hastam agrabhīt pūṣā te hastam agrabhīd bṛhaspatiste hastam agrabhīn mitraste hastamagrabhīd varuṇas te hastam agrabhīt tvaṣṭā te hastamagrabhīd dhātā te hastamagrabhīd viṣṇuste hastamagrabhīt prajāpatiste hastamagrabhīd iti savitā tvābhirakṣatu mitras tvamasi dharmaṇāgnirācāryas tava devena savitrā prasūto bṛhaspaterbrahmacārī bhavāsāv apo 'śānaḥ samidha ādhehi karma kuru mā divā svāpsīr athāsya dakṣiṇena hastena dakṣiṇaṃ hastaṃ sāṅguṣṭhaṃ gṛhṇāty agnirāyuṣmān iti pañcabhiḥ paryāyaiḥ āyuṣ ṭe viśvato dadhad iti dakṣiṇe karṇe japati āyurdā agna ityuttare agnau pṛthivyāṃ pratitiṣṭha vāyāvantarikṣe sūrye divi yāṃ svastim agnir vāyur ādityaś candramā āpo 'nusaṃcaranti tāṃ svastim anusaṃcarāsau prāṇasya brahmacāryabhūr asāv ity ubhayatrānuṣajati medhāṃ ta indro dadātu medhāṃ devī mātaramevāgre bhikṣeta ato 'nyeṣu rātikuleṣu āhṛtya bhaikṣam iti gurave prāha tatsubhaikṣam ityuktvā yasya te prathamavāsyaṃ harāmastaṃ tvā viśve avantu devās taṃ tvā bhrātaraḥ suhṛdo vardhamānamanujāyantāṃ bahavaḥ sujātam iti prathamavāsyam asyādatte upasthite 'nna odanasyāpūpānāṃ saktūnām iti samavadāya sarpirmiśrasya juhoty agnaye svāhā somāya svāhāgnaye 'nnādāya svāhāgnaye 'nnapataye svāhā prajāpataye svāhā viśvebhyo devebhyaḥ svāhā sarvābhyo devatābhyaḥ svāhāgnaye sviṣṭakṛte svāheti sarvatraivam anādiṣṭadevate amuṣmai svāheti yathādevatam ādiṣṭadevate eteṣām evānnānāṃ samavadāya prāgagreṣu darbheṣu baliṃ karoti vāstupataye svāheti trivṛtānnena brāhmaṇān pariviṣya puṇyāhaṃ svastyayanam ṛddhimiti vācayitvā tryahavrataṃ carati akṣāram alavaṇam aśamīdhānyaṃ bhuñjāno 'dhaḥśāyy amṛnmayapāyy aśūdrocchiṣṭy amadhumāṃsāśy adivāsvāpy ubhau kālau bhikṣācaryam udakumbham ity āharann aharahaḥ kāṣṭhakalāpam ubhau kālau sāyaṃ sāyaṃ vā samidho 'bhyādadhāti purastāt pariṣecanād yathā ha tadvasavo gauryam iti pradakṣiṇamagniṃ parimṛjya pariṣiñcati yathā purastāt vyāhṛtibhiḥ samidho 'bhyādadhāty ekaikaśaḥ samastābhiś caiṣā te agne samit tayā vardhasva cā ca pyāyasva vardhiṣīmahi ca vayam ā ca pyāsiṣīmahi svāhā medhāṃ ma indro dadātu medhāṃ devī sarasvatī medhāṃ me aśvināvubhāv ādhattāṃ puṣkarasrajau svāhāpsarāsu ca yā medhā gandharveṣu ca yanmano daivī medhā manuṣyajā sā māṃ medhā surabhirjuṣatāṃ svāhā ā māṃ medhā surabhir viśvarūpā hiraṇyavarṇā jagatī jagamyā ūrjasvatī payasā pinvamānā sā māṃ medhā supratīkā juṣatāṃ svāheti tathaiva parimṛjya pariṣiñcati yathā purastāt yatte agne tejas tenāham ityetair mantrair upatiṣṭhate mayi medhāṃ mayi prajām iti ca tryahe paryavete tathaiva trivṛtānnena brāhmaṇān pariviṣya puṇyāhaṃ svastyayanam ṛddhim iti vācayitvā vrataṃ visṛjate 'gne vratapate vratam acāriṣam ityetaiḥ saṃnataiḥ etad vrata evāta ūrdhvam ācāryakulavāsy aśnāti kṣāraṃ lavaṇaṃ śamīdhānyamiti daṇḍī jaṭī mekhalī śikhājaṭo vā syāt kāṣāyamajinaṃ vā vaste na striyamupaiti aṣṭācatvāriṃśadvarṣāṇi caturviṃśatiṃ dvādaśa yāvadgrahaṇaṃ vā na tvevāvrataḥ syāt kāṇḍopākaraṇe kāṇḍavisarge ca sadasaspatim adbhutaṃ priyam indrasya kāmyaṃ saniṃ medhām ayāsiṣaṃ svāheti kāṇḍarṣir dvitīya imaṃ me varuṇa tattvā yāmi tvaṃ no agne sa tvaṃ no agne tvamagne ayāsi prajāpate yad asya karmaṇo 'tyarīricam iti cātraike jayābhyātānān rāṣṭrabhṛta ity upajuhvati yathā purastāt adhītya vedaṃ snānam tadvyākhyāsyāmaḥ udagayana āpūryamāṇapakṣe rohiṇyāṃ mṛgaśirasi tiṣya uttarayoḥ phalgunyorhaste citrāyāṃ viśākhayorvaiteṣu snāyāt yatrāpastadgatvāgnimupasamādhāya vyāhṛtiparyantaṃ kṛtvā pālāśīṃ samidhamādadhātīmaṃ stomamarhate jātavedase ratham iva saṃmahemā manīṣayā bhadrā hi naḥ pramatirasya saṃsady agne sakhye mā riṣāmā vayaṃ tava svāheti atha vyāhṛtibhirjuhoti yathā purastāt tryāyuṣaṃ jamadagneḥ kaśyapasya tryāyuṣaṃ yaddevānāṃ tryāyuṣaṃ tanme astu tryāyuṣaṃ svāhā imaṃ me varuṇa tattvā yāmi tvaṃ no agne sa tvaṃ no agne trāyasvainam ity ūrdhvāgrām oṣadhim antardadhāti svadhite mainaṃ hiṃsīr iti kṣureṇābhinidadhāti devaśrūr etāni pravapa iti pravapati yatkṣureṇa marcayatā supeśasā vaptarvapasi keśaśmaśru varcayā mukhaṃ mā na āyuḥ pramoṣīr iti vaptāraṃ samīkṣate śmaśrūṇyagre vāpayate 'thopapakṣāvatha keśān atha lomānyatha nakhāni ānaḍuhe śakṛtpiṇḍe saṃyamya keśaśmaśrulomanakhānīdam aham amuṣyāmuṣyāyaṇasya pāpmānamavagūhāmīti goṣṭha udumbare darbhastambe vā nikhanati yo 'sya rātirbhavati snāyanīyenotsādyaudumbareṇa dantān prakṣālayate annādyāya vyūhadhvaṃ dīrghāyutvāya vyūhadhvaṃ brahmavarcasāya vyūhadhvaṃ dīrghāyur aham annādo brahmavarcasī bhūyāsamiti athoṣṇaśītābhir adbhiḥ snāpayaty āpo hi ṣṭhā mayobhuva iti tisṛbhir hiraṇyavarṇāḥ śucayaḥ pāvakā iti catasṛbhiḥ pavamānaḥ suvarjana iti caitenānuvākena goṣṭhe vāvacchādya saṃpariśritya purodayamādityasya praviśaty atra sarvaṃ kriyate nainam etad ahar ādityo 'bhitapatīty ekeṣāṃ snātānāṃ vā eṣa tejasā tapati ya eṣa tapati tasmātsnātakasya mukhaṃ rephāyatīva āharantyasmai sarvasurabhi candanaṃ vā piṣṭaṃ tadabhyukṣya namo grahāya cābhigrahāya ca namaḥ śākajañjabhābhyāṃ namastābhyo devatābhyo yā abhigrāhiṇīr iti devebhyaḥ prācīnam añjaliṃ kṛtvā tenānulimpate 'psarāsu ca yo gandho gandharveṣu ca yadyaśo daivyo yo mānuṣo gandhaḥ sa mām āviśatād iheti āharantyasmā ahate vāsasī te abhyukṣya somasya tanūrasi tanuvaṃ me pāhi svā mā tanūrāviśa śivā mā tanūr āviśety antarīyaṃ vāsaḥ paridhāyāpa upaspṛśya tathaivottarīyam apareṇāgniṃ prāṅmukha upaviśati āharantyasmai kuṇḍale cāndanamaṇiṃ bādaraṃ vā suvarṇābhicchādanaṃ tadubhayaṃ darbheṇa prabadhyoparyagnau dhārayannabhijuhoty āyuṣyaṃ varcasyaṃ rāyaspoṣam audbhidam idaṃ hiraṇyam āyuṣe varcase jaitryāyāviśatāṃ māṃ svāhoccair vāji pṛtanāsāhaṃ sabhāsāhaṃ dhanaṃjayaṃ sarvāḥ samagrā ṛddhayo hiraṇye 'smin samābhṛtāḥ svāhā śunamahaṃ hiraṇyasya pituriva nāmāgrabhiṣaṃ taṃ mā hiraṇyavarcasaṃ karotu pūruṣu priyaṃ brahmavarcasinaṃ mā karotu svāhā priyaṃ mā kuru deveṣu priyaṃ mā brahmaṇi kuru priyaṃ viśyeṣu śūdreṣu priyaṃ mā kuru rājasu svāheyam oṣadhe trāyamāṇā sahamānā sahasvatī sā mā hiraṇyavarcasaṃ karotu pūruṣu priyaṃ brahmavarcasinaṃ mā karotu svāheti etaireva pañcabhir asvāhākārais triḥ pradakṣiṇam udapātre 'nupariplāvya virājaṃ ca svarājaṃ cābhiṣṭīr yā ca no gṛhe lakṣmī rāṣṭrasya yā mukhe tayā mā saṃsṛjāmasīti kuṇḍale pratiharate dakṣiṇe karṇe dakṣiṇaṃ savye savyam ṛtubhiṣṭvārtavair āyuṣe varcase saṃvatsarasya dhāyasā tena sannanugṛhṇāsīti kuṇḍale saṃgṛhṇīte iyamoṣadhe trāyamāṇā sahamānā sahasvatī sā mā hiraṇyavarcasaṃ karotu pūruṣu priyaṃ brahmavarcasinaṃ mā karotv apāśo 'sīti grīvāyāṃ maṇiṃ pratimuñcate śubhike śubhamāroha śobhayantī mukhaṃ mama mukhaṃ ca mama śobhaya bhūyāṃsaṃ ca bhagaṃ kuru yāmāharajjamadagniḥ śraddhāyai kāmāyāsyai imāṃ tāṃ pratimuñce 'haṃ bhagena saha varcasā iti dvābhyāṃ srajaṃ pratimuñcate yadāñjanaṃ traikakudaṃ jātaṃ himavata upari tena vām āñje 'haṃ bhagena saha varcasā mayi parvatapūruṣam iti traikakudenāñjanenāṅkte tasminn avidyamāne yenaiva kenacit yanme manaḥ parāgatam ityādarśe 'vekṣate devasya tvā iti vaiṇavaṃ daṇḍaṃ pratigṛhya indrasya vajro 'sy aśvinau mā pātam iti trirūrdhvamunmārṣṭi vega vejayāsmad dviṣatas taskarān sarīsṛpāñchvāpadān rakṣāṃsi piśācān pauruṣeyād bhayānno daṇḍa rakṣa viśvasmād bhayād rakṣa sarvato jahi taskarān anagnaḥ sarvavṛkṣeṣu jāyase tvaṃ sapatnahā jahi śatrugaṇānsarvānsamantaṃ maghavāniva iti triḥ pradakṣiṇamuparyupari śiraḥ pratiharate pratiṣṭhe stho