antāḥ mantrāḥ homeṣu pākayajñaḥ iti ākhyā yaḥ kaḥ ca eka agnau tatra ṛtvij brahmā sāyam prātar homa varjam svayam hautram dakṣiṇatas agneḥ udak mukhaḥ tūṣṇīm āste brahmā ā homāt prāc agreṣu kāmam tu adhiyajñam vyāharet ayajñiyām vā vyāhṛtya mahāvyāhṛtīḥ japet vā idam viṣṇuḥ iti hautra brahmatve svayam kurvan brahma āsanam upaviśya chattram uttarāsaṅgam kamaṇḍalum vā tatra kṛtvā atha anyat kuryāt a vyāvṛttim yajñāṅgaiḥ a vyavāyam ca icchet pūrve bhāge veśmanaḥ gomayena upalipya tasya madhya deśe lakṣaṇam kuryāt dakṣiṇatas prācīm lekhām ullikhya tad ārambhāt udīcīm tad avasānāt prācīm tisraḥ madhye prācīḥ tat abhyukṣya agnim upasamādhāya imam stomam iti parisamūhya tṛcena paścāt agneḥ bhūmau nyañcau pāṇī kṛtvā idam bhūmeḥ iti vasu antam rātrau paścāt darbhān āstīrya dakṣiṇatas prācīm prakarṣet uttaratas ca a prakṛṣya vā pūrva upakramam pradakṣiṇam agnim stṛṇuyāt mūlāni agraiḥ chādayan trivṛtam pañcavṛtam vā upaviśya darbha agre prādeśa mātre pracchinatti na nakhena pavitre sthaḥ vaiṣṇavyau iti adbhiḥ unmṛjya viṣṇoḥ manasā pūte stha iti udak agre aṅguṣṭhābhyām anāmikābhyām ca saṃgṛhya tris ājyam utpunāti devaḥ tvā savitā utpunātu acchidreṇa pavitreṇa vasoḥ sūryasya raśmibhiḥ iti abhyukṣya ete agnau anupraharet ājyam adhiśritya uttaratas kuryāt dakṣiṇa jānu aktaḥ dakṣiṇena agnim adite anumanyasva iti udaka añjalim prasiñcet anumate anumanyasva iti paścāt sarasvati anumanyasva iti uttaratas deva savitar prasuva iti pradakṣiṇam agnim paryukṣet abhipariharan sakṛt tris vā havyam samidham ādhāya prapadam japitvā upatāmya kalyāṇam dhyāyan vairūpākṣam ārabhya ucchvaset pratikāmam kāmyeṣu sarvatra etat homeṣu kuryāt brahmacārī vedam adhītya upanyāhṛtya gurave anujñātaḥ dārān kurvīta āplavanam ca tayoḥ āplavanam pūrvam mantra abhivādāt tu pāṇigrahaṇasya pūrvam vyākhyātam brāhmaṇaḥ saha uda kumbhaḥ prāvṛtaḥ vāgyataḥ agreṇa agnim gatvā udak mukhaḥ tiṣṭhet snātām ahatena ācchādya yāḥ akṛntan iti ānīyamānāyām pāṇigrāhaḥ japet somaḥ adadat iti pāṇigrāhasya dakṣiṇatas upaveśayet anvārabdhāyām sruveṇa upaghātam mahāvyāhṛtibhiḥ ājyam juhuyāt samastābhiḥ caturthām evam caula upanayana godāneṣu agniḥ etu prathamaḥ iti ṣaḍbhiḥ ca pāṇigrahaṇe na ājyabhāgau na sviṣṭakṛt ājya āhutiṣu anādeśe sarvatra upariṣṭāt mahāvyāhṛtibhiḥ prājāpatyayā ca prāyaścittam juhuyāt hutvā upottiṣṭhataḥ anu pṛṣṭham gatvā dakṣiṇatas avasthāya vadhū añjalim gṛhṇīyāt pūrvā mātā śamī palāśa miśrān lājān śūrpe kṛtvā paścāt agneḥ dṛṣatputram ākramayet vadhvam dakṣiṇena prapadena imam aśmānam iti sakṛt gṛhītam añjalim lājānām vadhū