājān āvapati iyaṃ nāry upabrūte 'gnau lājān āvapantī dīrghāyur astu me patir edhantāṃ jñātayo mama bhagena tvā saṃsṛjāmi māsareṇa surām iveti athaināṃ vācayati imān lājān āvapāmi samṛddhikaraṇān mama tubhyaṃ ca saṃvananāṃs tad agnir anumanyatāmiyaṃ svāheti evam eva trir āsthāpayati triḥ pariṇayati trir āvapati athaināṃ prācīṃ vodīcīṃ vā sapta padāni prakramayaty ekamiṣe viṣṇus tvānvetu dve ūrje viṣṇus tvānvetu trīṇi vratāya viṣṇus tvānvetu catvāri māyobhavāya viṣṇus tvānvetu pañca paśubhyo viṣṇus tvānvetu ṣaḍ rāyaspoṣāya viṣṇus tvānvetu sapta saptabhyo hotrābhyo viṣṇus tvānvetviti saptame pade samīkṣamāṇo japati sakhā saptapadā bhava sakhāyau saptapadāvabhūva sakhyaṃ te gameyaṃ sakhyāt te mā yoṣaṃ sakhyān me mā yoṣṭhā iti athāsyā dakṣiṇam aṃsaṃ prati bāhum anvavahṛtya hṛdayadeśam abhimṛśati mama hṛdaye hṛdayaṃ te astu mama citte cittam astu te mama vācam ekamanā śṛṇu mām evānuvratā bhava sahacaryā mayā bhaveti athāsyā dakṣiṇaṃ karṇam ājapati māṃ te cittaṃ praviśatu māṃ cakṣur mām u te manaḥ mayi sarvāṇi bhūtāni mayi prajñānam astu te madhu he madhvāgāhe jihvā me madhuvādinī mukhe me sāraghaṃ madhu datsu saṃvananaṃ kṛtam cākravākaṃ saṃvananaṃ yan nadībhya udāhṛtam yad devagandharvo vittas tena saṃvaninau svaḥ māṃ caiva paśya sūryaṃ ca mānyeṣu manaḥ kṛthā iti athāsyāḥ svadhitiṃ mūrdhni dhārayanhiraṇyaṃ vodakumbhenāvasiñcati āpo hi ṣṭhā mayobhuva iti tisṛbhir hiraṇyavarṇāḥ śucayaḥ pāvakā iti catasṛbhiḥ pavamānaḥ suvarjana ity etenānuvākenāvasicya yathārthaṃ vahanti uhyamānām anumantrayate ye vadhvaś candraṃ vahatuṃ yakṣmā yanti janāṁ anu punas tān yajñiyā devā nayantu yata āgatā iti athaināṃ gṛhān uhyānaḍuhe rohite carmaṇy upaveśayati iha gāvo niṣīdantv ihāśvā iha puruṣāḥ iho sahasradakṣiṇo 'bhi pūṣā niṣīdatviti athainām āgneyena sthālīpākena yājayati athaitasya sthālīpākasyopahatyābhighārya juhotyagnaye svāhāgnaye 'gnivate svāhāgnaye 'nnādāya svāhāgnaye sviṣṭakṛte svāheti yāvajjīvam etam agniṃ vrīhibhir yavair vā sāyaṃ prātaḥ paricarati agnaye svāheti sāyaṃ pūrvāmāhutiṃ juhoti prajāpataye svāhetyuttarām saurīṃ pūrvāṃ prātareke samāmananti aupāsano nityo dhāryaḥ anugato manthyaḥ śrotriyāgārād vāhāryaḥ anyatarasya caitad ahar upavāsaḥ aṣṭamyaḥ parvāṇi copavasati āgneyena sthālīpākena parvasu yajate vāgyata āsta ā nakṣatrāṇām udayāt uditeṣu nakṣatreṣu vatsam anvārabhyotthāpayaty ud āyuṣā svāyuṣeti athaināṃ dhruvam arundhatīm anyāni ca nakṣatrāṇyabhivīkṣayati namo brahmaṇe dhruvāyācyutāyāstviti etenānuvākena dhruvam upatiṣṭhate dhruvakṣitir dhruvayonir dhruvam asi dhruvata sthitam tvaṃ nakṣatrāṇāṃ methyasi sa mā pāhi pṛtanyata iti saptarṣayaḥ prathamāṃ kṛttikānām arundhatīṃ dhruvatāṃ ye ha ninyuḥ ṣaṭ kṛttikā mukhyayogaṃ vahantīyam asmākaṃ bhrājatvaṣṭamīty arundhatīm trirātram akṣāralavaṇāśināvadhaḥśāyinau brahmacāriṇau bhavataḥ atha caturthyām apararātre 'ntarāgāre 'gnim upasamādhāya jayābhyātānān rāṣṭrabhṛta iti hutvaitā āhutīr juhoti agne prāyaścitte tvaṃ devānāṃ prāyaścittir asi brāhmaṇas tvā nāthakāmaḥ prapadye yāsyāṃ patighnī tanūḥ prajāghnī paśughnī lakṣmighnī jāraghnīmasyai tāṃ kṛṇomi svāhā vāyo prāyaścitta āditya prāyaścitte prajāpate prāyaścitte tvaṃ devānāṃ prāyaścittirasi brāhmaṇastvā nāthakāmaḥ prapadye yāsyai ninditā tanūs tām ito nāśayāmasi svāheti athaināṃ tūṣṇīṃ hiṃkṛtya vāgyata upetyāmūham asmi sā tvaṃ dyaur ahaṃ pṛthivī tvaṃ sāmāham ṛk tvaṃ tāvehi saṃbhavāva saha reto dadhāvahai puṃse putrāya vettavai rāyaspoṣāya suprajāstvāya suvīryāyeti athāsyā apavṛttārtho 'pavṛttārthāyai mukhena mukhaṃ saṃnidhāya prāṇity etaṃ prāṇam apānihīti taṃ sā pratyapāniti athāsyā ācāntodakāyai pāṇī prakṣālyābhimṛśati karad dadhacchivena tvā pañcaśākhena hastenāvidviṣāvatā sāhasreṇa yaśasvinābhimṛśāmi suprajāstvāyeti bhasaddeśam yadā malavadvāsā syād athaināṃ brāhmaṇapratiṣiddhāni vratāni saṃśāsti yāṃ malavadvāsasam iti caturthyāṃ snātāṃ prayatavastrāṃ brāhmaṇasaṃbhāṣāṃ saṃ te manasā mana ity etenānuvākenopasaṃviśati sarvāṇy upāyanāni mantravanti bhavantītyāśmarathyaḥ yaccādau yaccartāvityālekhanaḥ athāsyāḥ prathamagarbhiṇyāś caturthe māsi sīmantaṃ kurvanti āpūryamāṇapakṣe puṇye nakṣatre payasi sthālīpākaṃ śrapayitvāntarāgāre 'gnim upasamādhāya jayābhyātānān rāṣṭrabhṛta iti hutvaitā āhutīr juhoti bhūrbhuvaḥ suvaḥ prajāpata iti catasraḥ treṇyā śalalyā trīṇi darbhapuñjīlāni śalālugrapsam ity upaniyamyordhvaṃ sīmantam unnayati bhūrbhuvaḥ suvo rākām ahaṃ yāste rāke soma eva no rājety āhur brāhmaṇīḥ prajāḥ vivṛttacakrā āsīnās tīreṇa yamune taveti tīreṇāsau taveti vā yasyās tīre vasati purastād agner etāni nidhāya trīn odanān uddhṛtya sarpiṣopasicyopanidadhāty udaśarāvaṃ caturtham teṣām ekaikam avekṣamāṇāṃ pṛcchati kiṃ paśyasīti putrāṃśca paśūṃśceti pratyāha teṣām ekaṃ brāhmaṇān bhojayed ekaṃ brāhmaṇīr ekaṃ saha kumāraiḥ sā prāśnāti vāgyata āsta ā nakṣatrāṇām udayāt uditeṣu nakṣatreṣviti samānam atha puṃsavanam tṛtīye māsi caturthādau vā tiṣyeṇa vā hastena vānurādhair vottarair vā proṣṭhapadaiḥ nyagrodhāvarodham āhṛtyānavasnātayā kumāryā dṛṣatputre dṛṣatputreṇa peṣayitvāntarāgāre 'gnim upasamādhāya jayābhyātānān rāṣṭrabhṛta iti hutvaitā āhutīr juhoti yas tvā hṛdā kiriṇeti catasraḥ apareṇāgniṃ prācīm uttānāṃ nipātyāthāsyā dakṣiṇe nāsikāchidre 'ṅguṣṭhenānunayati puṃsavanam asy amuṣyā iti sā hety āha pumāṃsam eva janayati atha kṣipraṃsuvanam yajñopavītaṃ kṛtvāpa ācamyānāprītena śarāveṇānusrotasam udakam āhṛtya pattas tūryantīṃ nidhāya mūrdhañchoṣyantīm abhimṛśati daśabhis tvāṅgulibhir abhimṛśāmi daśamāsyāya sūtavā iti athainām adbhir avokṣati yathaiva vātaḥ pavate yathā samudra ejati evaṃ kumāra ejatu saha jarāyuṇāvapadyatām iti atha yadyaparā na patet pāṇinodakam ādāya mūrdhanyenām avasiñcet tilade 'vapadyasva na māṃsam asi no dalam avapadyasvāsāviti yadi garbhaḥ sraṃsed ārdreṇa pāṇinā trir