devate mā mā saṃtāptam ityupānahāv adhyavarohati prajāpateḥ śaraṇamasi brahmaṇaśchadiḥ iti chattraṃ pratigṛhṇāti yo me daṇḍaḥ parāpatad vihāyaso 'dhi bhūmyām imaṃ taṃ punarādadeyamāyuṣe ca balāya ca iti daṇḍaṃ punarādatte yadyasya hastāt patati ānayantyasmai ratham aśvaṃ hastinaṃ vā rathaṃtaram asi vāmadevyam asi bṛhadasi aṅkau nyaṅkāvabhitaḥ ityeṣā ayaṃ vām aśvinā ratho mā duḥkhe mā sukhe riṣat ariṣṭaḥ svasti gacchatu vivighnann abhidāsataḥ iha dhṛtir iha vidhṛtir iha rama iha ramatām iti rathamātiṣṭhate yadi rathena praviśati aśvo 'si hayo 'si mayo 'sīty ekādaśabhir aśvanāmabhir aśvaṃ yadyaśvena indrasya tvā vajreṇābhyupaviśāmi vaha kālaṃ vaha śriyaṃ mābhivaha hastyasi hastiyaśasamasi hastivarcasam asi hastiyaśasihastivarcasī bhūyāsam iti hastinaṃ yadi tena tad gacchati yatrāsmā apacitiṃ kariṣyanto bhavanti saṃsravantu diśo mayi samāgacchantu sūnṛtāḥ sarve kāmā abhiyantu naḥ priyā abhisravantu naḥ priyāḥ iti diśa upatiṣṭhate yaśo 'si yaśo 'haṃ tvayi bhūyāsam iti yo 'syāpacitiṃ kariṣyanbhavati tamabhyāgacchansamīkṣate athāsmā āvasathaṃ kalpayitvā arghaḥ iti prāha kuruta iti pratyāha kurvantyasmai trivṛtaṃ pāṅktaṃ vā dadhi madhu ghṛtam iti trivṛt dadhi madhu ghṛtam āpaḥ saktava iti pāṅktaḥ kaṃse dadhyānīya madhvānayati hrasīyasyānīya varṣīyasāpidhāyānūcīnāni pṛthagādāpayati kūrcaṃ pādyam arghyam ācamanīyaṃ madhuparka iti anvaṅṅ anusaṃvṛjinā so 'nupakiṃcayā vācaikaikaṃ prāha kūrcaḥ iti kūrcam tasminprāṅmukha upaviśati rāṣṭrabhṛdasyācāryāsandī mā tvadyoṣam iti athāsmai pādyam iti prāha tenāsya śūdraḥ śūdrā vā pādau prakṣālayati savyamagre brāhmaṇasya dakṣiṇamitarayoḥ virājo doho 'si mayi dohaḥ padyāyai virājaḥ iti yo 'sya pādau prakṣālayati tasya hastāvabhimṛśyātmānaṃ pratyabhimṛśati mayi teja indriyaṃ vīryam āyuḥ kīrtir varco yaśo balam iti athāsmai arghyam iti prāha tat pratigṛhṇāti ā māgan yaśasā saṃsṛja tejasā varcasā payasā ca taṃ mā kuru priyaṃ prajānām adhipatiṃ paśūnām iti samudraṃ vaḥ prahiṇomyakṣitāḥ svāṃ yonim apigacchatāchidraḥ prajayā bhūyāsaṃ mā parāseci matpayaḥ iti śeṣaṃ ninīyamānam anumantrayate athāsmai ācamanīyam iti prāha amṛtopastaraṇam asīty apa ācāmati athāsmai madhuparkaḥ iti prāha taṃ sāvitreṇobhābhyāṃ hastābhyāṃ pratigṛhya pṛthivyāstvā nābhau sādayāmīḍāyāḥ pada iti pṛthivyāṃ pratiṣṭhāpya yanmadhuno madhavyaṃ paramam annādyaṃ rūpaṃ tenāhaṃ madhuno madhavyena parameṇa rūpeṇa paramo madhavyo 'nnādo bhūyāsam ityaṅguṣṭhenopamadhyamayā cāṅgulyā triḥ pradakṣiṇaṃ saṃyujya tejase tvā śriyai yaśase balāyānnādyāya prāśnāmīti triḥ prāśya yo 'sya rātirbhavati tasmā ucchiṣṭaṃ prayacchati sarvaṃ vā prāśyāmṛtāpidhānam asīty apa ācāmati athāsmai gauḥ iti prāha tasyāḥ karmotsargo vā gaurdhenurbhavyā mātā rudrāṇāṃ duhitā vasūnāṃ svasādityānām amṛtasya nābhiḥ pra ṇu vocaṃ cikituṣe janāya mā gām anāgām aditiṃ vadhiṣṭa pibatūdakaṃ tṛṇānyattu omutsṛjata ityutsarge saṃśāsti gaur asy apahatapāpmāpa pāpmānaṃ jahi mama cāmuṣya ca hataṃ me dviṣantaṃ hato me dviṣan kuruta iti kriyamāṇāyām utsarge 'nyena māṃsenānnaṃ saṃskṛtyāthāsmai bhūtam iti prāha tat subhūtaṃ virāḍannaṃ tanmā kṣāyi tan meśīya tanma ūrjaṃ dhās tat subhūtam ityuktvāthāha brāhmaṇān bhojayata iti teṣvasmai bhuktavatsvanusaṃvṛjinam annam āhārayati tat pratigṛhṇāti dyauste dadātu pṛthivī pratigṛhṇātu pṛthivī te dadātu prāṇaḥ pratigṛhṇātu prāṇastvāśnātu prāṇaḥ pibatu iti indrāgnī me varcaḥ kṛṇutām iti yāvatkāmaṃ prāśya yo 'sya rātirbhavati tasmā ucchiṣṭaṃ prayacchati yaṃ kāmayeta na vicchidyeteti yasminbhūtaṃ ca bhavyaṃ ca sarve lokā iha śritāḥ tena tvāhaṃ pratigṛhṇāmi tvāmahaṃ brahmaṇā tvā mahyaṃ pratigṛhṇāmy asāv ityācamya bhuktavato dakṣiṇaṃ hastaṃ gṛhṇīyāt yam amātyam antevāsinaṃ preṣyaṃ vā kāmayeta dhruvo me 'napāyī syāditi sa pūrvāhṇe snātaḥ prayatavastro 'haḥkṣānto brāhmaṇasaṃbhāṣo niśāyāṃ tasyāvasathaṃ gatvā jīvaśṛṅge prasrāvya triḥ pradakṣiṇam āvasathaṃ pariṣiñcan parikrāmet pari tvā gireriha pari bhrātuḥ pari ṣvasuḥ pari sarvebhyo jñātibhyaḥ pariṣīdaḥ kleṣyasi śaśvat parikupilena saṃkrāmeṇāvicchidā ūlena parimīḍho 'si parimīḍho 'syūlena iti anigupte jīvaśṛṅgaṃ nidadhāti yasmā amātyā antevāsinaḥ preṣyā voddraveyus tān parikrośet anupauhvadanupahvayen nivarto yo nyavīvṛdhaḥ indro vaḥ parikrośaḥ parikrośatu sarvadā yaditi māmatimanyadhvaṃ māyādevā avataran indraḥ pāśena vaḥ siktvā mahyaṃ punar udājatu iti so 'tha svāgāraṃ praviśya saidhrakīṃ samidham ādhāya ā vartana vartaya ityākarṣaṇena juhoti athāto dāraguptim sthūrā dṛḍhā jārī cūrṇāni kārayitvā suptāyai yonim upavaped indrāyayāsya śepham alīkam anyebhyaḥ puruṣebhyo 'nyatra mad iti athātaḥ paṇyasiddhiḥ paṇyasyāpādāya juhoti yadvo devāḥ prapaṇaṃ carāma devā dhanena dhanam icchamānāḥ tasmin somo rucam ādadhātv agnirindro bṛhaspatirīśānaśca svāheti athātaḥ krodhavinayanam yā ta eṣā rarāṭyā tanūr manyor mṛddhasya nāśinī tāṃ devā brahmacāriṇo vinayantu sumedhasaḥ yatta etanmukhe mataṃ rarāṭam ud iva vidhyasi ava dyām iva dhanvino hṛdo manyuṃ tanomi te ahar dyauśca pṛthivī ca vidhe krodhaṃ nayāmasi garbhamaśvataryā iva iti kruddham abhimantrayate athātaḥ saṃvādābhijayanam niśāyām antarāgāre 'gnim upasamādhāya vyāhṛtiparyantaṃ kṛtvā kaṇair ājyamiśrair juhoti avajihva nijihvikāva tvā haviṣā yaje yathāham uttaro vadāmyadharo vad asau vadā svāheti athainaṃ saṃnidhāvabhijapati ā te vācam āsyād ade manasyāṃ hṛdayād adhi aṅgād aṅgāt te vācam ādade yatra yatra nihitā vāktāṃ ta ādade rudra nīlaśikhaṇḍa vīra karmaṇi karmaṇīmaṃ me pratisaṃvādinaṃ vṛkṣam ivāśaninā jahi adho vadādharo vadādhastād bhūmyā vada adhopratir iva kūṭena nijasya nihito mayā tatsatyaṃ yad ahaṃ bravīmy adharo matpadyasvāsāv iti hiraṇyabāhuḥ subhagā jitākṣyalaṃkṛtā madhye devānām āsīnārthaṃ mahyam avocat svāheti sabhām ālabhya japati mama pare mamāpare mameyaṃ pṛthivī mahī mamāgniś cendraśca divyam artham asādhayanniva iti pariṣadam abhivīkṣate 'bhyeva japati darśe candramasaṃ dṛṣṭvāpa ācamyāpo dhārayamāṇaḥ ā pyāyasva saṃ te navo navo bhavati jāyamānaḥ yamādityā aṃśumāpyāyayantīti catasṛbhirupatiṣṭhate mayi dakṣakratū iti jañjabhyamāno japati sig asi nasi vajro namaste astu mā mā hiṃsīḥ iti sicādhikṣipto japati tasya tantumācchidya mukhavātena pradhvaṃsayet ye pakṣiṇaḥ patayanti bibhyato nirṛtaiḥ saha te mā śivena śagmena tejasondantu varcasā iti vayasādhikṣipto japati tadanyena hastāt pramṛjyādbhiḥ prakṣālayīta divo nu mā bṛhato antarikṣād apāṃ stoko abhyapatacchivāya samindriyeṇa manasāhamāgāṃ brahmaṇā guptaḥ sukṛtā kṛtena iti japed yadyenam avijñāto 'pāṃ stoko 'bhicchādayet yadi vṛkṣāgrād abhyapatat phalaṃ yad vāntarikṣāt tad u vāyureva yatrā vṛkṣastanuvai yatra vāsa āpo bādhantāṃ nirṛtiṃ parācaiḥ iti japed yadyenam avijñātaṃ phalamabhipatet namaḥ pathiṣade vāteṣave rudrāya namo rudrāya pathiṣada iti catuṣpatham avakramya japati namaḥ paśuṣade vāteṣave rudrāya namo rudrāya paśuṣada iti śakṛddhatau namaḥ sarpasade vāteṣave rudrāya namo rudrāya sarpasada iti sarpasṛpte namo 'ntarikṣasade vāteṣave rudrāya namo rudrāyāntarikṣasada iti japed yady enaṃ saṃvartavāta āgacchet namo 'psuṣade vāteṣave rudrāya namo rudrāyāpsuṣada iti nadīm udanvatīm avagāhya japati namastatsade vāteṣave rudrāya namo rudrāya tatsada iti citraṃ deśaṃ devayajanaṃ vanaspatiṃ vākramya japati sūryābhyudito 'hani nāśnīyād vāgyato 'hastiṣṭhet sūryābhinimrukto