Vidarbha and rural Maharashtra's festival honoring the ox (bail/bull) as farming partner. Farmers bathe, decorate and worship their bulls with garlands, colored powder and sweets. The decorated bulls are taken in joyous procession through the village. No farming work done. Municipal Pola in urban areas sees processions of decorated ceramic bull toys. Reflects agrarian Hindu culture.