ūrdhvaṃ nābher unmṛjet parāñcaṃ tvā nārvāñcaṃ tvaṣṭā badhnātu bandhanaiḥ sa ṛtūn upaśeṣva daśamāso 'vīraheti vijātāyāḥ paridāṃ karoti dakṣiṇārdhe 'gārasyāgnim upasamādhāya sarṣapān phalīkaraṇamiśrān añjalāvadhyupya juhoti śaṇḍo marka upavīras tuṇḍikera ulūkhalaḥ cyavano naśyatād itaḥ svāheti evaṃ dvitīyām evaṃ tṛtīyām athāparām keśinī śvalominī khajābojopakāśinī apeta naśyatād itaḥ svāheti evaṃ dvitīyāmevaṃ tṛtīyām athāparām aryamṇaḥ kumbhīpātraḥ pātrapāṇir nipuṇiḥ apeta naśyatād itaḥ svāheti evaṃ dvitīyāmevaṃ tṛtīyām athāparām miśravāsasaḥ kauberakā rakṣorājena preṣitāḥ grāmaṃ sajānayo gacchantīcchanto 'paridākṛtān svāhā etān ghnataitān gṛhṇītety ayaṃ brāhmaṇo dūtaḥ tān agniḥ paryasarat tān indras tān bṛhaspatiḥ tān ahaṃ veda brāhmaṇaḥ pramṛśataḥ kūṭadantān vikeśān lambanastanān svāhā naktaṃcāriṇa uraspeśāñchūlahastān kapālapān pūrva eṣāṃ pitaityuccaiḥ śrāvyakarṇakaḥ mātā jaghanyā sarpati grāme vidhuram icchantī svāhā pradoṣacāriṇī svasā saṃdhinā prekṣate kulam yā svapantaṃ bodhayati yasyai vijātāyāṃ manaḥ tāsāṃ tvaṃ kṛṣṇavartmane klomānaṃ hṛdayaṃ yakṛt agne akṣīṇi nirdaha svāheti evam eva niṣkrāmati ca prapadyamāne cāvapatāhar ahar ā nirdaśatāyā iti sā yadi pumāṃsaṃ janayati tam abhimṛśati vṛdhad iti madhyamaṃ palāśapalāśaṃ saṃveṣṭya tenāsya dakṣiṇaṃ karṇam ājapati bhūs tvayi dadhāmīti bhuvas tvayi dadhāmīty uttaram suvas tvayi dadhāmīti dakṣiṇam api vottaram eva dviḥ sakṛd eva dakṣiṇam athainam abhimantrayate aśmā bhava paraśur bhava hiraṇyam astṛtaṃ bhava vedo vai putranāmāsi sa jīva śaradaḥ śatam medhāṃ te devaḥ savitā medhāṃ devī sarasvatī medhāṃ te aśvināvubhāv ādhattāṃ puṣkarasrajau vedo vai putranāmāsi sa jīva śaradaḥ śatam iti athainaṃ dadhi madhu ghṛtamiti saṃsṛjya tribhir darbhapuñjīlair hiraṇyena vā triḥ prāśayaty apāṃ tvauṣadhīnāṃ rasaṃ prāśayāmy āyur varco yaśo medhāṃ tvayi dadhāmi savitrā prasūtas tvaṣṭā vīram adhāt sa me śatāyur edhi bhūr bhuvaḥ suvar iti athāsya dakṣiṇena hastena dakṣiṇaṃ hastam abhīvāṅguṣṭham abhīva lomāni gṛhṇāty agnir āyuṣmān ity etair mantraiḥ navanītena pāṇī abhyajya hiraṇyaṃ haste kṛtvā agnau pratāpyābhimṛśati agnes tvā tejasā sūryasya varcasendrasyendriyeṇa viśveṣāṃ tvā devānāṃ kratunābhimṛśāmi aṅgād aṅgāt sambhavasi hṛdayād adhi jāyase ātmā vai putranāmāsi sa jīva śaradaḥ śatam iti athainaṃ vātsapreṇābhimṛśati divas parītyanuvākena yatra śete tad abhimṛśati veda te bhūmi hṛdayaṃ divi candramasi śritam vedāmṛtasya goptāraṃ māhaṃ pautramaghaṃ rudam iti athainaṃ mātur upastha ādadhāti mā te putraṃ rakṣo vadhīn mā dhenur atyāsāriṇī priyā dhanasya bhūyā edhamānā sve vaśa iti stanaṃ pratidhāpayati ayaṃ kumāro jarāṃ dhayatu dīrghamāyuḥ tasmai tvaṃ stana prapyāyāyur varco yaśo balam iti saṃviṣṭābhyāṃ paridāṃ karoti nāmayati na rudati yatra vayaṃ vadāmasi yatra cābhimṛśāmasīti śirasta udakumbhaṃ nidadhāty āpaḥ supteṣu jāgrata rakṣāṃsi nirito nudadhvamiti naitāsām apām udakārthaṃ kurvanti atha yadi ciraṃ na vijāyate srajamenāṃ darśayet parimuktāyāṃ kṣipram evopanirharet yadā yadā sūtikārogaḥ syād dakṣiṇasya padas taptodakena pārṣṇiṃ kledayitvā tadā tadā taṃ deśam avamārṣṭi yatrāsyā duḥkhaṃ bhavati dhanurmaṭacī puruṣasya hastayor ekaśataṃ śṛṇor aṅga te dhāpayitāras tvaṃ rogasyeśiṣe tvam u rogasya sūtikārogabhaiṣajyam asyamuṣyā iti upanirharanti sūtikāgnim aupāsanam atiharanti sa eṣa uttapanārtho bhavati nāsmin kiṃ cana karma kriyate daśamyāṃ snātau mātāputrau śucyagāraṃ kurvanti upanirharantyaupāsanaṃ sūtikāgnim atiharanti antarāgāre 'gnim upasamādhāya jayābhyātānān rāṣṭrabhṛta iti hutvaitā āhutīrjuhoti dhātā dadātu no rayim ity aṣṭau daśamyāṃ putrasya nāma dadhāti dvyakṣaraṃ caturakṣaraṃ vā ghoṣavadādy antarantasthaṃ dīrghābhiniṣṭānāntam taddhi pratiṣṭhitam iti vijñāyate pitā mātetyagre 'bhivyāhareyātām vijñāyate mama nāma prathamaṃ jātavedaḥ pitā mātā ca dadhatur yad agra iti dve nāmanī kuryāt vijñāyate ca tasmād dvināmā brāhmaṇo 'rdhuka iti nakṣatranāma dvitīyaṃ syāt anyatarad guhyaṃ syād anyatareṇainam āmantrayeran viproṣya hariṇī dūrve ādāya gṛhān upodeti gṛhā mā bibhīta mā vepiḍhvam ūrjaṃ bibhrata emasi ūrjaṃ bibhrad vaḥ sumanāḥ suvarcā gṛhān emi manasā modamānaḥ yeṣāṃ pravasann adhyeti yeṣu saumanaso bahuḥ gṛhān upahvayāmahe te no jānantu jānataḥ ime gṛhāḥ prati jīveṣv asthur ūrjaṃ bibhrato jagataḥ suśevāḥ eha vatsaḥ krandatv ā kumāra ā dhenavo bahulā nityavatsāḥ upahūtaṃ goaśvam upahūtā ajāvayaḥ atho annasya kīlāla upahūto gṛheṣu me ūrjaṃ bibhrata emasy ūrjā vaḥ saṃsṛjāmi ramadhvaṃ mā bibhītaneti tṛṇe prāsyati śivā upamitaḥ pramitaś ca santviti dvārye saṃmṛśati kṣemāya vaḥ śivaḥ śāntyai prapadya iti prapadyate dakṣiṇapūrvābhyām anuvīkṣate abhayaṃ vo 'stv abhayaṃ me astviti bhāryāṃ saṃgacchamānām anumantrayate viśvā uta tvayā vayam ity etayā putraṃ saṃgacchamānam anumantrayate 'ṅgād aṅgāt sambhavasīti dvābhyām athainaṃ mūrdhaṃs trir avajighret paśūnāṃ tvā hiṃkāreṇābhijighrāmi prajāpataye tvā hiṃkāreṇābhijighrāmi prajāpatis ta āyur dadhātu sa me śatāyur edhi bhūr bhuvaḥ suvar iti sarvebhyaḥ prāṇebhyo jātāsi sā jīva śaradaḥ śatam iti duhituḥ athainaṃ ṣaṣṭhe māsy annaṃ prāśayati tasya sa eva prāśanakalpo yo medhājanana etāvan nānā bhūr ity agre prāśayati bhuva iti dvitīyaṃ suvar iti tṛtīyam athāsya sāṃvatsarikasya cauḍaṃ kurvanti yatharṣi yathopajñaṃ vā vijñāyate ca yatra bāṇāḥ saṃpatanti kumārā viśikhā iveti bahuśikhā iveti athānnaṃ saṃskṛtya brāhmaṇān bhojayitvāśiṣo vācayitvāntarāgāre 'gnim upasamādhāya jayābhyātānān rāṣṭrabhṛta iti hutvaitā āhutīr juhoti pūrṇā paścād imaṃ me varuṇa tat tvā yāmi tvaṃ no agne sa tvaṃ no agne tvam agne 'yāsy anabhiśastīś ca yad asya karmaṇo 'tyarīricaṃ prajāpata iti uttamāṃ hutvā gurave varaṃ dadāti apareṇāgniṃ gomayapiṇḍaṃ sarvabījānīty upaniyamya sarvabījānām agraṃ gomayapiṇḍe nyupya śītoṣṇā apaḥ samānīya