añjalau āvapet bhrātā suhṛd _ kaścid tam sā agnau juhuyāt a vicchidya añjalim iyam nārī iti aryamāṇam pūṣaṇam iti uttarayoḥ hute tena eva gatvā pradakṣiṇam agnim pariṇayet kanyalā pitṛbhyaḥ iti avasthāna prabhṛti evam tris śūrpeṇa śiṣṭān agnau opya prāñc udañcam utkramayet ekam iṣe iti īkṣaka avekṣaṇa ratha ārohaṇa durga anumantraṇāni abhirūpābhiḥ apareṇa agnim audakaḥ gatvā pāṇigrāham mūrdhani avasiñcet vadhvam ca samañjatu iti avasiktaḥ dakṣiṇam pāṇim sa aṅguṣṭham gṛhṇīyāt gṛbhṇāmi te iti ṣaḍbhiḥ prāñc udañcam udvahet brāhmaṇa kule agnim upasamādhāya paścāt agneḥ lohitam carma ānaḍuham uttara loma prāk grīvam āstīrya haviṣyasya annasya juhuyāt prājāpatyam sauviṣṭakṛtam ca balīn nayet bahis antar vā catuḥ nidhāya maṇika deśe madhye dvāri śayyām anu varcam vā atha sa stūpam ekaikam ubhayatas pariṣiñcet śeṣam adbhiḥ kuryāt sarvasya tu annasya etat kuryāt asakṛt ced ekasmin kāle siddhe sakṛt eva kuryāt bahudhā ced yat gṛhapateḥ sarvasya tu annasya agnau kṛtvā agram brāhmaṇāya dattvā svayam kuryāt vrīhi prabhṛti ā yavebhyaḥ yavebhyaḥ vā ā vrīhibhyaḥ svayam haret svayam haret paurṇamāsa upakramau darśa pūrṇamāsau dārśam _ pūrvam upapadyeta paurṇamāsena iṣṭvā atha tat kuryāt a kurvan paurṇamāsīm ākāṅkṣet iti eke aparāhṇe snātvā aupavasathikam dampatī bhuñjīyātām mānadantavyaḥ uvāca śreyasam prajām vindate kāmyaḥ bhavati akṣodhukaḥ yaḥ aupavasathikam bhuṅkte tasmāt yat kāmayeta tat bhuñjīta na avratyam ācaret prātarāhutim hutvā haviḥ nirvapet amuṣmai tvā juṣṭam nirvapāmi iti devatā āśrayam sakṛt yajuḥ _ dvis tūṣṇīm tris devebhyaḥ prakṣālayet dvis manuṣyebhyaḥ sakṛt pitṛbhyaḥ mekṣaṇena pradakṣiṇam udāyuvam śrapayet śṛtam abhighārya udañcam udvāsya pratyabhighārayet sarvāṇi evam havīṃṣi barhiṣi āsādya ājyabhāgau juhuyāt caturgṛhītam ājyam gṛhītvā pañca avattam bhṛgūṇām jāmadagnyānām agnaye svāhā iti uttaratas somāya iti dakṣiṇatas viparītam itare ājyam upastīrya haviṣaḥ avadyet mekṣaṇena madhyāt purastāt iti paścāt ca pañca avattī abhighārya pratyanakti avadāna sthānāni na sviṣṭakṛtaḥ amuṣmai _ iti juhuyāt yad devatyam syāt sviṣṭakṛtaḥ sakṛt upastīrya dvis bhṛgūṇām sakṛt haviṣaḥ dvis abhighārya agnaye sviṣṭakṛte _ iti prāñc udīcyām juhuyāt samidham ādhāya darbhān ājye haviṣi _ tris avadhāya agra madhya mūlāni aktam rihāṇāḥ viyantu vayaḥ iti abhyukṣya agnau anupraharet yaḥ paśūnām adhipatiḥ rudraḥ tanti caraḥ vṛṣā paśūn naḥ mā hiṃsīḥ etat astu hutam te _ iti tat yajñavāstu sarvatra kuryāt haviḥ ucchiṣṭam udak udvāsya brahmane dadyāt pūrṇapātram dakṣiṇā yathotsāham _ āgneya sthālīpākaḥ anāhitāgneḥ darśa pūrṇamāsayoḥ agnīṣomīyaḥ paurṇamāsyām āhitāgneḥ aindraḥ māhendraḥ _ aindrāgnaḥ _ amāvāsyāyām yathā _ anāhitāgneḥ sarvam ahar prātarāhutyāḥ sthānam rātriḥ sāyamāhuteḥ sarvaḥ aparapakṣaḥ paurṇamāsasya pūrvapakṣaḥ dārśasya abhojanena saṃtanuyāt iti eke a vidyamāne havye yajñiyānām phalāni juhuyāt palāśāni _ apaḥ _ hutam hi prāyaścittam a hutasya ājyam juhuyāt haviṣaḥ anādeśe devatā mantra anādeśe prathama garbhe tṛtīye māsi puṃsavanam snātām ahatena ācchādya hutvā patiḥ pṛṣṭhatas tiṣṭhet dakṣiṇam aṃsam anvavamṛśya anantarhitam nābhi deśam abhimṛśet pumāṃsau iti atha aparam nyagrodha śuṅgām ubhayatas phalām a srāmām a krimi parisṛptām triḥsaptaiḥ yavaiḥ parikrīya utthāpayet māṣaiḥ _ sarvatra oṣadhayaḥ sumanasaḥ bhūtvā asyām vīryam samādhatta iyam karma kariṣyati iti āhṛtya vaihāyasām kuryāt kumārī brahmacārī vratavatī _ brāhmaṇī peṣayet a pratyāharantī snātām saṃveśya dakṣiṇe nāsikāsrotasi āsiñcet pumān agniḥ iti atha asyāḥ caturthe māsi ṣaṣṭhe _ sīmantonnayanam snātām ahatena ācchādya hutvā patiḥ pṛṣṭhatas tiṣṭhan anupūrvayā phala vṛkṣa śākhayā sakṛt sīmantam unnayet tri śvetayā ca śalalyā ayam ūrjāvataḥ vṛkṣaḥ iti kṛsaraḥ sthālīpākaḥ uttara ghṛtam avekṣatīm pṛccheta kim paśyasi iti prajām iti vācayet pratiṣṭhite vastau soṣyantī homaḥ yā tiraścī iti dvābhyām asau iti nām dadhyāt tat guhyam prāk nābhi kṛntanāt stana dānāt ca vrīhi yavau peṣayet śuṅgā āvṛtā aṅguṣṭhena anāmikayā ca ādāya kumāram prāśayet iyam ājñā iti sarpiḥ ca medhām te iti jananāt jyautsne tṛtīye tṛtīyāyām prātar snāpya kumāram astamite śāntāsu dikṣu pitā candramasam upatiṣṭhet prāñjaliḥ śucinā ācchādya mātā prayacchet udak śirasam anu pṛṣṭham gatvā uttaratas tiṣṭhet yat te su sīmaḥ iti tisṛbhiḥ upasthāya udañcam mātre pradāya yat adaḥ iti apām añjalim avasiñcet dvis tūṣṇīm jananāt ūrdhvam daśa rātrāt śata rātrāt saṃvatsarāt vā nāma kuryāt snāpya kumāram kariṣyataḥ upaviṣṭasya śucinā ācchādya mātā prayacchet udak śirasam anu pṛṣṭham gatvā uttaratas upaviśet hutvā kaḥ asi iti tasya mukhyān prāṇān abhimṛśet asau iti nāma kuryāt tat eva mantra ante mātre prathamam ākhyāya viproṣya aṅgāt aṅgāt iti putrasya mūrdhānam parigṛhṇīyāt paśūnām tvā iti abhijighret tūṣṇīm striyāḥ tṛtīye varṣe caulam tatra nāpitaḥ uṣṇa udakam ādarśaḥ kṣuraḥ vā audumbaraḥ piñjūlyaḥ iti dakṣiṇatas ānaḍuhaḥ gomayaḥ kṛsaraḥ sthālīpākaḥ vṛthāpakvaḥ iti uttaratas mātā ca kumāram ādāya hutvā ayam āgāt iti nāpitam prekṣet savitāram dhyāyan uṣṇena iti uṣṇa udakam prekṣet vāyum dhyāyan āpaḥ iti undet viṣṇoḥ iti ādarśam prekṣet audumbaram vā