rātrāvevam na yūpamupaspṛśet yady upaspṛśed duriṣṭaṃ yajñasya pratimuñcīta yadyekam upaspṛśet eṣa te vāyo iti brūyād yadi dvau etau te vāyū iti yadi bahūn ete te vāyavaḥ iti anihūtaṃ parihūtaṃ pariṣṭutaṃ śakunai ruditaṃ ca yat mṛgasya śṛtamakṣṇayā taddviṣadbhyo bhayāmasīty adhvānam abhipravrajañjapati udgāteva śakune sāma gāyasi brahmaputra iva savaneṣu śaṃsasi svasti naḥ śakune astu śivo naḥ sumanā bhava ityanabhipretaṃ śakunaṃ pratijapati yadetadbhūtānyanvāviśya daivīṃ vācaṃ vadasi dviṣato naḥ parāvada tānmṛtyo mṛtyave naya ityekasṛkam athāsmā ubhayata ādīptam ulmukaṃ tāṃ diśaṃ prati nirasyati agne agninā saṃvadasva mṛtyo mṛtyunā saṃvadasva ity apa upaspṛśya athainamupatiṣṭhate vibhūr asi pravāhaṇaḥ ityetenānuvākena yadīṣito yadi vā svakāmī bhayeḍako vadati vācam etāṃ tām indrāgnī brahmaṇā saṃvidānau śivāmasmabhyaṃ kṛṇutaṃ gṛheṣu iti salāvṛkīm prasārya sakthyau patasi savyamakṣi nipepi ca meha kasyacanāmamad iti śakunim hiraṇyapakṣaḥ śakunirdevānāṃ vasatiṃgamaḥ grāmaṃ pradakṣiṇaṃ kṛtvā svasti no vada kauśika iti piṅgalām punarmāmaitvindriyaṃ punarāyuḥ punarbhagaḥ punarbrāhmaṇamaitu mā punardraviṇamaitu mā iti athaite dhiṣṇiyāso agnayo yathāsthānaṃ kalpantāmihaiva svāhā punarma ātmā punarāyurāgāt punaḥ prāṇaḥ punarākūtamāgāt vaiśvānaro raśmibhir vāvṛdhāno 'ntas tiṣṭhatu me mano 'mṛtasya ketuḥ svāhā yadannamadyate sāyaṃ na tatprātaravati kṣudhaḥ sarvaṃ tadasmānmā hiṃsīn na hi taddivā dadṛśe divaḥ svāhā ityanabhipretaṃ svapnaṃ dṛṣṭvā tilair ājyamiśrairjuhoti athaitānyadbhutaprāyaścittāni bhavanti kuptvā kapota upāvikṣat madhvāgāra upāvikṣat gaur gām adhaiṣīt sthūṇā vyaraukṣīt valmīka udaikṣīd ityevaṃrūpāṇi sa pūrvāhṇe snātaḥ prayatavastro 'haḥkṣānto brāhmaṇasaṃbhāṣo 'ntarāgāre 'gnim upasamādhāya vyāhṛtiparyantaṃ kṛtvā juhotīmaṃ me varuṇa tattvā yāmi tvaṃ no agne sa tvaṃ no agne tvamagne ayāsi prajāpate yadasya karmaṇo 'tyarīricam iti cātraike jayābhyātānān rāṣṭrabhṛta ityupajuhvati yathā purastāt brāhmaṇān annena pariviṣya puṇyāhaṃ svastyayanam ṛddhim iti vācayitvā indrāgnī vaḥ prasthāpayatām aśvināvabhirakṣatāṃ bṛhaspatir vo gopālaḥ pūṣā vaḥ punarudājatu iti gāḥ pratiṣṭhamānā anumantrayate pūṣā gā anvetu naḥ iti ca imā yā gāva āgamannayakṣmā bahusūvarīḥ nadya iva sravantu samudra iva niṣiñcantu iti gā āyatīḥ pratīkṣate saṃsthā stha saṃsthā vo bhūyāsthācyutā stha mā mā cyoḍhvaṃ māhaṃ bhavatībhyaś cauṣīḥ iti saṃsthitāḥ ūrjā vaḥ paśyāmy ūrjā mā paśyata iti goṣṭhagatāḥ sahasrapoṣaṃ vaḥ puṣyāsam iti ca ato gavāṃ madhye 'gnim upasamādhāya vyāhṛtiparyantaṃ kṛtvā payasā juhoti uddīpyasva jātavedo 'paghnannirṛtiṃ mama paśūṃśca mahyam āvaha jīvanaṃ ca diśo diśa svāhā mā no hiṃsījjātavedo gāmaśvaṃ puruṣaṃ jagat abibhrad agna āgahi śriyā mā paripātaya svāhā apām idaṃ nyayanam namaste harase śociṣa iti ca imaṃ me varuṇa tattvā yāmi tvaṃ no agne sa tvaṃ no agne tvamagne ayāsi prajāpate yad asya karmaṇo 'tyarīricam iti cātraike jayābhyātānān rāṣṭrabhṛta ityupajuhvati yathā purastāt samāvṛttaḥ ācārya kulāt mātā pitarā bibhṛyāt tābhyām anujñātaḥ bhāryām upayacchet sajātām nagnikām brahmacāriṇīm a sagotrām ahnaḥ pañcasu kāleṣu prātar saṃgave madhyaṃdine aparāhṇe sāyam vā eteṣu yatkārī syāt puṇya ahe eva kurute agnim upasamādhāya paridhāna antam kṛtvā vadhvam ānīyamānām samīkṣate su maṅgalā iyam vadhūḥ imām sameta paśyata saubhāgyam asyai dattvāya atha astam viparetana iti dakṣiṇatas patim bhāryā upaviśati ācānta samanvārabdhāyām pariṣiñcati yathā purastāt vyāhṛti paryantam kṛtvā juhoti agniḥ aitu prathamaḥ devatānām saḥ asyai prajām muñcatu mṛtyu pāśāt tat ayam rājā varuṇaḥ anumanyatām yathā iyam strī pautram agham na rodāt _ imām agniḥ trāyatām gārhapatyaḥ prajām asyai nayatu dīrgham āyuḥ a śūnya upasthā jīvatām astu mātā pautram ānandam abhiprabudhyatām iyam _ mā te gṛhe niśi ghoṣaḥ utthāt anyatra tvat rudatyaḥ saṃviśantu mā tvam vikeśī uraḥ āvadhiṣṭhāḥ jīva patnī pati loke virāja prajām paśyantī sumanasyamānām _ dyauḥ te pṛṣṭham rakṣatu vāyuḥ ūrū aśvinaḥ ca stanam dhayataḥ te putrān savitā abhirakṣatu ā vāsasaḥ paridhānāt bṛhaspatiḥ viśvāḥ devāḥ abhirakṣantu paścāt _ aprajastām pautra mṛtyum pāpmānam _ _ agham śīrṣaṇaḥ srajam iva unmucya dviṣadbhyaḥ pratimuñcāmi pāpam _ deva kṛtam brāhmaṇam kalpamānam tena hanmi yoniṣadaḥ piśācān kravya adaḥ mṛtyūn adharān pādayāmi dīrgham āyuḥ te jīvantu putrāḥ _ iti imam mama varuṇaiḥ tat tvā yāmi tvam naḥ agne saḥ tvam naḥ agne tvam agne ayāsi prajāpate iti hutvā aśmānam āsthāpayati ātiṣṭha imam aśmānam aśmā iva tvam sthirā bhava pramṛṇīhi durasyūn sahasva pṛtanāyataḥ iti apareṇa agnim dvayān darbhān pūrva aparān udak agrān saṃstīrya teṣu pūrva aparau avatiṣṭhete prāc mukhaḥ pratyak mukhyāḥ hastam gṛhṇīyāt pratyak mukhaḥ prāc mukhyāḥ _ _ kāmayeta puṃsaḥ janayeyam iti aṅguṣṭham gṛhṇīyāt _ kāmayeta striyaḥ iti aṅgulīḥ _ kāmayeta ubhayam janayeyam iti _ iva lomāni aṅguṣṭham saha aṅgulibhiḥ gṛhṇīyāt sarasvati pra idam iva subhage vājinīvati tām tvā viśvasya bhūtasya prajāyām asi agratas gṛhṇāmi te suprajāstvāya hastam mayā patinā jaradaṣṭiḥ yathā asat bhagaḥ aryamā savitā puraṃdhiḥ me tvā aduḥ gārhapatyāya devāḥ iti tām agreṇa dakṣiṇam aṃsam pratyañcam abhyāvṛtya abhimantrayate a ghora cakṣuḥ a pati ghnī edhi śivā paśubhyaḥ sumanāḥ suvarcāḥ jīva sūḥ vīra sūḥ syonā śam naḥ edhi dvipade śam catuṣpadāya tām naḥ pūṣn śivatamām erayasva yasyām bījam manuṣyāḥ vapanti yā naḥ ūrū uśatī viśrayātai yasyām uśantaḥ praharema śepam somaḥ prathamaḥ vivide gandharvaḥ vivide uttaraḥ tṛtīyaḥ agniḥ te patiḥ turīyaḥ aham manuṣya jāḥ somaḥ adadāt gandharvāya gandharvaḥ agnaye adadāt paśūn ca me putrān ca agniḥ dadāti atha u tvā asmi sā tvam dyauḥ aham pṛthivī tvam sām aham ṛc tvam tau ehi saṃbhavāva saha retaḥ dadhāvahai puṃse putrāya vettavai rāyaspoṣāya suprajāstvāya su vīryāya imām tvam indraiḥ mīḍhvaḥ su putrām subhagām kuru daśa asyām putrān ādhehi patim ekādaśam kuru iti tām yathāyatanam upaveśya atha asyāḥ añjalau ājyena upastīrya lājān dvis āvapati imān lājān āvapāmi samṛddhi karaṇān mama te ca saṃvananam tat agniḥ anumanyatām ayam iti abhighārya iyam nārī upabrūte agnau lājān āvapatī dīrgha āyuḥ astu mama patiḥ edhantām jñātayaḥ mama _ iti tasyāḥ añjalinā juhoti ud āyuṣā iti utthāpya viśvāḥ _ tvayā vayam dhārāḥ udanyāḥ iva atigāhemahi dviṣaḥ iti pradakṣiṇam agnim parikramya tathā eva lājān āvapati dvitīyam parikramya tathā eva lājān āvapati tṛtīyam parikramya sauviṣṭakṛtām juhoti atra eke jaya abhyātānān rāṣṭrabhṛtaḥ iti upajuhvati yathā purastāt tām apareṇa agnim prāñcam udañcam _ viṣṇukramān krāmayati atha enām saṃśāsti dakṣiṇena prakramya savyena anuprakrāma mā savyena dakṣiṇam atikrāmīḥ iti ekam iṣe viṣṇuḥ tvā anvetu dve ūrje viṣṇuḥ tvā anvetu trīṇi vratāya viṣṇuḥ tvā anvetu catvāri māyobhavāya viṣṇuḥ tvā anvetu pañca paśubhyaḥ viṣṇuḥ tvā anvetu ṣaṣ rāyaspoṣāya viṣṇuḥ tvā anvetu sapta saptabhyaḥ hotrābhyaḥ viṣṇuḥ tvā anvetu iti saptamam padam avasthāpya japati sakhāyau sapta padau abhūva sakhyam te gameyam sakhyāt te mā yoṣam sakhyāt mama mā yoṣṭhāḥ iti atha asyāḥ dakṣiṇena pādena dakṣiṇam pādam avakramya dakṣiṇena hastena dakṣiṇam aṃsam upari upari anvavamṛśya hṛdaya deśam abhimṛśati yathā purastāt prāṇānām granthiḥ asi saḥ mā visrasaḥ iti nābhi deśam tām apareṇa agnim prāñcam upaveśya purastāt pratyañc tiṣṭhan adbhiḥ prokṣati āpaḥ hi stha mayobhuvaḥ iti tisṛbhiḥ hiraṇya varṇāḥ śucayaḥ pāvakāḥ iti catasṛbhiḥ pavamānaḥ suvarjanaḥ iti ca etena anuvākena atra bījāni adhiśrayanti tām tatas pravāhayanti pra _ hārayanti samopya etam agnim anuharanti nityaḥ dhāryaḥ anugataḥ manthyaḥ śrotriya agārāt _ āhāryaḥ upavāsaḥ ca anugate bhāryāyāḥ pateḥ _ āgāram prāpya atha enām saṃśāsti dakṣiṇam pādam agre atihara dehalīm mā adhiṣṭhāḥ iti pūrva ardhe śālāyām nyupya upasamādadhāti apareṇa agnim lohitam ānaḍuham carma prācīna grīvam uttara loma āstṛṇāti tasmin prāc mukhau udak mukhau _ upaviśataḥ paścāt patim bhāryā upaviśati iha gāvaḥ niṣīdantu iha aśvāḥ iha pūruṣāḥ iha u sahasra dakṣiṇaḥ api pūṣā niṣīdatu iti vācaṃniyamau āsāte ā nakṣatrāṇām udayāt uditeṣu nakṣatreṣu prāñcam udañcam _ diśam upaniṣkramya devīḥ ṣaṣ urvīḥ iti diśaḥ upatiṣṭhate mā hāsmahi prajayā iti nakṣatrāṇi mā radhāma dviṣate somaiḥ rājñ iti candramasam saptarṣayaḥ prathamām kṛttikānām arundhatīm ye dhruva tām ha ninyuḥ ṣaṣ kṛttikā mukhya yogam vahatī iyam naḥ bhrājatu aṣṭamā iti saptarṣīn upasthāya dhruvam upatiṣṭhate dhruva kṣitiḥ dhruvayoḥ nidhruvam asi dhruvataḥ sthitam tvam nakṣatrāṇām methī asi saḥ mām pāhi pṛtanyataḥ namaḥ brahmane dhruvāya acyutāya astu namaḥ brahmanaḥ putrāya prajāpataye namaḥ brahmanaḥ putrebhyaḥ devebhyaḥ trayastriṃśebhyaḥ namaḥ brahmanaḥ putra pautrebhyaḥ aṅgirobhyaḥ yaḥ tvā dhruvam acyutam sa putram sa pautram brahma veda dhruvāḥ asmin putrāḥ pautrāḥ bhavanti preṣya antevāsinaḥ vasanam kambalāni kaṃsam hiraṇyam striyaḥ rājānaḥ annam abhayam āyuḥ kīrtiḥ varcaḥ yaśaḥ balam brahmavarcasam annādyam iti etāni mayi sarvāṇi dhruvāṇi acyutāni santu dhruvaṃ tvā brahma veda dhruvo 'ham asmiṃl loke 'smiṃś ca janapade bhūyāsam acyutaṃ tvā brahma veda māham asmāl lokād asmāc ca janapadāc cyoṣi dviṣan me bhrātṛvyo 'smāl lokād asmāc ca janapadāc cyavatām aceṣṭaṃ tvā brahma veda māham asmāl lokād asmāc ca janapadāc ceṣṭiṣi dviṣan me bhrātṛvyo 'smāl lokād asmāc ca janapadāc ceṣṭatām avyathamānaṃ tvā brahma veda māham asmāl lokād asmāc ca janapadād vyathiṣi dviṣan me bhrātṛvyo 'smāl lokād asmāc ca janapadād vyathatām nabhyaṃ tvā sarvasya veda nabhyam aham asya janapadasya bhūyāsam madhyaṃ tvā sarvasya veda madhyam aham asya janapadasya bhūyāsam tantiṃ tvā sarvasya veda tantir aham asya janapadasya bhūyāsam methīṃ tvā sarvasya veda methy aham asya janapadasya bhūyāsam nābhiṃ tvā sarvasya veda nābhir aham asya janapadasya bhūyāsam yathā nābhiḥ prāṇānāṃ viṣūvān evam ahaṃ viṣūvān ekaśataṃ taṃ pāpmānamṛcchatu yo 'smān dveṣṭi yaṃ ca vayaṃ dviṣmo bhūyāṃsi mām ekaśatāt puṇyāny āgacchantu iti atra manojñena sambhāṣyāgāraṃ prāpyāthainām āgneyena sthālīpākena yājayati patny avahanti śrapayitvābhighāryodvāsyāgnaye hutvāgnaye sviṣṭakṛte juhoti tena brāhmaṇaṃ vidyāvantaṃ pariveveṣṭi yo 'syāpacito bhavati tasmā ṛṣabhaṃ dadāti nityam ata ūrdhvaṃ parvasv āgneyena sthālīpākena yajate nityaṃ sāyaṃ prātar vrīhibhir yavair vā hastenaite āhutī juhoti agnaye svāhā prajāpataye svāhā iti saurīṃ pūrvāṃ prātar eke samāmananti trirātram akṣārālavaṇāśināv adhaḥśāyināv alaṃkurvāṇau brahmacāriṇau vasataḥ caturthyām apararātre 'gnim upasamādhāya prāyaścittiparyantaṃ kṛtvā nava prāyaścittīr juhoti agne prāyaścitte tvaṃ prāyaścittir asi brāhmaṇas tvā nāthakāma upadhāvāmi yāsyai ghorā tanūs tāmito nāśaya svāhā vāyo prāyaścitte tvaṃ prāyaścittir asi brāhmaṇas tvā nāthakāma upadhāvāmi yāsyai ninditā tanūstāmito nāśaya svāhā āditya prāyaścitte tvaṃ prāyaścittir asi brāhmaṇas tvā nāthakāma upadhāvāmi yāsyai patighnī tanūstāmito nāśaya svāhā āditya prāyaścitte vāyo prāyaścitte 'gne prāyaścitte 'gne prāyaścitte vāyo prāyaścitta āditya prāyaścitta iti hutvāthāsyai mūrdhni saṃsrāvaṃ juhoti bhūr bhagaṃ tvayi juhomi svāhā bhuvo yaśastvayi juhomi svāhā suvaḥ śriyaṃ tvayi juhomi svāhā bhūr bhuvaḥ suvas tviṣiṃ tvayi juhomi svāheti atraivodapātraṃ nidhāya pradakṣiṇam agniṃ parikramyāpareṇāgniṃ prācīm udīcīṃ vā saṃveśyāthāsyai yonim abhimṛśati abhi tvā pañcaśākhena śivenāvidviṣāvatā sāhasreṇa yaśasvinā hastenābhimṛśāmasi suprajāstvāya iti athainām upayacchate saṃ nāmnaḥ saṃ hṛdayāni saṃ nābhiḥ saṃ tvacaḥ saṃ tvā kāmasya yoktreṇa yuñjāny avimocanāya iti athaināṃ pariṣvajate māmanuvratā bhava sahacaryā mayā bhava yā te patighnī tanūrjāraghnīṃ tvetāṃ karomi śivā tvaṃ mahyamedhi kṣurapavir jārebhyaḥ iti athāsyai mukhena mukhamīpsate madhu he madhvidaṃ madhu jihvā me madhuvādinī mukhe me sāraghaṃ madhu datsu saṃvananaṃ kṛtaṃ cākravākaṃ saṃvananaṃ yannadībhya udāhṛtam yadyukto devagandharvastena saṃvaninau svake iti trirātraṃ malavadvāsasā brāhmaṇavyākhyātāni vratāni carati caturthyāṃ snātāṃ prayatavastrām alaṃkṛtāṃ brāhmaṇasaṃbhāṣām ācamyopahvayate viṣṇuryoniṃ kalpayatu tvaṣṭā rūpāṇi piṃśatu āsiñcatu prajāpatir dhātā garbhaṃ dadhātu te garbhaṃ dhehi sinīvāli garbhaṃ dhehi sarasvati garbhaṃ te aśvināvubhāvādhattāṃ puṣkarasrajau hiraṇyayī araṇī yaṃ nirmanthato aśvinā taṃ te garbhaṃ havāmahe daśamāsyāya sūtavai yathāgnigarbhā pṛthivī dyauryathendreṇa garbhiṇī vāyuryathā diśāṃ garbha evaṃ garbhaṃ dadhāmi te yasya yoniṃ prati reto gṛhāṇa pumānputro jāyatāṃ garbho antaḥ taṃ mātā daśa māso bibhartu sa jāyatāṃ vīratamaḥ svānām ā te garbho yonimetu pumānbāṇa iveṣudhim ā vīro atra jāyatāṃ putraste daśamāsyaḥ karomi te prājāpatyam ā garbho yonimetu te anūnaḥ pūrṇo jāyatām anandho 'śloṇo 'piśācadhīraḥ yāni prabhūṇi vīryāṇyṛṣabhā janayantu naḥ taistvaṃ garbhiṇī bhava sa jāyatāṃ vīratamaḥ svānām yo vaśāyāṃ garbho yaśca vehatīndrastaṃ nidadhe vanaspatau tena tvaṃ garbhiṇī bhava sā prasūr dhenugā bhava saṃ nāmnaḥ cākravākam iti ca bhūḥ prajāpatinātyṛṣabheṇa skandayāmi vīraṃ dhatsvāsau bhuvaḥ prajāpatinātyṛṣabheṇa skandayāmi vīraṃ dhatsvāsau suvaḥ prajāpatinātyṛṣabheṇa skandayāmi vīraṃ dhatsvāsau iti vīraṃ haiva janayati sarvāṇyupagamanāni mantravanti bhavantītyātreyaḥ yaccādau yaccartāv iti bādarāyaṇaḥ pāṇigrahaṇādir agnis tam aupāsanam ity ācakṣate tasmingṛhyāṇi karmāṇi kriyante tasyaupāsanenāhitāgnitvaṃ tathā pārvaṇena caruṇā darśapūrṇamāsayājitvaṃ ceti dvādaśāhaṃ vicchinnaḥ punarādheyaḥ pratisaṃkhyāya vā sarvānhomāñjuhuyāt pariśrita uddhate 'vokṣite sikatopopte udumbaraśākhābhiḥ plakṣaśākhābhir vā pracchādya yathālābhaṃ tūṣṇīṃ saṃbhārānsaṃbhṛtya yājñikāt kāṣṭhād agniṃ mathitvā laukikaṃ vāhṛtya sate kṛtvā prajvalayitvābhyādadhāti bhūr bhuvaḥ suvar oṃ pratiṣṭha iti athainam agnim upasamādhāya vyāhṛtiparyantaṃ kṛtvā dve mindāhutī juhoti yanma ātmano mindābhūt punaragniś cakṣur adād iti tisras tantumatīr juhoti tantuṃ tanvan udbudhyasvāgne trayastriṃśat tantavaḥ iti catasro 'bhyāvartinīr juhoti agne 'bhyāvartin agne aṅgiraḥ punarūrjā saha rayyā iti ekaikaśo vyāhṛtīḥ samastāśca hutvā ayāś cāgne 'sy anabhiśastīśca satyamittvamayā asi ayasā manasā dhṛto 'yasā havyam ūhiṣeyā no dhehi bheṣajaṃ svāhā ityetāṃ manasvatīm prājāpatyāṃ saptavatīṃ ca hutvā daśahotāraṃ manasānudrutya sagrahaṃ hutvā imaṃ me varuṇa tattvā yāmi tvaṃ no agne sa tvaṃ no agne tvamagne ayāmi prajāpate yad asya karmaṇo 'tyarīricam iti cātraike jayābhyātānān rāṣṭrabhṛta ityupajuhvati yathā purastāt brāhmaṇānannena pariviṣya puṇyāhaṃ svastyayanam ṛddhim iti vācayitvā prasiddham āgneyena sthālīpākena yajate atra gurave varaṃ dadāti vāsasī