tābhir asya dakṣiṇaṃ godānam unatty āpa undantu jīvase dīrghāyutvāya varcasa iti treṇyā śalalyā vinīya trīṇi darbhapuñjīlāny ūrdhvāgrāṇy upaniyacchati oṣadhe trāyasvainaṃ svadhite mainaṃ hiṃsīriti lohitāyasaṃ kṣuraṃ tiryañcaṃ nidhāya pravapati yad ṛṣīṇāṃ tryāyuṣaṃ jamadagneḥ kaśyapasya tryāyuṣam yad devānāṃ tryāyuṣaṃ tan me 'stu tryāyuṣam yena pūṣā bṛhaspater agner indrasya cāyuṣe 'vapat tena te vapāmyasau dīrghāyutvāya varcasa iti evam evottaraṃ godānaṃ vāpayate keśān vāpayitvā gomayapiṇḍe nidadhāti athainaṃ gomayapiṇḍaṃ goṣṭha udakānta udumbaramūle darbhastambe vā nidadhāti athainaṃ snātam alaṃkurvanti śravaṇakarma vyākhyāsyāmaḥ śrāvaṇyāṃ paurṇamāsyām upakalpayate 'kṣatadhānāś cākṣatasaktūṃśca jātyaṃ cāñjanam astamita āditye 'ntarāgāre 'gnim upasamādhāya jayābhyātānān rāṣṭrabhṛta iti hutvākṣatadhānānāṃ cākṣatasaktūnāṃ ca samavadāyābhighārya juhoti āgneyāya pāṇḍarāya pārthivānāmadhipataye svāheti prathamāmāhutiṃ juhoti śvetāya vāyavyāyāntarikṣāṇām adhipataye svāheti dvitīyām abhibhuve sūryāya divyānāmadhipataye svāheti tṛtīyām upaniṣkramya sthaṇḍila evaitā āhutīr juhoti api vā samīcī nāmāsi prācī digiti sarpāhutīḥ prāśanārthā dhānā upakalpyākṣatadhānāś cākṣatasaktūṃśca jātyaṃ cāñjanaṃ sthaṇḍile nyupyābhimantrayate namo 'stu sarpebhya iti tisṛbhiḥ tato yāvantaṃ deśaṃ kāmayata imaṃ sarpā nāgaccheyuriti taṃ saṃtatayodadhārayānupariṣiñcaty apa śveta padā jahi pūrveṇa cāpareṇa ca sapta ca mānavairimāstisraśca rājabandhavaiḥ na vai śvetasyādhyācāre 'hir dadaṃśa kāṃcana śvetāya vaidarvyāya nama iti tata etā dhānā asametyāvagiranti yāvanto havirucchiṣṭāśā bhavanti tata etāṃścaturo māsānsarpebhyo baliṃ haranti saktūn vaivamarthān kurvantyapi vā yadyadannaṃ kriyate tasya tasya tata āgrahāyaṇyāṃ paurṇamāsyām evam evaitat karma kriyate yad anyad dhānāprāśanāt pariṣecanād iti sarvaṃ tat kriyate āgneyena sthālīpākena parvasu yajate tasya purastāt sviṣṭakṛta etā āhutīr juhoti iḍāyāḥ padaṃ ghṛtavaccarācaraṃ jātavedaḥ havir idaṃ juṣasva ye grāmyāḥ paśavo viśvarūpās teṣāṃ saptānām iha rantir astu puṣṭyai svāhā yāṃ devāḥ pratinandanti rātriṃ dhenumivāyatīm saṃvatsarasya yā patnī sā no astu sumaṅgalī svāhā paurṇamāsī pūrayantyāyātyaparāparam ardhamāsānvibhajantī sā naḥ pūrṇābhirakṣatu svāhā śivā paśubhyo dārebhyaḥ śivā naktaṃ śivā divā saṃvatsaraṃ kalpayantī sā naḥ kāmadughā bhavatsvāhā pūrṇā paścāttvamagne ayāsi prajāpate iti tisrastataḥ sauviṣṭakṛtaṃ juhoti agnaye sviṣṭakṛte svāheti atha hemantapratyavarohaṇam yatra pratyavarokṣyanbhavati tadupatiṣṭhate prati kṣatre pratitiṣṭhāmi rāṣṭre pratyaśveṣu pratitiṣṭhāmi goṣu prati prajāyāṃ pratitiṣṭhāmi bhavye syonā pṛthivi no bhavānṛkṣarā niveśanī yacchā naḥ śarma saprathā iti śālākarma vyākhyāsyāmaḥ śālāṃ kārayiṣyamāṇa āpūryamāṇapakṣe puṇye nakṣatre brāhmaṇānannena pariviṣya parilikhyehaiva dhruvāṃ niminomi śālāṃ kṣeme tiṣṭhatu ghṛtamukṣamāṇā tāṃ tvā śāle sarvavīrāḥ suvīrā ariṣṭavīrā anusaṃcarema iti dakṣiṇāṃ dvārasthūṇāmucchrayati ihaiva dhruvā pratitiṣṭha śāle 'śvavatī gomatī sūnṛtāvatī ūrjasvatī payasvatī ghṛtavatyucchrayasva mahate saubhagāyeti uttarāmā tvā kumārastaruṇa ā vatso jagatā saha ā tvā parisrutaḥ kumbha ā dadhnaḥ kalaśīr ayan iti saṃmite abhimṛśati evameva sthūṇārājāvucchrayatyevamabhimṛśati ṛtena sthūṇāvadhiroha vaṃśogro virājannapasedha śatrūn athāsmabhyaṃ sarvavīrāṃ rayiṃ dāḥ iti pṛṣṭhavaṃśamadhiropayati mānasya patni śaraṇā syonā devebhir vimitāsyagre tṛṇaṃ vasānā sumanā asastvaṃ śaṃ na edhi dvipade śaṃ catuṣpada iti channāmabhimṛśati agārapraveśaṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ āpūryamāṇapakṣe puṇye nakṣatre 'ntarāgāre 'gnim upasamādhāya jayābhyātānān rāṣṭrabhṛta iti hutvaitā āhutīrjuhoti vāstoṣpata iti dve vāstoṣpate prataraṇo na edhi gayasphāno gobhir aśvebhir indo ajarāsas te sakhye syāma piteva putrānprati no juṣasva svāhā paraṃ mṛtyo anuparehi panthāṃ yaste sva itaro devayānāt vāstoṣpate śṛṇvate te bravīmi mā naḥ prajāṃ rīriṣo mota vīrān svāheti bhūmimabhimṛśati prati kṣatre prati tiṣṭhāmi rāṣṭra iti dvābhyām idaṃ śreyo 'vasānaṃ yadāgāṃ syone me dyāvāpṛthivī abhūtām anamīvāḥ pradiśaḥ santu mahyaṃ gomad dhanavad aśvavad ūrjasvat suvīravad iti caitayā ahataṃ vāsa ācchādya tadvāstu parimāpayet ṛtaṃ vṛṇīṣva māvāryaṃ mā no hiṃsīḥ kadācana syonā pṛthivi bhavānṛkṣarā niveśanī yacchā naḥ śarma saprathā iti ud āyuṣā svāyuṣetyupotthāyopasamūhya brāhmaṇānannena pariveṣayet tatpūrvaṃ vāstuśamanam athānyat śaraṇe kṛta udumbarapalāśāni sasuṣirāṇi yavaiḥ saha gomayaṃ śāḍvalaṃ rāsabhaṃ madhu caivātra saptamaṃ tairagāraṃ vāstu ca pariprokṣet pūrṇa udadhirbhavati prajvalito 'gnir bhavati brāhmaṇamagre praveśayati brāhmaṇamāha praviśānīti praviśatu bhavān āyuṣā varcasā śriyāvṛta iti brāhmaṇānumataḥ praviśati bhūḥ prapadye bhuvaḥ prapadye śriyaṃ prapadye śrīrmā praviśatviti brāhmaṇam anu praviśya jayābhyātānānrāṣṭrabhṛta iti hutvāgniṃ devānāṃ mahayati agnir devānām adhipatiḥ purīṣyo havyavāhanaḥ taṃ tvaimi śaraṇaṃ deva saputraḥ saha jñātibhiḥ svāhā sadāsabhāryaḥ sāmātyaḥ sāyām agnaye svāheti agniṃ mahayitvātha rājānam īḍate tvaddattaṃ vai balaṃ rājye tvatpūrtamiha jīvate hiraṇyavarṇa haryakṣa arthaṃ mahyaṃ sādhaya svāhā kuberāya svāhā mahārājāya svāhā vaiśravaṇāya svāheti rājānaṃ mahayitvāthendraṃ devānāṃ mahayati trātāram indram indraṃ viśvā avīvṛdhanniti indraṃ mahayitvā viśvān devān mahayati viśve devā viśve devā iti dvābhyāṃ viśvān devān mahayitvā atha pañcedhmānabhyādhāya juhoti medhāṃ manasi juhomi svāhā mano medhāyāṃ juhomi svāhā śraddhāṃ tapasi juhomi svāhā tapaḥ śraddhāyāṃ juhomi svāhā mṛtyor mukhaṃ vidadhāmi svāhā ye devāḥ puraḥsado 'gninetrā rakṣohaṇas te naḥ pāntu te no 'vantu tebhyo namas tebhyaḥ svāhā śāntam idam avasānaṃ prapadye svāhā ye devā dakṣiṇāsado ye devāḥ paścātsado ye devā uttarasado ye devā