oṣadhe iti darbha piñjūlīḥ sapta ūrdhva agrāḥ abhinidhāya svadhite iti ādarśena kṣureṇa audumbareṇa vā yena pūṣā iti dakṣiṇatas tris prāñcam prohet sakṛt āyasena pracchidya ānaḍuhe gomaye keśān kuryāt undana prabhṛti evam paścāt uttaratas ca tri āyuṣam iti putrasya mūrdhānam parigṛhya japet udaṅ utsṛpya kuśalī kārayet yathāgotrakulakalpam araṇye keśān nikhaneyuḥ stambe nidadhati eke gauḥ dakṣiṇā aṣṭame varṣe brāhmaṇam upanayet tasya ā ṣoḍaśāt an atītaḥ kālaḥ ekādaśe kṣatriyam tasya ā dvāviṃśāt dvādaśe vaiśyam tasya ā caturviṃśāt kuśalīkṛtam alaṃkṛtam ahatena ācchādya hutvā agne vrata pate iti uttaratas agneḥ pratyak mukham avasthāpya añjalim kārayet svayam ca upari kuryāt dakṣiṇatas tiṣṭhan mantravān brāhmaṇaḥ ācāryāya udaka añjalim pūrayet āgantrā iti japet prekṣamāṇe kaḥ nāma asi iti uktaḥ devatā āśrayam nakṣatra āśrayam vā abhivādanīyam nāma brūyāt asau asmi iti utsṛjya apaḥ devasya te iti dakṣiṇa uttarābhyām hastābhyām añjalim gṛhṇīyāt ācāryaḥ sūryasya iti pradakṣiṇam āvartayet dakṣiṇam aṃsam anvavamṛśya anantarhitām nābhim ālabhet prāṇānām iti atha enam paridadyāt antaka prabhṛtibhiḥ dakṣiṇam aṃsam prajāpataye tvā iti savyena savyam devāya tvā iti brahmacārī asi iti saṃpreṣya upaviśya dakṣiṇa jānu aktam añjali kṛtam pradakṣiṇam muñja mekhalām ābadhnan vācayet iyam duruktāt iti adhīhi bho iti upasīdet tasmai anvāha sāvitrīm pacchas ardharcaśaḥ sarvām iti sāvitrīm vācayet mahāvyāhṛtīḥ ca ekaikaśas oṃkāram ca prayacchati asmai vārkṣam daṇḍam su śravaḥ su śravasam mā iti samidham ādadhyāt agnaye samidham iti bhaikṣam caret mātaram agre atha anyāḥ suhṛdaḥ ācāryāya bhaikṣam nivedayet tiṣṭhet ā astamayāt tūṣṇīm tri rātram kṣāra lavaṇa dugdham iti varjayet godāne caula vat kalpaḥ sa lomam vāpayet go aśva avi mithunāni dakṣiṇāḥ pṛthak varṇānām sarveṣām vā gauḥ ajaḥ keśa pratigrahāya uktam upanayanam na a cariṣyantam saṃvatsaram adhas saṃveśī a madhu māṃsa āśī syāt maithuna kṣura kṛtya snāna avalekhana danta dhāvana pāda dhāvanāni varjayet na asya kāme retaḥ skandet na go yuktam ārohet na grāme upānahau mekhalā dhāraṇa bhaikṣa carya daṇḍa samidh ādhāna upasparśana prātarabhivādāḥ nityam godāna vrātika āditya vrata aupaniṣada jyeṣṭhasāmikāḥ saṃvatsarāḥ na ādityavratam ekeṣām ye caranti eka vāsasaḥ bhavanti ādityam ca na antardadhate na ca apaḥ abhyupayanti śakvarīṇām dvādaśa nava ṣaṭ trayaḥ vikalpāḥ kṛṣṇa vastraḥ kṛṣṇa bhakṣaḥ ācārya adhīnaḥ tiṣṭhet divā āsīta naktam saṃvatsaram ekeṣām pūrvaiḥ śrutāḥ ced upoṣitāya pariṇaddha akṣāya anugāpayet yathā mā na pradhakṣyati iti tam prātar abhivīkṣayanti yāni a pradhakṣyanti manyante apaḥ agnim vatsam ādityam apaḥ abhivyakhyam iti apaḥ jyotiḥ abhivyakhyam iti agnim paśūn abhivyakhyam iti vatsam abhivyakhyam iti ādityam visṛjet vācam gauḥ dakṣiṇā kaṃsaḥ vāsaḥ rukmaḥ ca anupravacanīyeṣu ṛcam sāma sadasaspatim iti ca ājyam juhuyāt cityayūpa upasparśana karṇakrośa akṣi vepaneṣu sūrya abhyuditaḥ sūrya abhinirmuktaḥ indriyaiḥ ca pāpa sparśaiḥ punar mām iti etābhyām āhutim juhuyāt ājya lipte vā samidhau japet vā laghuṣu japet vā laghuṣu āplavane purastād ācāryakulasya parivṛta āste udaṅmukha ācāryaḥ prāgagreṣu evaṃ brahmavarcasakāmaḥ goṣṭhe paśukāmaḥ sabhāyāṃ yaśaskāmaḥ sarvauṣadhenāpaḥ phāṇayet surabhibhiś ca tābhiḥ śītoṣṇābhir ācāryo 'bhiṣiñcet svayaṃ vā mantrābhivādāt ubhāv ity eke tenemam ity ācāryo brūyāt ye apsv ity apām añjalim avasiñcet yad apām iti ca tūṣṇīṃ ca yo rocana iti gṛhyātmānam abhiṣiñcet yena striyam iti ca tūṣṇīṃ ca udyann ity ādityam upatiṣṭhet samasyed vā viharann anusaṃharec cakṣur asīti ud uttamam iti mekhalām avamuñcet prāśya vāpayec chikhāvarjaṃ keśaśmaśrulomanakhāni alaṃkṛto 'hatavāsasā śrīr iti srajaṃ pratimuñcet netryau stha ity upānahau vaiṇavaṃ daṇḍam ādadhyāt gandharvo 'sīti upetyācāryaṃ pariṣadaṃ prekṣed yakṣam iveti upaviśyauṣṭhāpidhāneti mukhyān prāṇān abhimṛśet goyuktaṃ ratham ālabhet vanaspata iti āsthātā ta ity ārohet prācīṃ prayāyodīcīṃ vā pradakṣiṇam āvartayet pratyāgatāyārghyam ity eke vṛddhaśīlī syād ata ūrdhvam nājātalomyopahāsam icchet nāyugvā na rajasvalayā na samānarṣyā aparayā dvārā prapannadviḥpakvaparyuṣitāni nāśnīyāt anyatra śākamāṃsayavapiṣṭavikārebhyaḥ pāyasāc ca phalapracayanodapānāvekṣaṇavarṣatidhāvanopānatsvayaṃharaṇāni na kuryāt nāgandhāṃ srajaṃ dhārayen na ceddhiraṇyasrak bhadram iti na vṛthā vyāharet puṣṭikāmo gāḥ prakālayetemā ma iti pratyāgatā imā madhumatīr iti puṣṭikāma eva prathamajātasya vatsasya prāṅ mātuḥ pralehanāl lalāṭam ullihya nigiret gavām iti samprajātāsu goṣṭhe niśāyāṃ vilayanaṃ juhuyāt saṃgraheṇeti athāparaṃ vatsamithunayoḥ karṇe lakṣaṇaṃ kuryāt bhuvanam iti puṃso 'gre lohitenety anumantrayeta tantīṃ prasāritām iyaṃ tantīti śrāvaṇyāṃ paurṇamāsyāṃ gṛhyādagnim atipraṇīya pratidiśamupalimpedadhike prakrame sakṛdgṛhītān saktūn darvyāṃ kṛtvā pūrvopalipte ninīyāpo yaḥ prācyāmiti baliṃ nirvapet ninayedapāṃ śeṣam apa upaspṛśyaivaṃ pratidiśaṃ yathāliṅgam dakṣiṇapaścime antareṇāgniṃ ca saṃcaraḥ śūrpeṇa śiṣṭān agnāvopyātipraṇītād anatipraṇītasyārdhaṃ gatvā nyañcau pāṇī kṛtvā namaḥ pṛthivyā iti japet tata utthāya somo rājeti darbhastambamupasthāya akṣatānādāya