dhenum anaḍvāhaṃ vā yadi prayāyād vyākhyātam ātmannaraṇyor vā samāropaṇam samidhi vā samāropayet araṇīkalpena khādiraḥ pālāśa audumbara āśvatthaśca atraikatarasmin yatrāvasyet tasmiñchrotriyāgārād agnim āhṛtya ājuhvānaḥ udbudhyasva iti dvābhyāṃ yasyāṃ samārūḍhas tām ādadhāti vyākhyāto homakalpaḥ yadi pārvaṇo vicchidyeta tasmin pāthikṛtena yājayet yadi dvau vaiśvānarapāthikṛtau yadi bahūnpunarādheyaḥ yadi nāśe vināśe vānyair agnibhir agnau saṃsṛṣṭe vā punarādheyaḥ śālāṃ kārayiṣyann udagayana āpūryamāṇapakṣe rohiṇyāṃ triṣu cottareṣvagnim upasamādhāya vyāhṛtiparyantaṃ kṛtvā juhoti imaṃ me varuṇa tattvā yāmi tvaṃ no agne sa tvaṃ no agne tvamagne ayāmi prajāpate yadasya karmaṇo 'tyarīricam iti cātraike jayābhyātānān rāṣṭrabhṛta ityupajuhvati yathā purastāt brāhmaṇān annena pariviṣya puṇyāhaṃ svastyayanam ṛddhimiti vācayitvāhataṃ vāsaḥ paridhāyāpa upaspṛśya devasya tvā ityabhrimādāya parilikhitam iti triḥ pradakṣiṇaṃ parilikhya yathārtham avaṭān khātvābhyantaraṃ pāṃsūn karoti ihaiva dhruvāṃ niminomi śālāṃ kṣeme tiṣṭhati ghṛtamukṣamāṇā tāṃ tvā śāle suvīrāḥ sarvavīrā ariṣṭavīrā anusaṃcarema iti dakṣiṇāṃ dvārasthūṇām ucchrayati ihaiva dhruvā pratitiṣṭha śāle aśvāvatī gomatī sūnṛtāvatī ūrjasvatī payasā pinvamānocchrayasva mahate saubhagāya ityuttarām ā tvā kumārastaruṇa ā vatso jagatā saha ā tvā hiraṇmayaḥ kumbha ā dadhnaḥ kalaśairayanniva iti saṃmitāvabhimṛśati evameva sthūṇārājāvucchrayati evamabhimṛśati ṛtena sthūṇāvadhiroha vaṃśordhvo virājannapasedha śatrūn athāsmabhyaṃ sahavīrāṃ rayiṃ dāḥ iti pṛṣṭhavaṃśamāropayate mā naḥ sapatnaḥ śaraṇaḥ syonā devo devebhir vimitāsyagre tṛṇaṃ vasānāḥ sumanā asi tvaṃ śaṃ na edhi dvipade śaṃ catuṣpade iti channām abhimṛśati tato 'nūrādhair vāstuśamanam niśāyām antarāgāre 'gnim upasamādhāya vyāhṛtiparyantaṃ kṛtvā juhoti vāstoṣpate vāstoṣpata iti dve vāstoṣpate prataraṇo na edhi gayasphāno gobhir aśvebhir indo ajarāsas te sakhye syāma piteva putrān prati no juṣasva svāhā apaitu mṛtyur amṛtaṃ na āgan vaivasvato no abhayaṃ kṛṇotu parṇaṃ vanaspater ivābhi naḥ śīyatāṃ rayiḥ sacatāṃ naḥ śacīpatiḥ svāhā paraṃ mṛtyo anuparehi panthāṃ yaste sva itaro devayānāt vāstoṣpate śṛṇvate te bravīmi mā naḥ prajāṃ rīriṣo mota vīrān svāhā idam ū nu śreyo vasānam āganma yad gojid dhanajid aśvajid yat parṇaṃ vanaspater ivābhi naḥ śīyatāṃ rayiḥ sacatāṃ naḥ śacīpatiḥ svāhā imaṃ me varuṇa tattvā yāmi tvaṃ no agne sa tvaṃ no agne tvamagne ayāmi prajāpate yad asya karmaṇo 'tyarīricam iti cātraike jayābhyātānān rāṣṭrabhṛta ityupajuhvati yathā purastāt brāhmaṇānannena pariviṣya puṇyāhaṃ svastyayanam ṛddhimiti vācayitvā evaṃ vihitaṃ saṃvatsare saṃvatsare vāstuśamanam ṛtāvṛtāvityeke gṛhā mā bibhīta mā vepiḍhvam ūrjaṃ bibhrata emasi ūrjaṃ bibhrad vasuvaniḥ sumedhā gṛhānemi manasā modamānaḥ yeṣāmadhyeti pravasanneti saumanaso babhuḥ gṛhān upahvayāmahe te no jānantu jānataḥ upahūtā iha gāva upahūtā ajāvayaḥ atho annasya kīlāla upahūto gṛheṣu naḥ upahūtā bhūrisakhāḥ sakhāyaḥ svādusaṃmudaḥ ariṣṭāḥ sarvapūruṣā gṛhā naḥ santu sarvadā ūrjasvantaḥ payasvanta irāvanto hasāmudaḥ anaśyā atṛṣyā gṛhā māsmad bibhītana iti gṛhānabhyeti kṣemāya vaḥ śāntyai prapadye śivaṃ śagmaṃ śaṃ yoḥ śaṃ yoḥ iti praviśati na tadaharāgataḥ kalahaṃ karoti gṛhānahaṃ sumanasaḥ prapadye avīraghno vīratamaḥ suśevān irāṃ vahantaḥ sumanasyamānās teṣvahaṃ sumanāḥ saṃviśāmi iti saṃviśati viśvā uta tvayā vayaṃ dhārā udanyā ivātigāhemahi dviṣaḥ iti bhāryāṃ samīkṣate samīkṣate atha atas sīmantonnayanam prathama garbhāyāḥ caturthe māsi āpūryamāṇapakṣe puṇye nakṣatre agnim upasamādhāya vyāhṛti paryantam kṛtvā dhātā dadātu naḥ rayim iti catasraḥ dhātrīḥ juhoti imam me varuṇa tat tvā yāmi tvam naḥ agne sa tvam naḥ agne tvam agne ayāsi prajāpate yat asya karmaṇaḥ atyarīricam iti ca atra eke jaya abhyātānān rāṣṭrabhṛtaḥ iti upajuhvati yathā purastāt brāhmaṇān annena pariviṣya puṇya aham svastyayanam ṛddhim iti vācayitvā snātām prayata vastrām alaṃkṛtām brāhmaṇa saṃbhāṣām apareṇa agnim maṇḍala āgāre prācīm upaveśya treṇyā śalalyā śalālu grapsam upasaṃgṛhya purastāt pratyaṅ tiṣṭhan vyāhṛtībhiḥ rākām aham yāḥ te rāke iti dvābhyām ūrdhvam sīmantam unnīya abhimantrayate somaḥ eva naḥ rājā iti āhuḥ brāhmaṇīḥ prajāḥ vivṛtta cakrāḥ āsīnāḥ tīre tubhyam gaṅge viśvāḥ uta tvayā vayam dhārāḥ udanyāḥ iva atigāhemahi svastyayanam ṛddhim iti vācayitvā snātām prayata vastrām alaṃkṛtām brāhmaṇa saṃbhāṣām apareṇa agnim maṇḍala āgāre prācīm upaveśya vṛṣā asi iti tasyāḥ dakṣiṇe pāṇau yavam ādadhāti āṇḍau sthaḥ iti abhitas yavam sarṣapau dhānya māṣau vā iti dadhi drapsam tat enām prāśayati ācāntāyāḥ udaram abhimṛśati ābhiḥ tvā aham daśabhiḥ abhimṛśāmi daśa māsyāya sūtavai iti nyagrodha śṛṅgam vā ghṛtena kośakārīm vā praiyaṅgaveṇa saṃyāvena yūpa śakalam vā uttarapūrvasya abhiṣṭeḥ agnim vā nirmanthya mūru mūla upadhānāyai dakṣiṇe nāsikā chidre praṇayet yadi garbhaḥ sravet ārdreṇa asyāḥ pāṇinā tris ūrdhvam nābheḥ unmārṣṭi parāñcam tvā na arvāñcam tvaṣṭā badhnātu bandhane saḥ ṛtūn upaveśya daśa māsaḥ a vīra hā iti vijanana kāle kṣipra prasavanam śirastaḥ uda kumbham nidhāya pattas tūryantīm atha asyāḥ udaram abhimṛśati yathā eva vāyuḥ pavate yathā samudraḥ ejati evam te garbhaḥ ejatu saha jarāyuṇā avasarpatu iti avāṅ avamārṣṭi jāte aśmani paraśum nidhāya upariṣṭāt hiraṇyam teṣu uttara adhareṣu upariṣṭāt kumāram dhārayati aśmā bhava paraśuḥ bhava hiraṇyam a stṛtam bhava vedaḥ vai putra nāmā asi jīva tvam śaradaḥ śatam aṅgāt aṅgāt sambhavasi hṛdayāt adhijāyase ātmā vai putra nāmā asi sa jīva śaradaḥ śatam iti yadi aparā na patet añjalinā udakam ādāya mūrdhānam asya avasiñcet tiladā iva padyasva na māṃsam asi na u dalam avapadyasva sva pathāt iti upanirharanti aupāsanam atiharanti sūtikāgnim saḥ eṣaḥ uttapanīyaḥ eva na asmin kiṃcana karma kriyate anyatra uddhūpanāt atha enam kaṇaiḥ sarṣapa miśraiḥ uddhūpayati śaṇḍaḥ markaḥ upavīraḥ śāṇḍīkeraḥ ulūkhalaḥ cyavanaḥ naśyatād itas svāhā ālikhan vilikhan animiṣan kiṃvadantaḥ upaśrutiḥ svāhā aryamṇaḥ kumbhī śatruḥ pātrapāṇiḥ nipuṇiḥ svāhā āntrīmukhaḥ sarṣapāruṇaḥ naśyatād itas svāhā keśinī śvalominī bajābojā upakāśinī apeta naśyatād itas svāhā kauberakāḥ viśvavāsaḥ rakṣaḥ rājena preṣitāḥ grāmān sajātayaḥ yanti īpsantaḥ parijākṛtān svāhā etān hata etān badhnīta iti ayam brahmaṇaḥ dūtaḥ tān agniḥ paryasarat tān indraḥ tān bṛhaspatiḥ tān aham veda brāhmaṇaḥ pramṛśataḥ kūṭa dantān vikeśān lamba stanān svāhā naktaṃcāriṇaḥ uraspeśān śūla hastān kapāla pān svāhā pūrvaḥ eṣām pitā iti uccaiḥśrāvyakarṇakaḥ mātā jaghanyā gacchanti grāme vikhuram icchantī svāhā naktaṃcāriṇī svasā sandhinā prekṣate kulam yā svapatsu jāgarti yasyai vijātāyām manaḥ svāhā tāsām tvam kṛṣṇavartmane klomānam hṛdayam yakṛt agne akṣīṇi nirdaha svāhā iti pratimantram aṅgāreṣu āvapati tatas pāṇī prakṣālya bhūmim ālabhate yat te su sīme hṛdayam divi candramasi śritam tasya amṛta tvasya naḥ dhehi mā aham pautram agham rudam veda te bhūmi hṛdayam divi candramasi śritam tathā amṛta tvasya īśānaḥ mā aham pautram agham rudam iti atha atas medhājananam darbheṇa hiraṇyam prabadhya tat antardhāya upariṣṭāt prāñcam kumāram dhāryamāṇam ghṛtam prāśayati bhūḥ ṛcaḥ tvayi juhomi svāhā bhuvaḥ yajūṃṣi tvayi juhomi svāhā suvar sāmāni tvayi juhomi svāhā bhūḥ bhuvaḥ suvar atharva aṅgirasaḥ tvayi juhomi