upariṣado bṛhaspatinetrā rakṣohaṇas te naḥ pāntu te no 'vantu tebhyo namas tebhyaḥ svāhā śāntam idam avasānaṃ prapadye svāhā pūrṇā paścād imaṃ me varuṇa tat tvā yāmi tvaṃ no agne sa tvaṃ no agne tvam agne ayāsy ayāś cāgne 'sy anabhiśastīś ca yad asya karmaṇo 'tyarīricaṃ prajāpata iti uttamāṃ hutvā brāhmaṇān annena pariveṣayet yad vāstu garhitaṃ yatra vānyaḥ paribhavet tatrāpi sukham āsīta śamayan vāstvṛtāvṛtau etaddhaumyasya vacanam asitasya turaṅgasya ca muneḥ kāvyasya dālbhyasya naitad vidvān parābhavet śvagrahaprāyaścittam śvopaspṛṣṭe tad yajñopavītaṃ kṛtvāpa ācamyānāprītena śarāveṇānusrotasam udakam āhṛtyātha sabhāyāṃ madhye 'dhidevanam uddhatyāvokṣyākṣān nyupyākṣeṣu hiraṇyaṃ nidhāyopariṣṭāt sabhāyāṃ vyūhya tṛṇāni tena kumāram anvavahṛtyākṣeṣūttānaṃ nipātya dadhnā lavaṇodakamiśreṇābhyukṣya japati āghnanti kaṃsaṃ dakṣiṇataḥ kurkuraḥ sukurkuraḥ kurkuro bālabandhanaḥ upariṣṭād yadejāya tṛtīyasyām ito divi aulaba it tam upāhvayāthārjīcchyāmaḥ śabalaḥ adhorāma ulumbalaḥ sārameyo ha dhāvati samudram iva cākaśat bibhran niṣkaṃ ca rukmaṃ ca śunām agraṃ subīriṇaḥ subīriṇa sṛja sṛjaikavrātya śunaka sṛja chat tat satyaṃ yat tvendro 'bravīd gā spāśayasveti tās tvaṃ spāśayitvāgacchas taṃ tvābravīd avidahā ityavidaṃ hīti varaṃ vṛṇīṣveti kumāram evāhaṃ iti triḥ prātarmadhyaṃdine sāyam agado haiva bhavatītyāha tataḥ kuryād yadi nāgadaḥ syāt śūlagavaṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ āpūryamāṇapakṣe puṇye nakṣatre payasi sthālīpākaṃ śrapayitvā prācīṃ vodīcīṃ vā diśam upaniṣkramya sthaṇḍilaṃ kalpayitvāgnim upasamādhāya saṃparistīryāpareṇāgniṃ dve kuṭī kṛtvā śūlagavam āvāhayati ā tvā vahantu harayaḥ sucetasaḥ śvetair aśvaiḥ saha ketumadbhiḥ vātājirair mama havyāya namas te rudra manyava ity etair ekādaśabhir anuvākaiḥ prathamottamābhyāṃ vā abhita etam agniṃ gā sthāpayati yathā dhūmam ājighreyur iti ājyaśeṣam odanaśeṣam udakumbhaśeṣam ity ekadhā samavanīyodumbaraśākhayā pradakṣiṇaṃ gās triḥ prokṣati śivaṃ gobhyaḥ śivaṃ gopataya iti ṛṣabhasya pṛṣṭhe śeṣaṃ ninayaty etaṃ yuvānam ity etābhiḥ pañcabhiḥ athātaḥ kṣaitrapatyasya gavāṃ mārge 'nagnau kṣetrasya patiṃ yajate kṣetrasya pataye svāheti caturṣu saptasu vā palāśeṣu taṃ tathāvāhayati yathā śūlagavam tūrṇaṃ yajate pāko devaḥ upatiṣṭhate kṣetrasya patinā vayam iti dvābhyām athainaṃ kṣaitrapatyaṃ ye sanābhayo bhavanti te prāśnanti yathā vaiṣāṃ kuladharmo bhavati amāvāsyāyām aparāhṇe māsiśrāddham aparapakṣasya vāyukṣv ahaḥsu pitṛbhyo 'nnaṃ saṃskṛtya prācīnāvītaṃ kṛtvāgnim upasamādhāya dakṣiṇāprāgagrair darbhair agniṃ paristīrya dakṣiṇapūrvam avāntaradeśam abhimukhaḥ pitṝn āvāhayati āyāta pitaraḥ somyā gambhīraiḥ pathibhiḥ pūrvyaiḥ prajāmasmabhyaṃ dadato rayiṃ ca dīrghāyutvaṃ ca śataśāradaṃ ca āyāta pitāmahāḥ prapitāmahāś cānugaiḥ saha asuṃgamāḥ satyayujo 'vṛkāsaḥ ā no havaṃ pitaro 'dyāgamantu eha gacchantu pitaro haviṣe attavā iti etām eva diśam abhy apaḥ prasiñcaty āpo devīḥ prahiṇutemaṃ yajñaṃ pitaro no juṣantāṃ māsīnām ūrjam uta ye bhajante te no rayiṃ sarvavīrāṃ niyacchantv iti pariṣicya juhoti yāḥ prācīḥ sambhavanty āpa uttarataś ca yāḥ adbhir bhūtāṃ dadāmi yathādityo 'kṣito 'nupadasta evaṃ mahyaṃ prapitāmahāyākṣito 'nupadastaḥ svadhā bhavatāṃ tvaṃ svadhām akṣitaṃ taiḥ sahopajīva yāṃś ca tvam atrānv asi ye ca tvām anu atra pitaro yathābhāgaṃ mandadhvam ity uktvā parāṅ āvartate oṣmaṇo vyāvṛta upāste vyāvṛtta ūṣmaṇy abhiparyāvartate 'vyāvṛtte vā amīmadanta pitaraḥ somyā ity abhiparyāvṛtya namaskārair upatiṣṭhate namo vaḥ pitaro rasāyeti pratipadyāhaṃ teṣāṃ vasiṣṭho bhūyāsam ityantena adbhiḥ pātraṃ prakṣālya pūrayitvā prasavyaṃ triḥ pariṣiñcati putrān pautrān abhitarpayantīr āpo madhumatīr imāḥ svadhāṃ pitṛbhyo amṛtaṃ duhānā āpo devīr ubhayāṃs tarpayantu ūrjaṃ vahantīḥ kṣīram udakaṃ ghṛtaṃ payaḥ kīlālaṃ parisrutaṃ nadīr imā udanvatīr vetasvinīḥ sutīrthyā amuṣmin loka upa vaḥ kṣarantu ūrjasvatīḥ payasvatīr madhunā ghṛtena svadhā stha tarpayata me pitṝn ity apratīkṣam etya athānnam abhimṛśati pṛthivī te pātraṃ dyaur apidhānaṃ brahmaṇas tvā mukhe juhomi brāhmaṇānāṃ tvā prāṇāpānayor juhomy akṣitam asi maiṣāṃ kṣeṣṭhā amutrāmuṣmin loke pṛthivī samā tasyāgnir upadraṣṭarcas te mahimā pṛthivī te pātraṃ dyaur apidhānaṃ brahmaṇas tvā mukhe juhomi brāhmaṇānāṃ tvā prāṇāpānayor juhomy akṣitam asi maiṣāṃ kṣeṣṭhā amutrāmuṣmin loke antarikṣaṃ samaṃ tasya vāyur upadraṣṭā sāmāni te mahimā pṛthivī te pātraṃ dyaur apidhānaṃ brahmaṇas tvā mukhe juhomi brāhmaṇānāṃ tvā prāṇāpānayor juhomy akṣitam asi maiṣāṃ kṣeṣṭhā amutrāmuṣmin loke dyauḥ samā tasyāditya upadraṣṭā yajūṃṣi te mahimeti brāhmaṇān annena pariviṣya pradiṣṭam udapātraṃ cādāya dakṣiṇapūrvam avāntaradeśaṃ gatvā pradiṣṭam udapātreṇopapravartayati parāyāta pitaraḥ somyā gambhīraiḥ pathibhiḥ pūrvyaiḥ atha māsi punar āyāta no gṛhān havir attuṃ suprajasaḥ suvīrā iti sarvataḥ samavadāya śeṣasya prāśnātīdam annaṃ pūryatāṃ cāpūryatāṃ ca tan naḥ saha devair amṛtam astu prāṇeṣu tvāmṛtaṃ juhomi svāheti aṣṭakāṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ upariṣṭān māghyāḥ prāk phālgunyā yo bahulas tasyāṣṭamī jyeṣṭhayā sampadyate tām ekāṣṭakety ācakṣate tasyāṃ saṃbhārān upakalpayate gāṃ praśasyāṣṭakāpūpaṃ catuḥśarāvaṃ tūṣṇīṃ nirvapati ṣaṭkapālo bhavaty ekakapālo vā tasya dārvihomikaḥ saṃskāraḥ tam aupāsane śrapayitvaupāsana eva juhoty ulūkhalā grāvāṇo ghoṣam akrata haviḥ kṛṇvantaḥ parivatsarīṇam ekāṣṭake suprajā vīravanto vayaṃ syāmaḥ patayo rayīṇāṃ svadhā namaḥ pitṛbhyaḥ svāhā ayaṃ catuḥśarāvo ghṛtavān apūpaḥ payasvān agne rayimān puṣṭimāṃś ca pratigṛhṇantu pitaraḥ saṃvidānāḥ sviṣṭaḥ suhuto 'yaṃ mamāstu svadhā namaḥ pitṛbhyaḥ svāhā vahāpūpaṃ jātavedaḥ pitṛbhyo yatrainān vettha nihitān parāke apūpakulyā upa tān kṣarantu satyā eṣām āśiṣaḥ santu kāmaiḥ svadhā namaḥ pitṛbhyaḥ svāheti purastāt sviṣṭakṛta etā āhutīr juhoti pūrṇā paścāt tvam agne ayāsi prajāpata iti tisraḥ tataḥ sauviṣṭakṛtaṃ juhoty agnaye kavyavāhanāya sviṣṭakṛte svadhā namaḥ pitṛbhyaḥ svāheti śvo bhūte pitṛbhyo gām ālabhate agnimupasamādhāya yathā purastādājyena prāyaścittaṃ hutvaikena barhiṣaikaśūlayā ca vapāśrapaṇyopākaroti pitṛbhyas tvā juṣṭām upākaromītīmāṃ pitṛbhyo gāmupākaroti ūrjasvatīṃ payasvatīṃ tāṃ me juṣantāṃ pitaraḥ sametāḥ medasvatī ghṛtavatī svadhāvatī sā me pitṝn sāṃparāyai dhinotv ity upākaraṇīyāṃ hutvā pitṛbhyas tvā juṣṭāṃ prokṣāmīti prokṣitāṃ paryagnikṛtāṃ pratyakśirasaṃ dakṣiṇāpadīṃ saṃjñapayanti saṃjñaptāyā adbhiḥ prāṇānāpyāyya tūṣṇīmeva vapām uddhṛtya hṛdayam uddharati prajñāte ca matasne audumbaryāṃ vapāśrapaṇyāṃ vapāṃ śrapayitvaudumbareṣu śūleṣu pṛthag itarāṇi śrapayitvaudumbaryā darvyopastīrṇābhighāritāṃ vapāṃ juhoti vaha vapāṃ jātavedaḥ pitṛbhyo yatrainānvettha nihitān parāke medasaḥ kulyā upa tān kṣarantu satyā eṣāmāśiṣaḥ santu kāmaiḥ svadhā namaḥ pitṛbhyaḥ svāheti upasthite 'nne odanasya māṃsānām iti samavadāya sarpirmiśrasya juhoty ekāṣṭakāṃ paśyata dohamānāmannaṃ māṃsavad ghṛtavat svadhāvat tad brāhmaṇair atipūtam anantam akṣayyaṃ me astu svadhā namaḥ pitṛbhyaḥ svāhā ekāṣṭakā tapasā tapyamānā saṃvatsarasya patnī duduhe prapīnā tāṃ doham upajīvātha pitaraḥ sahasradhā mucyamānāṃ purastāt svadhā namaḥ pitṛbhyaḥ svāhā vahānnaṃ jātavedaḥ pitṛbhyo yatrainānvettha nihitān parāke annasya kulyā upa tān kṣarantu satyā eṣām āśiṣaḥ santu kāmaiḥ svadhā namaḥ pitṛbhyaḥ svāheti purastāt sviṣṭakṛta etān upahomān juhotīyameva sā yā prathamā vyaucchadekāṣṭakā tapasā tapyamānā yā prathamā vyaucchatsaṃvatsarasya pratimāṃ prajāpata iti pañca tataḥ sauviṣṭakṛtaṃ juhotyagnaye kavyavāhanāya sviṣṭakṛte svadhā namaḥ pitṛbhyaḥ svāheti śvo bhūte pitṛbhyo māṃsaśeṣeṇa māsiśrāddhasyāvṛtā śrāddhaṃ karoti vedam adhītya snāsyann upakalpayate pālāśīṃ samidham udapātraṃ cairakāṃ copabarhaṇaṃ ca snānīyapiṇḍaṃ ca sārvasurabhipiṣṭaṃ candanaṃ ca sūtraṃ sopadhānaṃ maṇiṃ sapāśaṃ bādaraṃ maṇim uttarāsaṅgaṃ ca sāntaram ahate ca pravartau ca srajaṃ cāñjanaṃ cādarśopānahau daṇḍaṃ ca chatraṃ ca atha nakṣatrāṇi tiṣya uttare phalgunī hastaścitrā svāti viśākhe iti eteṣām ekasmin purodayādādityasya vrajaṃ prapadyate etad ahaḥ snātānāṃ ha vā eṣa etat tejasā tapati tasmād enam etad ahar nābhitapet antarlomnā carmaṇā dvāram apidhāya pūrvārdhe vrajasyāgnim upasamādhāya madhyaṃdine pālāśīṃ samidham ādadhāti imaṃ stomam arhate jātavedase ratham iva saṃmahemā manīṣayā bhadrā hi naḥ pramatir asya saṃsady agne sakhye mā riṣāmā vayaṃ tava svāheti tata etān saṃbhārān sakṛd eva sarvān āhṛtya tān uttarato 'gner nidhāyāpareṇāgnim uttarataḥ pariṣevanām erakām āstīrya tasyām udakśirā nipadyate dakṣiṇato nāpita upaviśati tasya kṣuram abhimantrayate śivo nāmāsi svadhitis te pitā namas te astu mā mā hiṃsīriti adbhir udyamānam abhimantrayate śivā me bhavatha saṃspṛśa iti kṣuram abhinidhīyamānam abhimantrayate yad ṛṣīṇāṃ tryāyuṣaṃ jamadagneḥ kaśyapasya tryāyuṣam yad devānāṃ tryāyuṣaṃ tan me astu tryāyuṣam iti vapantaṃ yat kṣureṇa marcayatā supeśasā vaptrā vapasi varcasā mukhaṃ mā na āyuḥ pramoṣīr iti śmaśrūṇi vāpayitvopapakṣau nivāpayate 'tha keśān yathopapādam aṅgāny evam evāta ūrdhvaṃ vāpayate paścārdhe vrajasyopaviśya mekhalāṃ visrasya parikarmaṇe prayacchatīmāṃ hṛtvā stamba upagūheti tāṃ sa hṛtvā stamba upagūhatīdam aham amuṣyāmuṣyāyaṇasya dviṣantaṃ bhrātṛvyam upagūhāmy uttaro 'sau dviṣadbhya iti tata āpa upaśerata uṣṇāś ca śītāś ca śītāsūṣṇā ānayati daivamānuṣasya vyāvṛtyā iti vijñāyate saṃsṛṣṭābhir adbhir abhiṣiñcaty āpo hi ṣṭhā mayobhuva iti tisṛbhir hiraṇyavarṇāḥ śucayaḥ pāvakā iti catasṛbhiḥ pavamānaḥ suvarjana ityetenānuvākena snānīyena pratāpya dantān prakṣālayate annādyāya vyūhadhvaṃ somo rājedam āgamat sa mā praviśatv annādyena bhagena ca dīrghāyur aham annādo bhūyāsam iti sārvasurabhiṇā pralepsyamānaḥ prokṣati namaḥ śākajañjabhābhyāṃ namas tābhyo devatābhyo yā abhigrāhiṇīr iti athānulimpet yad varco apsarāsu ca gandharveṣu ca yad yaśaḥ divyo yo mānuṣo gandhaś ca sa māviśatād iheti samunnīya candanenānulepsyamāna evaṃ prokṣaty evam anulimpet athāhatam antaraṃ paridhatta āyurasīti jarāmaśīyety uttaram yajñopavītaṃ kṛtvāpa ācamya jayābhyātānān rāṣṭrabhṛta iti hutvaitā āhutīr juhoti dīkṣā tapo manaso mātariśvā bṛhaspatir vāco asyāḥ sa yoniḥ vedāṃsi vidyā mayi santu cāravo 'gniṣomā yaśo asmāsu dhattam agnir yena virājati somo yena virājati sūryo yena virājati virāḍ yena virājati tenāhaṃ viśvataḥ parivirājyāsam ihaikavṛt svāheti apareṇāgniṃ prāṅmukha upaviśya sopadhānaṃ maṇiṃ pravayati sapāśaṃ bādaraṃ maṇim udapātre 'vadhāya pradakṣiṇaṃ paryāplāvayatīyam oṣadhe trāyamāṇā sahamānā sahasvatī sā mā hiraṇyavarcasaṃ brahmavarcasinaṃ mā karotv ity uddhṛtyākṣṇayaiva paryāhṛtya pratimuñcate 'pāśo 'sīti urasi sthāpayaty uro me mā saṃśārīḥ śivo mopaśeṣva mahyaṃ dīrghāyutvāya śataśāradāyeti hastena bādaraṃ maṇim ūrg asīti arkī maṇir brāhmaṇasya pulako vaiśyasya rājño gardabhasugrīvaḥ arkī maṇir brāhmaṇasya vaiśyasya pulako maṇiḥ rājño gardabhasugrīvo yasya kasya kapitthaka iti maṇidhāraṇe gāthā bhavati nidhāyāhatam antaraṃ paridhatta āyuṣe tveti jarām aśīyety uttaram ahatasya daśāyāṃ pravartau prabadhya darvyām ādhāyājyasyopaghātaṃ juhoty āyuṣyaṃ varcasyaṃ suvīryaṃ rāyaspoṣam audbhidyam idaṃ hiraṇyam āyuṣe varcase jaitriyāyāviśatān māṃ svāhā uccair vāji pṛtanājit satrāsāhaṃ dhanaṃjayam sarvāḥ samṛddhīr ṛddhayo hiraṇye 'smin samāhitāḥ svāhā śunamaḍaṃ hiraṇyasya pitur iva nāmāgrabhaiṣam taṃ mā hiraṇyavarcasaṃ puruṣu priyaṃ kuru svāhā priyaṃ mā deveṣu kuru priyaṃ mā brāhmaṇe kuru priyaṃ viśveṣu śūdreṣu priyaṃ rājasu mā kuru svāhā saṃrājaṃ ca svarājaṃ cābhiṣṭīryā ca no gṛhe lakṣmī rāṣṭrasya yā mukhe tayā mā saṃsṛjāmasi svāheti uddhṛtya prakṣālya