svāhā iti atha enam uṣṇa śītābhiḥ adbhiḥ snāpayati kṣetriyai tvā nirṛtyai tvā druhaḥ muñcāmi varuṇasya pāśāt anāgasam brahmaṇe tvā karomi śive te dyāvāpṛthivī ubhe ime śam te agniḥ saha adbhiḥ astu śam dyāvāpṛthivī saha oṣadhībhiḥ śam antarikṣam saha vātena te śam te catasraḥ pradiśaḥ bhavantu sūryam ṛtam tamasaḥ grāhyāḥ yat devāḥ amuñcan asṛjan vi enasaḥ evam aham imam kṣetriyāt jāmiśaṃsāt druhaḥ muñcāmi varuṇasya pāśāt iti atha enam mātuḥ upasthe ādadhāti yā daivīścatasraḥ pradiśo vātapatnīrabhi sūryo vicaṣṭe tāsāṃ tvā jarasa ādadhāmi pra yakṣma etu nirṛtiṃ parācaiḥ iti ādhāyābhimantrayate mā te putraṃ rakṣo hiṃsīnmā dhenuratisāriṇī priyā dhanasya bhūyā edhamānā sve vaśa iti prakṣālya dakṣiṇaṃ stanamādhāpayati ayaṃ kumāro jarāṃ dhayatu sarvamāyuretu tasmai stanaṃ prapyāyasvāyuḥ kīrtirvarco yaśo balam iti evamuttaram nāmayati na rudati yatra vayaṃ vadāmo yatra vābhimṛśāmasītyubhāvabhimṛśyāthāsyai śirasta udakumbhamapihitaṃ nidadhāti āpo gṛheṣu jāgrata yathā deveṣu jāgratha evamasyai suputrāyai jāgrata iti dvādaśyāṃ mātāputrau snātaḥ śucyagāraṃ kurvanti upanirharanti sūtikāgnim atiharantyaupāsanam tamagnimupasamādhāya vyāhṛtiparyantaṃ kṛtvā dhātā dadātu no rayim iti dvādaśāhutīrjuhoti trayodaśetyekeṣām imaṃ me varuṇa tattvā yāmi tvaṃ no agne sa tvaṃ no agne tvamagne ayāsi prajāpate yadasya karmaṇo 'tyarīricam iti cātraike jayābhyātānānrāṣṭrabhṛta ityupajuhvati yathā purastāt brāhmaṇānannena pariviṣya puṇyāhaṃ svastyayanamṛddhimiti vācayitvā putrasya nāma dadhyāddvyakṣaraṃ caturakṣaraṃ vā ghoṣavadādyantarantasthaṃ dīrghābhiniṣṭhānāntaṃ yatra vā svityupasargaḥ syāt taddhi pratiṣṭhitamiti vijñāyate pitā mātety agre 'bhivyāhareyātām vijñāyate ca mama nāma prathamaṃ jātaveda iti dve nāmanī kuryāt vijñāyate ca tasmāddvināmā brāhmaṇo 'rdhuka iti nakṣatranāma dvitīyaṃ syād anyatarad guhyaṃ syāt anyatareṇainam āmantrayīran somayājī tṛtīyaṃ nāma kurvīteti vijñāyate pravāsādetyāgataṃ vā putramabhimṛśati somasya tvā dyumnenābhimṛśāmyagnestejasā sūryasya varcasā iti paśūnāṃ tvā huṃkāreṇābhijighrāmyasāvāyuṣe varcase hum iti mūrdhnyabhijighrya athāsya dakṣiṇena hastena dakṣiṇaṃ hastaṃ sāṅguṣṭhaṃ gṛhṇāti agnirāyuṣmān iti pañcabhiḥ paryāyaiḥ āyuṣṭe viśvato dadhad iti dakṣiṇe karṇe japati yathā purastāt atha ṣaṣṭhe māsyannaprāśanam āpūryamāṇapakṣe puṇye nakṣatre 'gnim upasamādhāya vyāhṛtiparyantaṃ kṛtvā juhotīmaṃ me varuṇa tattvā yāmi tvaṃ no agne sa tvaṃ no agne tvamagne ayāsi prajāpate yadasya karmaṇo 'tyarīricam iti ca atraike jayābhyātānān rāṣṭrabhṛta ityupajuhvati yathā purastāt brāhmaṇānannena pariviṣya puṇyāhaṃ svastyayanamṛddhimiti vācayitvāthainaṃ dadhi madhu bhavantu iti tṛtīye varṣe cūḍākarma āpūryamāṇapakṣe puṇye nakṣatre 'gnim upasamādhāya vyāhṛtiparyantaṃ kṛtvā juhotīmaṃ me varuṇa tattvā yāmi tvaṃ no agne sa tvaṃ no agne tvamagne ayāsi prajāpate yadasya karmaṇo 'tyarīricam iti ca atraike jayābhyātānānrāṣṭrabhṛta ityupajuhvati yathā purastāt brāhmaṇānannena pariviṣya puṇyāhaṃ svastyayanamṛddhimiti vācayitvāpareṇāgniṃ prāṅmukhaḥ kumāra upaviśati uttarato mātā brahmacārī vānaḍuhaṃ śakṛtpiṇḍaṃ dhārayati tenāsya keśānpratigṛhṇāti athoṣṇaśītā āpaḥ saṃsṛjati śītāsūṣṇā ānīya āpa undantu jīvasa iti dakṣiṇaṃ godānamunatti oṣadhe trāyasvainam ityūrdhvāgrāmoṣadhimantardadhāti svadhite mainaṃ hiṃsīḥ iti kṣureṇābhinidadhāti devaśrūr etāni pravapa iti pravapati evamitarānpradakṣiṇam yenāvapatsavitā kṣureṇa somasya rājño varuṇasya vidvān tena brahmāṇo vapatedamasya ūrjemaṃ rayyā varcasā saṃsṛjātha iti paścāt yena pūṣā bṛhaspateragnerindrasya cāyuṣe 'vapat tena te 'haṃ vapāmyasāv ityuttarataḥ yathā jyoksumanā asat jyokca sūryaṃ dṛśa iti purastāt uptvā yathocitaṃ cūḍāḥ kārayati yatharṣi vā saṃyamya keśān yatra pūṣā bṛhaspatiḥ savitā somo agniḥ tebhyo nidhānaṃ bahudhā vyaicchannantarā dyāvāpṛthavī apaḥ suvaḥ iti goṣṭha udumbare darbhastambe vā nikhanati yo 'sya rātirbhavati yathāśraddhaṃ brāhmaṇāya dadāti sarpiṣmantamodanaṃ nāpitāya evaṃ vihitaṃ ṣoḍaśe varṣe godānakarma saśikhaṃ vāpayate śikhām atrāvaśinaṣṭītyekeṣām agnigodāno vā bhavati gurave gāṃ dadāti athātaḥ śvagrahaprāyaścittam samupasṛte yajñopavīty ācānto 'nāprītena śarāveṇodakam āhṛtya sabhāyāṃ madhye 'dhidevanam uddhatyāvokṣyākṣān nyupya vyūhya samūhya prathayitvopariṣṭāt sabhāyāṃ vyūhya tṛṇāni tena kumāram abhyāhṛtyākṣeṣūttānaṃ nipātya dadhnā lavaṇodakamiśreṇābhyukṣati āghnanti kaṃsaṃ dakṣiṇataḥ kurkuraḥ sukurkuraḥ kurkuro nīlabandhanaḥ aulava ittamupāhvayatārjima chambalaḥ athorāma ulumbaraḥ sārameyo ha dhāvati samudram iva cākaśad bibhranniṣkaṃ ca rukmaṃ ca śunām agraṃ suvīriṇaḥ suvīriṇaḥ sṛja sṛja ekavrātya sṛja śunaka sṛja chat ṭekaś ca sasaramaṭaṅkaś ca tūlaś ca vitūlaś cārjunaś ca lohitaś ca utsṛja tvaṃ śitimra tvaṃ piśaṃka rohitaḥ amī ye ke sarasyakā avadhāvati tṛtīyasyām ito divi chad apehi sīsarama sārameya namas te astu sīsara dūtyā ha nāma vo mātā maṇḍākako ha vaḥ pitā chad apehi sīsarama sārameya namas te astu sīsara dulā ha nāma vo mātā maṇḍākako ha vaḥ pitā chad apehi sīsarama sārameya namas te astu sīsara sam aśvā vṛṣaṇaḥ pado na sīsaridataḥ chad apehi sīsarama sārameya namas te astu sīsara saṃ takṣā hanti cakriṇo na sīsaridataḥ chad apehi sīsarama sārameya namas te astu sīsara iti athāha varaṃ vṛṇīṣva iti kumāram evāhaṃ varaṃ vṛṇa iti evaṃ samupasṛte trir anhaḥ prātarmadhyaṃdine sāyaṃ ca kuryād yadi cāgataḥ syāt athātaḥ śūlagavam āpūryamāṇapakṣe puṇye nakṣatre 'gnimupasamādhāya saṃparistīrya payasi sthālīpākaṃ śrapayitvābhighāryodvāsyāpareṇāgniṃ dve kuṭī kṛtvā dakṣiṇasyāṃ śūlagavamāvāhayati ā tvā vahantu harayaḥ sacetasaḥ śvetairaśvaiḥ saha ketumadbhiḥ vātājirair balavadbhir manojavair āyāhi śīghraṃ mama havyāya śarvom iti uttarasyāṃ mīḍhuṣīm madhye jayantam yathoḍham udakāni pradāyopastīrṇābhighāritāṃstrīnodanānkalpayitvā yathoḍham evopasparśayati upaspṛśatu mīḍhvān mīḍhuṣe svāhā juhoti jayantāya svāhā jayantāya svāheti atha sarvebhya odanebhyaḥ samavadāya sauviṣṭakṛtīṃ juhoti agnaye sviṣṭakṛte svāheti abhita etamagniṃ gā sthāpayanti yathā hūyamānasya gandhamājighreyuḥ svasti naḥ pūrṇamukhaṃ parikrāmantu iti sarvataḥ pradakṣiṇaṃ parikramya namaste rudra manyava ityetairanuvākairupatiṣṭhate prathamottamābhyāṃ vā athāto bauḍhyavihāra eva gṛhapopaspṛśa gṛhapāya svāhā gṛhapyupaspṛśa gṛhapyai svāhā dvārapopaspṛśa dvārapāya svāhā dvārapyupaspṛśa dvārapyai svāheti catvāri palāśāni dadāti ghoṣiṇa upaspṛśata ghoṣibhyaḥ svāhā niṣaṅgiṇa upaspṛśata niṣaṅgibhyaḥ svāhā anvāsāriṇa upaspṛśatānvāsāribhyaḥ svāhā prayunvanta upaspṛśata prayunvadbhyaḥ svāhā vicinvanta upaspṛśata vicinvadbhyaḥ svāhā samaśnanta upaspṛśata samaśnadbhyaḥ svāheti daśāthāparāṇi devasenā upaspṛśata devasenābhyaḥ svāheti daśaivāthāparāṇi yā ākhyātā devasenā yāścānākhyātā upaspṛśata tābhyaḥ svāheti atha parṇapuṭaṃ kṛtvā tasminnupastīrṇābhighāritamodanapiṇḍam avadāya paro gavyūtiṃ gatvā vṛkṣa āsajati niṣaṅgiṇa upaspṛśata niṣaṅgibhyaḥ svāheti athopatiṣṭhate namo niṣaṅgiṇa iṣudhimate taskarāṇāṃ pataya iti atha cāndanasurodakākṣatākṣatagomayadūrvāstambodumbarapalāśaśamīvaikaṅkatāśvatthena govāleneti gāḥ prokṣati vṛṣāṇamevāgre śivo bhava śivo bhava ityatha śivo haiva bhavati athainaṃ kṣaitrapatyaṃ payasi sthālīpākaṃ śrapayitvābhighāryodvāsya gavāṃ mārge 'nagnau kṣetrasya patiṃ yajati caturṣu saptasu vā palāśeṣu taṃ tathaivāvāhayati yathā śūlagavam nūrte yajate pāko devaḥ athopatiṣṭhate kṣetrasya patinā vayaṃ kṣetrasya pata iti athaitasya kṣaitrapatyasya ye sanābhayo bhavanti te prāśnanti yathaivaiṣāṃ kuladharmo bhavati amāvāsyāyāmaparāhṇe māsikamaparapakṣasya vāyukṣvahaḥsu pitṛbhyo 'nnaṃ saṃskṛtya dakṣiṇāgrāndarbhānāsanāni kalpayitvā brāhmaṇāñchucīnmantravataḥ samaṅgānayuja āmantrayate yonigotramantrāsaṃbandhān nārthāpekṣo bhojayet agnimupasamādhāya dakṣiṇāprāgagrair darbhaiḥ paristīryaikapavitrāntarhitāyām ājyasthālyāmājyaṃ saṃskṛtya prasavyaṃ pariṣicyaudumbaramidhmamabhyādhāyaudumbaryā darvyā juhoti ājyabhāgāntaṃ kṛtvā prācīnāvītī pitṝn āvāhayati āyāta pitaraḥ somyā gambhīraiḥ pathibhiḥ pūrvyaiḥ prajāmasmabhyaṃ dadato rayiṃ ca dīrghāyutvaṃ ca śataśāradaṃ ca iti etāmeva diśam abhy apaḥ prasiñcati āpo devīḥ prahiṇutāgnim etaṃ yajñaṃ pitaro no juṣantāṃ māsīmāmūrjamuta ye bhajante te no rayiṃ sarvavīraṃ niyacchantu iti yajñopavītī vyāhṛtiparyantaṃ kṛtvā prācīnāvītī juhoti somāya pitṛmate svadhā namaḥ yamāyāṅgirasvate pitṛmate svadhā namaḥ yāḥ prācīḥ sambhavanty āpa uttarataśca yā adbhirviśvasya bhuvanasya dhartrībhirantaranyaṃ pitur dadhe svadhā namaḥ antardadhe parvatairantarmahyā pṛthivyā divā digbhir anantābhir ūtibhir antaranyaṃ pitāmahāddadhe svadhā namaḥ antardadha ṛtubhir ahorātraiḥ susandhibhir ardhamāsaiśca māsaiścāntaranyaṃ prapitāmahāddadhe svadhā namaḥ iti atha nāmadheyairjuhoti amuṣmai svadhā namaḥ amuṣmai svadhā namaḥ iti yanme mātā pralulobha caratyananuvratā tanme retaḥ pitā vṛṅktām ābhur anyo 'papadyatāṃ svadhā namaḥ iti evaṃ dvitīyāṃ tathā tṛtīyām yanme pitāmahī yanme prapitāmahī iti mantraṃ saṃnamati ye ceha pitaro ye ca neha yāṃśca vidma yāṁ u ca na pravidmāgne tānvettha yadi te jātavedastayā prattaṃ svadhayā madantu svadhā namaḥ yadvaḥ kravyād aṅgam adahallokān ayaṃ praṇayañjātavedāḥ tad vo 'haṃ punarāveśayāmyariṣṭāḥ sarvairaṅgaiḥ saṃbhavata pitaraḥ svadhā namaḥ vahājyaṃ jātavedaḥ pitṛbhyo yatraitānvettha nihitānparāke ājyasya kūlyā upa tānkṣarantu satyā eṣāmāśiṣaḥ santu kāmaiḥ svadhā namaḥ iti evaṃ dvitīyāṃ tathā tṛtīyāṃ pitāmahebhyaḥ prapitāmahebhyaḥ iti mantraṃ saṃnamati evamannasya juhoti vahānnam iti mantraṃ saṃnamati atha sauviṣṭakṛtīṃ juhoti agnaye kavyavāhanāya sviṣṭakṛte svadhā namaḥ iti athānnamabhimṛśati pṛthivī te pātraṃ dyaurapidhānaṃ brahmaṇastvā mukhe juhomi brāhmaṇānāṃ tvā prāṇāpānayorjuhomi akṣitamasi mā pitṝṇāṃ kṣeṣṭhā amutrāmuṣmiṃlloke pṛthivī samā tasyāgnirupadraṣṭā dattasyāpramādāya pṛthivī te pātraṃ dyaurapidhānaṃ brahmaṇastvā mukhe juhomi brāhmaṇānāṃ tvā prāṇāpānayor juhomi akṣitamasi mā pitāmahānāṃ kṣeṣṭhā amutrāmuṣmiṃlloke antarikṣaṃ samaṃ tasya vāyurupadraṣṭā dattasyāpramādāya pṛthivī te pātraṃ dyaurapidhānaṃ brahmaṇastvā mukhe juhomi brāhmaṇānāṃ tvā prāṇāpānayorjuhomi akṣitamasi mā prapitāmahānāṃ kṣeṣṭhā amutrāmuṣmiṃlloke dyauḥ samā tasyāditya upadraṣṭā dattasyāpramādāya iti brāhmaṇānupasparśayati prāṇe niviśyāmṛtaṃ juhomi iti bhuñjānān samīkṣate brahmaṇi ma ātmāmṛtatvāya iti bhuktavato 'nupravrajya śeṣamanujñāpyodakumbhaṃ darbhamuṣṭiṃ cādāya dakṣiṇapūrvamavāntaradeśaṃ gatvā dakṣiṇāgrāndarbhānsaṃstīrya teṣvavācīnapāṇir dakṣiṇāpavargāṃstrīn udakāñjalīn ninayati mārjayantāṃ pitaraḥ somyāsaḥ mārjayantāṃ pitāmahāḥ somyāsaḥ mārjayantāṃ prapitāmahāḥ somyāsaḥ iti asāv avaneniṅkṣvāsāv avaneniṅkṣva iti vā teṣvavācīnapāṇirdakṣiṇāpavargānpiṇḍāndadāti etatte tatāsāv iti pitre piṇḍaṃ dadāti etatte pitāmahāsāv iti pitāmahāya etatte prapitāmahāsāv iti prapitāmahāya tūṣṇīṃ caturthaṃ sa kṛtākṛtaḥ atha yadi nāmadheyāni na vindyāt svadhā pitṛbhyaḥ pṛthiviṣadbhyaḥ iti pitre piṇḍaṃ dadyāt svadhā pitṛbhyo 'ntarikṣasadbhyaḥ iti pitāmahāya svadhā pitṛbhyo diviṣadbhyaḥ iti prapitāmahāya atrāñjanābhyañjane vāsaścānu piṇḍaṃ dadāti āṅkṣvāsāvāṅkṣvāsāv iti trirāñjanam abhyaṅkṣvāsāv abhyaṅkṣvāsāv iti trirabhyañjanam etāni vaḥ pitaro vāsāṃsyato no 'nyat pitaro mā yūḍhvam iti daśām ūrṇāstukān vā chittvā nyasyati pūrve vayasi svaṃ loma chittvottare atha pātraṃ saṃkṣālya putrānpautrān abhitarpayantīr āpo madhumatīrimāḥ svadhāṃ pitṛbhyo amṛtaṃ duhānāḥ āpo devīr ubhayāṃstarpayantu nadīrimā udanvatīr vetasvinīḥ sutīrthyāḥ amuṣmiṃlloka upa vaḥ kṣarantu iti prasavyaṃ pariṣicya nyubjapātraṃ pāṇī vyatyasya dakṣiṇam uttaram uttaraṃ ca dakṣiṇam namo vaḥ pitaro rasāya iti namaskārairupatiṣṭhate tata udakāntaṃ gatvā trīnudakāñjalīnninayati eṣa te tata madhumāṁ ūrmiḥ sarasvān yāvānagniśca pṛthivī ca tāvatyasya mātrā tāvānasya mahimā tāvantamenaṃ bhūtaṃ dadāmi yathāgnir akṣito 'nupadasta evaṃ mahyaṃ pitre 'kṣito 'nupadastaḥ svadhā bhavatāṃ taṃ svadhām akṣitaṃ taiḥ sahopajīvāsāvṛcaste mahimā eṣa te pitāmaha madhumāṁ ūrmiḥ sarasvān yāvān vāyuś cāntarikṣaṃ ca tāvatyasya mātrā tāvān asya mahimā tāvantamenaṃ bhūtaṃ dadāmi yathā vāyurakṣito 'nupadasta evaṃ mahyaṃ pitāmahāyākṣito 'nupadastaḥ svadhā bhavatāṃ taṃ svadhām akṣitaṃ taiḥ sahopajīvāsau yajūṃṣi te mahimā eṣa te prapitāmaha madhumāṁ ūrmiḥ sarasvān yāvān ādityaśca dyauśca tāvatyasya mātrā tāvānasya mahimā tāvantamenaṃ bhūtaṃ dadāmi yathādityo 'kṣito 'nupadasta evaṃ mahyaṃ pūrvyaiḥ atha māsi punarāyāta no gṛhānhavirattuṃ suprajasaḥ suvīrāḥ iti etena mādhyāvarṣaṃ vyākhyātam tatra māṃsaṃ niyatam māṃsābhāve śākam aṣṭakāṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ māghyāḥ paurṇamāsyā yo 'parapakṣas tasyāṣṭamīm ekāṣṭaketyācakṣate tataḥ pūrvedyur anūrādheṣvaparāhṇe 'gnimupasamādhāya dakṣiṇāprāgagrair darbhaiḥ paristīryaikapavitrāntarhitāni catvāri vrīhiśarāvāṇi nirvapatīmamapūpaṃ catuḥśarāvaṃ nirvapāmi kleśāvahaṃ pitṝṇāṃ sāṃparāye devena savitrā prasūtaḥ devasya tvā savituḥ prasave 'śvinorbāhubhyāṃ pūṣṇo hastābhyāṃ pitṛbhyaḥ pitāmahebhyaḥ prapitāmahebhyo vo juṣṭaṃ nirvapāmīti etenaiva pavitreṇa tūṣṇīṃ prokṣaṇīḥ saṃskṛtya tūṣṇīṃ prokṣya tūṣṇīm avahatya yathāpuroḍāśamevaṃ caturṣu kapāleṣu tūṣṇīṃ śrapayitvābhighāryodvāsya prasavyaṃ pariṣicyaudumbaram idhmam abhyādhāyaudumbaryā darvyopastīrṇābhighāritaṃ dakṣiṇāprācīsaṃtataṃ paraṃ param avadāya dakṣiṇāprācīsaṃtataṃ paraṃ paraṃ juhoti ulūkhalā grāvāṇo ghoṣamakrata haviḥ kṛṇvantaḥ parivatsarīṇām ekāṣṭake suprajā vīravanto vayaṃ syāma patayo rayīṇāṃ svadhā namaḥ apūpaṃ deva ghṛtavantamagne svadhāvantaṃ pitṝṇāṃ tarpaṇāya yathātathaṃ vaha havyamagne putraḥ pitṛbhya āhutiṃ juhomi svadhā namaḥ ayaṃ catuḥśarāvo ghṛtavānapūpaḥ payasvānagne rayimānpuṣṭimāṃśca pratinandantu pitaraḥ saṃvidānāḥ sviṣṭo 'yaṃ suhuto mamāstu svadhā namaḥ iti athānnasya juhotīyameva sā yā prathamā vyaucchat ekāṣṭakā tapasā tapyamānā yā prathamā vyaucchad iti apūpasyānnasyeti samavadāya sarpirmiśrasya juhoti agnaye kavyavāhanāya sviṣṭakṛte svadhā namaḥ iti taṃ ghṛtavantaṃ madhumantamannavantaṃ śrāddhābhimarśanenābhimṛśya piṇḍānāmāvṛtā piṇḍāndadāti tena brāhmaṇānvidyāvataḥ pariveveṣṭi tebhyo yathāśraddhamannaṃ dhanaṃ ca dadāti prasiddham odakāñjalidānād yathā māsike śvobhūte pitṛbhyo gām ālabhate agnimupasamādhāya dakṣiṇāprāgagrairdarbhaiḥ paristīrya imāṃ pitṛbhyo gāmupākaromi tāṃ me sametāḥ pitaro juṣantāṃ medasvatīṃ ghṛtavatīṃ svadhāvatīṃ sā me pitṝn sāṃparāye dhinotu svadhā namaḥ ityupākaraṇīyāṃ hutvaikena barhiṣaikaśūlayā ca vapāśrapaṇyaudumbaryopākaroti pitṛbhyastvā juṣṭāmupākaromīti athaināṃ prokṣati pitṛbhyastvā juṣṭāṃ prokṣāmīti