dakṣiṇam evāgre pratimuñcata āyuṣyaṃ varcasyam iti etad eva maṇikuṇḍalabandhane vidyāt atha srajaṃ pratimuñcate śubhike śira āroha śobhayantī mukhaṃ mama mukhaṃ hi mama śobhaya bhūyāṃsaṃ ca bhagaṃ kuru yām āharaj jamadagniḥ śraddhāyai kāmāyānyai imāṃ tāṃ pratimuñce 'haṃ bhagena saha varcaseti athāṅkte yadāñjanaṃ traikakudaṃ jātaṃ himavata upari mayi parvatavarcasam iti ādarśam avekṣate yan me varcaḥ parāpatitam ātmānaṃ paripaśyataḥ idaṃ tat punar ādade bhagena saha varcaseti vāgyata āsta ā nakṣatrāṇām udayāt uditeṣu nakṣatreṣūpānahāv upamuñcate dyaur asīti dakṣiṇāṃ pṛthivyasīty uttarām upamucyābhimantrayate pratiṣṭhe stho devate mā mā saṃtāptam iti daṇḍam ādatte loke vedāyāsmi dviṣato vadhāya sapatnāñchvāpadān sarīsṛpān hastinaś ceti chatram ādatte prajāpateḥ śaraṇam asi brahmaṇaḥ chadir iti upaniṣkramya diśo 'nuvīkṣate devīḥ ṣaḍ urvīr uru naḥ kṛṇoteti candramasam udīkṣate mā radhāma dviṣate soma rājann iti yatrāsya rātir bhavati tena sambhāṣya yathārtham etīty ekam athaitad aparam tūṣṇīm eva tīrthe snātvodetya tūṣṇīṃ pālāśīṃ samidham ādadhāti saṃvatsaraṃ na maithunaṃ carati dvādaśarātraṃ trirātraṃ vā sarvā sthitayaḥ athārghyaṃ jihīrṣann arghyaṃ vedayate jihīrṣāmeti kurutety āha kaṃse dadhy ānīya madhv ānayati hrasīyasy ānīya varṣīyasāpidadhāti pūrvaḥ kūrcena pratipadyate anvaṅ pādyenānvaṅṅ arghyeṇānvaṅṅ ācamanīyenānvaṅ madhuparkeṇānusaṃvrajati athāsmā āsanam iti vedayate tat pratimantrayate rāṣṭrabhṛd asy ācāryāsandī mā tvad yoṣam iti rājā brāhmaṇo vā rāṣṭrabhṛd asy adhipatyāsandī mā tvad yoṣam iti grāmaṇīḥ senānīr vā athāsmai pādyam iti vedayate tat pratimantrayate āpaḥ pādāvanejanīr dviṣantaṃ nāśayantu me asmin kule brahmavarcasy asāni mayi maho mayi yaśo mayīndriyaṃ vīryam ā mā gan yaśasā varcasā saṃsṛja payasā tejasā ca taṃ mā priyaṃ prajānāṃ kurv adhipatiṃ paśūnām iti savyaṃ pādaṃ pratigṛhya dakṣiṇaṃ pratigṛhṇīyād dakṣiṇaṃ rājā grāmaṇīḥ senānīr vā athāsmā arghyamiti vedayate tad etenaiva pratimantrya virājo doho 'si virājo doham aśīya mayi dohaḥ padyāyai virāja iti pratigṛhya ninayati samudraṃ vaḥ prahiṇomi svāṃ yonim apigacchata acchidraḥ prajayā bhūyāsaṃ mā parāseci mat paya iti athāsmā ācamanīyam iti vedayate ācāmaty amṛtopastaraṇam asīti ācāntodakāyāthāsmai madhuparka iti vedayate tat pratimantrayate yan madhuno madhavyaṃ paramam annādyaṃ rūpaṃ tenāhaṃ madhuno madhavyena parameṇānnādyena rūpeṇa paramo 'nnādo madhavyo bhūyāsam iti pratigṛhya prāśnāti trayyai vidyāyai yaśo 'si yaśaso yaśo 'si brahmaṇo dīptir asi taṃ mā priyaṃ prajānāṃ kurv adhipatiṃ paśūnām iti bhūr bhuvaḥ suvar iti trir ācamyātha rātaye prayacchati svayaṃ vā sarvaṃ prāśnāti athāsmā ācamanīyam iti vedayate ācāmaty amṛtāpidhānam asīti ācāntodakāyāthāsmai gaur iti vedayate tāṃ pratimantrayate gaur asy apahatapāpmāpa pāpmānaṃ jahi pāpmānaṃ mama cāmuṣya ca jahi dviṣantaṃ hanīthā mama dviṣaṃ kuruteti athāsmā annaṃ saṃskṛtya bhūtam iti vedayate tata āha brāhmaṇāṃś caturo nānāgotrān bhojayateti teṣu bhuktavatsv annam āharanti tad etenaiva pratimantrya pratigṛhya pratyavaruhya prāśnāti yathā madhuparkam pratyavaruhyaivāta ūrdhvam annāni prāśnīyād ity ekam athaitad aparam arghyeṣv evaiṣa niyamaḥ syād yathākāmītareṣu atha yadi gām utsṛjet tām abhimantrayate gaur dhenubhavyā mātā rudrāṇāṃ duhitā vasūnāṃ svasādityānām amṛtasya nābhiḥ pra ṇu vocaṃ cikituṣe janāya mā gām aditiṃ vadhiṣṭa pibatūdakaṃ tṛṇāny attu om utsṛjateti atha somapravākāya yatrāsmai somaṃ prāha tad yajñopavītaṃ kṛtvāpa ācamya prāṅ vodaṅ vā tiṣṭhañjapaty āsīno vā bhūr bhuvaḥ suvar āyur me prāvoco varco me prāvoco yaśo me prāvocaḥ śriyaṃ me prāvoca āyuṣmān ahaṃ varcasvī yaśasvī śrīmān apacitimān bhūyāsaṃ bhūr bhuvaḥ suvaḥ sarvaṃ bhūyāsam ity uktvā prati vācaṣ ṭe prati vāṃ jānītaḥ etenaiva bhūtapravākāyoṃ tan mā kṣāyītyantena athāsmā annaṃ sanimitvābhimantrayate annam iva te dṛśe bhūyāsaṃ vittam iva te dṛśe bhūyāsaṃ śrīr asy arvācy āviśāsmān saṃsravantu diśo mahīḥ samāgacchantu sūnṛtāḥ sarve kāmā abhiyantu mā priyā abhirakṣantu mā priyāḥ yaśo 'si yaśo 'haṃ tvayi bhūyāsam asāv ity abhimantryārthaṃ bruvate vyavajihīrṣamāṇaḥ paṇyasyāvadāya juhoti yad ahaṃ dhanena prapaṇaṃ carāmi dhanena devā dhanam icchamānaḥ tasmin somo rucam ādadhātv agnir īśāna indro bṛhaspatiś ca svāheti atha saṃvādajayanaṃ saṃvādam eṣyann āttachatraḥ savyena hastena chatraṃ samāvṛtya dakṣiṇena phalīkaraṇamuṣṭiṃ juhoti avajihvaka nijihvakāva tvā haviṣā yaje tat satyaṃ yad ahaṃ vadāmy adharo mad asau vadāt svāheti yena saṃvadate tam abhimantrayate ā te vācam āsyāṃ dada ā manasyāṃ hṛdayād adhi aṅgād aṅgāt te vācam ādade yatra yatra te vāṅ nihitā tāṃ ta ādade tat satyaṃ yad ahaṃ vadāmy adharo mat padyasvāsāv iti yady asmai subhṛtyāḥ pravrajeyur agnim upasamādhāyeṇḍvāni juhuyāt anu po 'hvad anuhvayo nivṛtto vo nyavīvṛtat aindraḥ parikrośo vaḥ parikrośatu sarvataḥ yadi mām atimanyadhvam adevā devavattaram indraḥ pāśena sitvā vo mahyam it punar ānayād iti vaded vā khādiraṃ śaṅkuṃ nihatya nīlalohitābhyāṃ sūtrābhyām apasavyais triḥ pariveṣṭayed āvartana vartayeti api vai yadi dūragā bhavantīha haiva vartante yaṃ kāmayeta nāyaṃ mat padyeteti dakṣiṇe pāṇāv abhipadyeta yasmin bhūtaṃ ca bhavyaṃ ca viśve devāḥ samāhitāḥ tena gṛhṇāmi tvām ahaṃ mahyaṃ gṛhṇāmi tvām ahaṃ brahmaṇe tvā gṛhṇāmīti na haivāsmāt padyate yaṃ kāmayeta nāyaṃ macchidyeteti amāvāsyāṃ rātriṃ suptaṃ jīvaviṣāṇe svaṃ mūtram ānīyāpasavyais triḥ pariṣiñcan parīyāt pari tvā girer amihaṃ pari bhrātuḥ pari ṣvasuḥ pari sarvebhyo jñātibhyaḥ pariṣītaḥ kveṣyasi śaśvat parikupitena saṃkrāmeṇāvachidā ulena parimīḍho 'si parimīḍho 'sy uleneti na haivāsmāt padyate dīrghasattram āsiṣyamāṇaḥ pravāsam eṣyan bhāryāyāḥ paridāṃ karoti sthūlāḍhārikā jīvacūrṇāni kārayitvāmāvāsyāyāṃ rātryāṃ suptāyām upasthaṃ prativapati somāvāsya parigham anyebhyaḥ puruṣebhyo 'nyatra mad iti yady asyāṃ bahutayāpīcchanti na haiva sidhyanti yadi kāmayeta sidhyeyur iti babhrumūtreṇa prakṣālayasvety enāṃ brūyāt pravāsam eṣyann āmantrayata idaṃ vatsyāmaḥ prāṇa āyuṣi vatsyāma iti athainam abhimantrayate ā mandrair indra haribhir yāhi mayūraromabhiḥ mā tvā ke cin nyemur in na pāśinaḥ dadhanveva tā ihi prāṇa āyuṣi vasāsau pṛthivyām agnau pratitiṣṭha vāyāv antarikṣe sūrye divi yāṃ svastim agnir vāyuḥ sūryaś candramā āpo 'nusaṃcaranti tāṃ svastim anusaṃcarāsau pracyavasva bhuvaspata iti pratipadya śyeno bhūtvā parāpatetyantena yaṃ kāmayeta svasty ayaṃ punar āgacched iti tam etena tryṛcenānvīkṣeta mahi trīṇām avo 'stv iti ihaiva punar āgacchati yaṃ kāmayeta nāyaṃ punar āgacched iti tam anvīkṣeta sākaṃ yakṣma prapatety etayāthainam abhimantrayate paramāṃ tvā parāvatam indro nayatu vṛtrahā yato na punar āyasi śāśvatībhyaḥ samābhya iti na haiva punar āgacchati atha rathārohaṇam yadi rathaṃ labhata āpūryamāṇapakṣe puṇye nakṣatre yojayitvāsthāsyan pakṣasī abhimṛśati bṛhad asīti dakṣiṇaṃ rathaṃtaram asīty uttaraṃ vāmadevyam asīti madhyamam aśvam āsthāya cakre saṃmārṣṭy aṅkau nyaṅkāv abhita ity anuvākaśeṣeṇa yadi śamaratho bhavati tad yajñopavītaṃ kṛtvāpa ācamya bhūmim abhimṛśatīha dhṛtir iha svadhṛtir iha rantir iha ramatir iti atha hastyārohaṇam yadi hastinaṃ labhata āpūryamāṇapakṣe puṇye nakṣatre kalpayitvābhyupaviśatīdam aham amum āmuṣyāyaṇam indrasya vajreṇābhiviśāmy uttaro 'haṃ dviṣadbhya iti athainam abhikrāmayati vaha kāla vaha śriyaṃ mābhivaheti samānaṃ śamarathena yady anupastīrṇe sthaṇḍila upaviśet tad anumantrayate namaḥ pṛthivīṣade rudrāya vāteṣave rudrāya namo rudrāya pṛthivīṣada iti sarpasṛtau sṛjati namaḥ sarpasṛte rudrāya vāteṣave rudrāya namo rudrāya sarpasṛta iti śakṛdrītau japati namaḥ śakṛtsade rudrāya vāteṣave rudrāya namo rudrāya śakṛtsada iti yadi navāni gomayāny antarātikrāmed goṣṭham asīty uktvātikrāmet yadi catuṣpathaṃ samayā vrajet tad anumantrayate namaḥ pṛthivīṣade rudrāya vāteṣave rudrāya namo rudrāya pṛthivīṣada iti yadi śmaśānaṃ samayā vrajet tad anumantrayate namas tatsade rudrāya vāteṣave rudrāya namo rudrāya tatsada iti nadīm udanvatīṃ dṛṣṭvā japati namo 'psuṣade rudrāya vāteṣave rudrāya namo rudrāyāpsuṣada iti yady enaṃ saṃvartavāta āgacchet tad anumantrayate namo 'ntarikṣasade rudrāya vāteṣave rudrāya namo rudrāyāntarikṣasada iti yady enaṃ sicopasṛjet tad anumantrayate sig asi na sig asi vajro namas te astu mā mā hiṃsīr iti adbhir abhyukṣet yady enaṃ vayo 'bhivikṣipet tad anumantrayate ye pakṣiṇaḥ prathayanti bibhyato nirṛtaiḥ saha te mā śivena tigmena tejasondantu varcaseti adbhir abhyukṣet yady enaṃ phalam abhinipatet tad anumantrayate yadi vṛkṣād abhyapatat phalaṃ yady antarikṣāt tad u vāyur eva yatrāspṛkṣat tanuvaṃ yatra vāsa āpo bādhantāṃ nirṛtiṃ parācīr iti adbhir abhyukṣet yady enam avarṣe pruṣitam avavarṣet tad anumantrayate divo nu mā bṛhato antarikṣād apāṃ stoko abhyapatacchivena sam indriyeṇa manasāham āgāṃ brahmaṇā kᄆptaḥ sukṛteneti adbhir abhyukṣet citryaṃ vanaspatiṃ dṛṣṭvā japati ārāt te agnir jvalatv ārāt paraśur astu te nivāte tvābhivarṣatu jīva varṣasahasraṃ tvam namas te 'stu vanaspate svasti me 'stu vanaspata iti prāṅ madhyaṃdināt kṣīriṇo vṛkṣān upaspṛśen nityaṃ nyagrodhaṃ ca sarvatra svayamprajvalite 'gnau samidhāv ādadhyāt uddīpyasva jātavedo 'paghnan nirṛtiṃ mama paśūṃś ca mahyam āvaha jīvanaṃ ca diśo diśaḥ svāhā mā no hiṃsīr jātavedo gām aśvaṃ puruṣaṃ paśum ahiṃsann agna āgahi śriyaṃ mayi paripālaya svāheti ādhāyopatiṣṭhate namo agniṣade rudrāya vāteṣave rudrāya namo rudrāyāgniṣada iti anubhavaṃ paribhavaṃ parivādaṃ parikṣavam duḥsvapnaṃ duruditaṃ śakunais tad dviṣadbhyo diśāmy aham anubhūtaṃ paribhūtaṃ śakunair yad aśākunam mṛgasya sṛtam akṣṇayā tad dviṣadbhyo diśāmy aham pareṇaitu pāpaśakuniḥ pareṇaitu parikṣavaḥ akṣispando duḥsvapna iṣṭir asaṃpad yo no dveṣṭi tam ṛcchatv ity etaṃ mantraṃ japaty upabādha upabādhe ca yathāliṅgaṃ sarvatraivāpa upaspṛśet athaitāny adbhutaprāyaścittāni bhavanti kuptvāṃ kapota upāvekṣīt madhvāgāra upāvekṣīt sthūṇā vyaraukṣīt valmīka udeti so 'haḥkṣāntaḥ prayatavastro brāhmaṇasaṃbhāṣo 'stamita āditye 'ntarāgāre 'gnim upasamādhāya jayābhyātānān rāṣṭrabhṛta iti hutvaitā āhutīr juhoti pūrṇā paścād imaṃ me varuṇa tat tvā yāmi tvaṃ no agne sa tvaṃ no agne tvam agne ayāsy ayāś cāgne 'sy anabhiśastīś ca yad asya karmaṇo 'tyarīricaṃ prajāpata iti uttamāṃ hutvā brāhmaṇān annena pariveṣayet athaiva payasi sthālīpākaḥ pautryaḥ paśavyaḥ svargya āyuṣyaḥ svayambhojyas tena yajeta sarveṣu parvasv audumbaram idhmam abhyādhāyaudumbaryā darvyopastīrṇābhighāritaṃ sthālīpākaṃ juhoti sahasram etu prathamaṃ babhrūya yaśasā saha āgatya babhruḥ piṅgākṣaḥ sahasreṇāvakāṅkṣatu svāhā diśo diśo jātavedo mahyaṃ jīvanam āvaha paśūnāṃ viśvarūpāṇāṃ yathāhaṃ sumate vasāni svāhā devānāṃ saṃbhṛto rasaḥ prājāpatyaṃ yaśo mahat juhomy annānāṃ rasam achidrā kīrtir astu me svāhā agnāv agniś carati praviṣṭa ṛṣīṇāṃ putro 'dhirājā eṣaḥ svāhākṛtya brahmaṇā te juhomi mā devānāṃ mithuyā kar bhāgadheyam mo 'smākaṃ momuhad bhāgadheyaṃ svāheti yathopadeśaṃ kāmyāni balayaś ca ekāgnir dvādaśāhaṃ vicchinnaḥ punarādheyaḥ sa eṣa aupanāyaniko 'gnir uktaḥ tasya paricaryā samidbhir brahmacarye sāyaṃ prātar yathopadeśam snāta oṣadhībhir yathopapannena vānnena strī caivaṃ bhartari pramīte pāṇigrahaṇād ūrdhvam pārvaṇaḥ paurṇamāsyām amāvāsyāyāṃ vā rohiṇyāṃ mṛgaśirasi punarvasvor vā madhyaṃdina ādadhīta uddhate 'vokṣite sikatopopte pariśrite nidadhāti yājñikāt kāṣṭhād agniṃ mathitvā laukikaṃ vāhṛtya praṇavenāharati brahmā praṇavena prasauti āsīno vyāhṛtībhiḥ praṇavenādadhāti bhūr bhuvaḥ suvar oṃ pṛthivyāṃ tvām ṛta ādadhāmi satye tvām ṛta ādadhāmy ṛte tvām ṛta ādadhāmy amṛte tvām ṛta ādadhāmi vihāya dauṣkṛtyaṃ sādhukṛtyam iti