tāṃ prokṣitāṃ paryagnikṛtvā tāmapareṇāgniṃ pratyakśirasaṃ dakṣiṇāpadīṃ saṃjñapayanti saṃjñaptāyai tūṣṇīm adbhiḥ prāṇānāpyāyya tūṣṇīṃ vapāṃ hṛdayaṃ matasne uddharati audumbaryā vapāśrapaṇyā vapāṃ śrapayatyaudumbareṣu śūleṣu pṛthagitarāṇi śrapayitvābhighāryodvāsya prasavyaṃ pariṣicyaudumbaram idhmam abhyādhāyaudumbaryā darvyopastīrṇābhighāritāṃ vapāṃ juhoti vaha vapāṃ jātavedaḥ pitṛbhyo yatraitānvettha nihitānparāke medasaḥ kūlyā upa tānkṣarantu satyā eṣām āśiṣaḥ santu kāmaiḥ svadhā namaḥ iti sarvahutāṃ vapāṃ juhoti śeṣamutkṛṣya brāhmaṇānbhojayet upasthite 'nna odanasya māṃsānāmiti samavadāya sarpirmiśrasya juhoti ekāṣṭakāṃ paśyata dohamānām annaṃ māṃsavadghṛtavatsvadhāvat tadbrāhmaṇair atipūtam annaṃ tamakṣitaṃ tanme astu svadhā namaḥ ekāṣṭakā tapasā tapyamānā saṃvatsarasya patnī duduhe prapīnā taṃ doham upajīvātha pitaraḥ saṃvidānāḥ sviṣṭo 'yaṃ suhuto mamāstu svadhā namaḥ saṃvatsarasya pratimām iti hutvānnasya māṃsānāmiti samavadāya sarpirmiśrasya juhoti agnaye kavyavāhanāya sviṣṭakṛte svadhā namaḥ iti prasiddham odakāñjalidānād yathā māsike annadhanadāne tvatrāniyate śvobhūte māṃsaśeṣeṇa pitṛbhyo 'nnaṃ saṃskṛtya tvamagne ayāsi prajāpata iti juhoti prasiddham odakāñjalidānād yathā māsike athātaḥ śravaṇākarma tadyā paurṇamāsī śravaṇena yuñjyāt tasyām upariṣṭāt sāyamagnihotrasya dakṣiṇāgnim upasamādadhāty aupāsanam anāhitāgniḥ athopakalpayate 'kṣatadhānā akṣatalājān saktūn kiṃśukānyāñjanābhyañjane ājyamiti darvyām upastīryaiteṣām evānnānāṃ samavadāya sarpirmiśrasya juhoti namo 'gnaye pārthivāya pārthivānāmadhipataye svāhā namo vāyave vibhumata āntarikṣāṇām adhipataye svāhā namaḥ sūryāya rohitāya divyānāmadhipataye svāhā namo viṣṇave gaurāya diśyānāmadhipataye svāheti kiṃśukānyājyena saṃyujya juhoti jagdho maśako jagdhā vicaṣṭir jagdho vyadhvaraḥ jagdho vyadhvaro jagdhā vicaṣṭir jagdho maśakaḥ jagdhā vicaṣṭir jagdho maśako jagdho vyadhvaraḥ iti udakumbhaṃ darbhamuṣṭiṃ cādāya prāṅmukho niṣkramya prāco darbhān saṃstīrya teṣu caturo balīnharati ye pārthivāḥ sarpāstebhya imaṃ baliṃ harāmi ya āntarikṣāḥ ye divyaḥ ye diśyāḥ iti atrāñjanābhyañjane dattvopatiṣṭhate namo astu sarpebhyaḥ ityetairmantraiḥ udakumbhamādāya triḥ pradakṣiṇamāvasathaṃ pariṣiñcanparikrāmedyāvatā kāmayetaitāvatā me sarpā nāvakrāmeyuriti apa śveta padā jahi pūrveṇa cāpareṇa ca sapta ca mānuṣīr imāstisraśca rājabandhavaiḥ na vai śvetasyābhyācareṇāhir jaghāna kaṃcana śvetāya vaidarvāya namo namaḥ śvetāya vaidarvāya iti athopatiṣṭhate samīcī nāmāsi prācī dik ityetairmantraiḥ pratidiśam nityamata ūrdhvaṃ baliṃ haraty ā mārgaśīrṣyāḥ nātra kiṃśukahomaḥ na pariṣecanaṃ vidyate niravadāsyan niravadāsyan ityantato balīnharati āgrahāyaṇīṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ mārgaśīrṣyāṃ paurṇamāsyāmagnimupasamādhāya saṃparistīrya payasi sthālīpākaṃ śrapayitvābhighāryodvāsya vyāhṛtiparyantaṃ kṛtvā juhotīḍāyai sṛptaṃ ghṛtavaccarācaraṃ jātavedo haviridaṃ juṣasva ye grāmyāḥ paśavo viśvarūpāsteṣāṃ saptānāmiha rantirastu puṣṭiḥ svāhā yāṃ janāḥ pratinandanti rātriṃ dhenumivāyatīṃ saṃvatsarasya yā patnī sā no astu sumaṅgalī svāhā śivā paśubhyo dārebhyaḥ śivā naktaṃ śivā divā saṃvatsarasya yā patnī sā no astu sumaṅgalī svāhā paurṇamāsī pūrayanty āyānty aparāparān māsārdhamāsānvibhajati sā naḥ pūrṇābhirakṣatu svāheti atha sauviṣṭakṛtīṃ juhoti sviṣṭamagne abhi tatpṛṇāhi viśvā deva pṛtanā abhiṣya uruṃ naḥ panthāṃ pradiśanvibhāhi jyotiṣmaddhehyajaraṃ na āyuḥ iti tataḥ pāṇī prakṣālya bhūmimālabhate prati kṣatre pratitiṣṭhāmi rāṣṭre pratyaśveṣu pratitiṣṭhāmi goṣu pratyaṅgeṣu pratitiṣṭhāmyātman prati prāṇeṣu pratitiṣṭhāmi puṣṭe prati dyāvāpṛthivyoḥ pratitiṣṭhāmi yajñe trayā devā ekādaśa trayastriṃśāḥ surādhasaḥ bṛhaspatipurohitā devasya savituḥ save devā devairavantu mā iti teṣāṃ dakṣiṇā gṛhapatirupaviśati uttarā uttare prajotpattyānupūrvyeṇa teṣāṃ ye mantravidaste mantrāñjapanti syonā pṛthivi bhavānṛkṣarā niveśanī yacchā naḥ śarma saprathāḥ baḍitthā parvatānām iti dvābhyāṃ dakṣiṇaiḥ pārśvaiḥ saṃviśanti udāyuṣā ityuttiṣṭhanti udasthāmāmṛtā abhūma ityutthāya japanti evaṃ rātrestriḥ saṃjihate brāhmaṇānannena pariviṣya puṇyāhaṃ svastyayanamṛddhimiti vācayitvāthaitāṃ rātriṃ vasanti athāta upākaraṇotsarjane vyākhyāsyāmaḥ śravaṇāpakṣa oṣadhīṣu jātāsu hastena paurṇamāsyāṃ vādhyāyopākarma agnimupasamādhāya vyāhṛtiparyantaṃ kṛtvā kāṇḍarṣīñjuhoti prajāpataye kāṇḍarṣaye svāhā somāya kāṇḍarṣaye svāhā agnaye kāṇḍarṣaye svāhā viśvebhyo devebhyaḥ kāṇḍarṣibhyaḥ svāhā svayaṃbhuve kāṇḍarṣaye svāheti kāṇḍarṣayaḥ kāṇḍanāmāni vā sāvitrīm ṛgvedaṃ yajurvedaṃ sāmavedamatharvavedaṃ sadasaspatimiti hutvā trīn ādito 'nuvākānadhīyate kāṇḍādīnvā sarvān jayādi pratipadyate sviṣṭakṛdantaṃ kṛtvā tryahamekāhaṃ vā kṣamya yathādhyāyamadhyetavyamiti vadanti taiṣīpakṣasya rohiṇyāṃ paurṇamāsyāṃ votsargaḥ sagaṇaḥ prācīmudīcīṃ vā diśam upaniṣkramya yatrāpaḥ sukhāḥ sukhāvagāhās tad avagāhyāghamarṣaṇena trīnprāṇāyāmān kṛtvā sapavitraiḥ pāṇibhiḥ āpo hi ṣṭhā mayobhuvaḥ iti tisṛbhiḥ hiraṇyavarṇāḥ śucayaḥ pāvakāḥ iti catasṛbhiḥ pavamānaḥ suvarjanaḥ iti caitenānuvākena snātvā darbhān anyonyasmai samprayacchanto ditsanta ivānyonyam tataḥ śucau deśe prācīnapravaṇe prāgagrairdarbhairudagapavargāṇyāsanāni kalpayanti brahmane prajāpataye bṛhaspataye 'gnaye vāyave sūryāya candramase nakṣatrebhya indrāya rājñe yamāya rājñe varuṇāya rājñe somāya rājñe vaiśravaṇāya rājñe vasubhyo rudrebhya ādityebhyo viśvebhyo devebhyaḥ sādhyebhya ṛbhubhyo bhṛgubhyo marudbhyo 'tharvabhyo 'ṅgirobhya iti devagaṇānām viśvāmitro jamadagnirbharadvājo 'tha gautamaḥ atrirvasiṣṭhaḥ kaśyapaḥ ityete saptarṣayaḥ nivītina uttarata udīcīnapravaṇa udagagrairdarbhaiḥ prāgapavargāṇyāsanāni kalpayanti viśvāmitrāya jamadagnaye bharadvājāya gautamāyātraye vasiṣṭhāya kaśyapāya vasiṣṭhakaśyapayor antarāle 'rundhatyai kalpayanti dakṣiṇataḥ prācīnapravaṇe 'gastyāya tata ekavedyāntebhyaḥ kṛṣṇadvaipāyanāya jātūkarṇyāya tarukṣāya tṛṇabindave varmiṇe varūthine vājine vājaśravase satyaśravase suśravase sutaśravase somaśuṣmāyaṇāya satvavate bṛhadukthāya vāmadevāya vājiratnāya haryajvāyanāyodamayāya gautamāya ṛṇaṃjayāya ṛtaṃjayāya kṛtaṃjayāya dhanaṃjayāya babhrave tryaruṇāya trivarṣāya tridhātave śibintāya parāśarāya viṣṇave rudrāya skandāya kāśīśvarāya jvarāya dharmāyārthāya kāmāya krodhāya vasiṣṭhāyendrāya tvaṣṭre kartre dhartre dhātre mṛtyave savitre sāvitryai vedebhyaśca pṛthakpṛthagṛgvedāya yajurvedāya sāmavedāyātharvavedāyetihāsapurāṇāyeti dakṣiṇataḥ prācīnāvītino dakṣiṇāpravaṇe dakṣiṇāgrairdarbhaiḥ pratyagapavargāṇyāsanāni kalpayanti vaiśampāyanāya paliṅgave tittirāyokhāyātreyāya padakārāya kauṇḍiṇyāya vṛttikārāya sūtrakārebhyaḥ satyāṣāḍhāya pravacanakartṛbhya ācāryebhya ṛṣibhyo vānaprasthebhya ūrdhvaretobhya ekapatnībhya iti yathāsvaṃ pitṛbhyo mātāmahebhyaśca kalpayanti amuṣmai kalpayāmyamuṣmai kalpayāmītyāsanena amuṃ tarpayāmyamuṃ tarpayāmītyudakena amuṣmai namo 'muṣmai namaḥ iti gandhapuṣpadhūpadīpaiḥ amuṣmai svāhāmuṣmai svāhā ityannena amuṃ tarpayāmyamuṃ tarpayāmīti phalodakena amuṣmai namo 'muṣmai namaḥ ityupasthāya apareṇa vedim agnim upasamādhāya vyāhṛtiparyantaṃ kṛtvā kāṇḍarṣīñjuhoti kāṇḍanāmāni vā sāvitrīm ṛgvedaṃ yajurvedaṃ sāmavedam atharvavedaṃ sadasaspatimiti hutvā prathamenānuvākenādhīyate kāṇḍādīnvā sarvān jayādi pratipadyate