tata etaiḥ pṛthivyāṃ tvām ṛta ādadhāmi satye tvām ṛta ādadhāmy ṛte tvām ṛta ādadhāmy amṛte tvām ṛta ādadhāmīti ājyena cauṣadhībhiś ca śamanīyābhir āhutībhis tisṛbhiḥ śamayati yā te agne pavamānā paśuṣu priyā tanūr yā pṛthivyāṃ yāgnau yā rathaṃtare yā gāyatre chandasīdaṃ te tām avarundhe tasyai te svāhā yā te agne pāvakāpsu priyā tanūr yāntarikṣe yā vāyau yā vāmadevye yā traiṣṭubhe chandasīdaṃ te tām śamīmayīm tatas tūṣṇīm aupāsanaṃ hutvā yās te agne ghorās tanuvaḥ snik ca snīhitiś cety etābhyām anuvākābhyām upasthāya samānaṃ dārvihomikā pariceṣṭā dārvihomikāṃ pariceṣṭāṃ kṛtvā ājyam adhiśrityotpūya sruvaṃ ca juhūṃ ca niṣṭapya saṃmṛjya caturgṛhītena srucaṃ pūrayitvā dvādaśagṛhītena vā pūrṇāhutiṃ juhoti sapta te agne samidhaḥ sapta jihvā ity etām anudrutya svāhākāreṇa juhoti hutāyāṃ pūrṇāhutau varaṃ dadāti dhenuṃ vāso 'naḍvāhaṃ hiraṇyaṃ vā sruci caturgṛhītaṃ gṛhītvā tisras tantumatīr juhoti tantuṃ tanvann udbudhyasvāgne trayastriṃśat tantava iti aparaṃ caturgṛhītaṃ gandhapuṣpadhūpadīpair amuṣmai svāhāmuṣmai svāhety annenāmuṃ tarpayāmy amuṃ tarpayāmīti phalodakenātra namasyanti trīn ādito 'nuvākān adhīyante kāṇḍādīn vā sarvān kāṇḍāt kāṇḍāt prarohantīti dvābhyām sampannam iti pṛṣṭveḍā devahūr ity anuvākaśeṣaṃ japet brāhmaṇān bhojayitvāśiṣo vācayati saṃvatsare sapiṇḍīkaraṇam ekādaśe māsi ṣaṣṭhe caturthe dvādaśe 'hani yadi puṇyāhakāla upavyāvarteta pitṝṇām āvāhanam savyasya pāṇer aṅguṣṭhenopamadhyamayā cāṅgulyālabhya pṛthivīṃ japet ye pārthivāsaḥ pitaro ye antarikṣe ye divi ye vāmṛtā babhūvuḥ te 'smin yajñe 'mṛtā mādayantām iti catvāri pātrāṇi satilagandhodakena pūrayitvaikaṃ pretasya trīṇi pitṝṇām ekaṃ vā pitṝṇāṃ pretapātraṃ pitṛpātreṣv āsiñcati ye samānā ye sajātā iti dvābhyām asau pitṛbhiḥ pitāmahebhiḥ prapitāmahebhiḥ sahaitat te tilodakaṃ tasmai te svadhā nama iti tilodakapradānam agnaukaraṇam anudeśanīyaṃ ca yathārtham ūhed āsecane sapiṇḍī vyākhyātā yathāśraddhaṃ dakṣiṇā bhavanti ata ūrdhvaṃ māsiśrāddhena atha gṛhyaprāyaścittāni yāni smaryante tāni vakṣyāmaḥ śeṣāṇi vaitānikāni syuḥ homadevatāyāḥ samāmnānāt phalaśruteś ca yā evāgnihotre devatās tā aupāsane ya evāhitāgner dharmaḥ sa eva dharmo ya evāhitāgner lokaḥ sa evaupāsanikasyeti śāṭyāyanibrāhmaṇaṃ bhavati tatra ye puroḍāśāsta iha caravaḥ payodadhipṛṣadājyānām ājyavat saṃskāraḥ na dadhno 'dhiśrayaṇam pratyasane pariṣecanam adbhiḥ raudrarākṣasanairṛtapaitṛkachedanabhedanakhanananirasanāvaghrāṇātmābhimarśanāni ca kṛtvāpa upaspṛśet sarvatra skanne bhinne kṣāme dagdhe viparyāse 'ntarite ca dve mindāhutī juhoti yan ma ātmano mindābhūt punar agniś cakṣur adād iti dvābhyām atha skanne saṃ tvā siñcāmīti skannam abhimantryonnambhaya pṛthivīm ity apo 'bhyavahṛtya bhūr ity upasthāyāskān dyauḥ pṛthivīm ity āhutiṃ juhoti athājyaṃ ced devāñ janam agan yajña iti cānumantraṇaṃ kiṃcic ca dadyāt bhinne bhūmir bhūmim agād iti bhinnam abhimantryonnambhaya pṛthivīm ity apo 'bhyavahṛtya trayastriṃśat tantava ity etayā juhuyāt agnau prakṣepaṇaṃ dārumaye atha kṣāme nirṛtyai tveti vidagdham abhimantrya tvaṃ parācī tvam avācī tvaṃ rakṣāṃsi gaccheti dakṣiṇāparam uttarāparaṃ vā diśaṃ taṃ prati nirasyati agnī rakṣāṃsi sedhatīti tisra ājyāhutīr juhuyāt ahaviṣya āgamanam anyasya ekadeśaś ced uddhṛtyaitat kṛtvaitayā juhuyāt etenāśṛtaduḥśṛte vyākhyāte apo 'bhyavaharet yatra kva cendhanam agnāv ādadhyāt svāhākāreṇādadhātīti vijñāyate rudrāya tvety aśṛtam abhimantrya yamāya tveti duḥśṛtam atha paristaraṇadāhe 'gnaye kṣāmavate namo namaḥ kṣāmavān mā mā hiṃsīn mā me gṛhaṃ mā me dhanaṃ mā me prajāṃ mā me paśūn ity abhimantryāgnaye kṣāmavate namo nama ity āhutiṃ juhuyāt indraṃ vo viśvataḥ parīti punaḥ paristīryendrāya svāhety āhutiṃ juhuyāt atha paridhidāhe pradāvyāyāgnaye namo namaḥ pradāvyāyeti samānamata ūrdhvam agneḥ samid asīti paścārdhaṃ yamasya samid asīti dakṣiṇārdhaṃ somasya samid asīty uttarārdham indhānās tvā śataṃ himā ity āhutiṃ juhuyāt duṣṭe 'nyaṃ paridadhyād gandharvo 'sīti pratimantram atha viparyāse tvaṃ no agne sa tvaṃ no agne tvam agne ayāsi prajāpata iti catasra āhutīr juhuyāt etā evāntarite mano jyotir juṣatām iti pañcamīm antaritaṃ ca kuryāt saṃsthite cej jānīyāt kiṃcic ca dadyāt uttarasmin kāla āgate homaś ceti nivṛttaḥ pūrvasya seyaṃ kālātipattiḥ tasyāṃ prāyaścittaṃ mano jyotir iti pūrvasya hutvāparasya juhuyāt evaṃ pratihomam ā daśarātrāt prāṇāyāmaś caikādaśīprabhṛty ā viṃśatirātrāt upavāsaś cā triṃśadrātrāt ata ūrdhvam ā ṣaṣṭirātrāt tisro rātrīr upavaset ata ūrdhvaṃ prājāpatyaṃ vihitam ekādaśīprabhṛti tisraś ca tantumatīs tantuṃ tanvann udbudhyasvāgne trayastriṃśat tantava iti uktam anugata ity api vāyāś cāgne 'sīti juhuyād ā trirātrāt mano jyotir ity ā saptarātrāt ata ūrdhvam ā dvādaśarātrāt tisro rātrīr upavaset ata ūrdhvaṃ prājāpatyaṃ vihitam ekādaśīprabhṛti tisraś ca tantumatīḥ uktaṃ dvādaśāhaṃ vicchinna ity ekādaśīprabhṛty upavāsaḥ pūrvavat atha parvaṇy atīte mano jyotir ayāś cāgne yad asminn agne svasti na indra iti catasra ājyāhutīr hutvā sthālīpākaṃ ca kuryāt prāg aṣṭamyāḥ ata ūrdhvaṃ sopavāsaḥ kāryo dvayor dvau triṣu traya iti evaṃ naimittikeṣv atīteṣu prāyaścittam pārvaṇavaddhomaḥ pitṛyajñe 'tīte pakṣātyaye sopavāsaḥ kārya iti siddham nityeṣu caivam eva syāt atha mahāyajñānām mano jyotir iti dvayos trayāṇāṃ caturṇāṃ pañcānāṃ vā ṣaṣṭhaprabhṛti tisras tantumatīr hutvā catasro vāruṇīr japed imaṃ me varuṇa tat tvā yāmi yac ciddhi te yat kiṃ cety ā navarātrāt ata ūrdhvam ā daśarātrāc catasro 'bhyāvartinīr hutvā kāryas tāntumataś caruḥ snātakasyāpi homavichittāv uktam prāpte prājāpatye tasya vichittis tasya tu punarādheyam mano jyotis tantumatīḥ punas tvādityā rudrā iti ca pūrṇāhutiṃ pratīyāt etām agnyupaghāteṣu sarvatra striyāś caivaṃ homābhigamanasthālīpākeṣu sarveṣām antato vyāhṛtīr iti siddham nama ācāryebhyo nama ācāryebhyaḥ
